I have been wondering today what would happen to my account if I suddenly died and simply did not post in the threads anymore. The mods have no way to guess what happened to me.

Does the account go on lasting until the forum itself is sent to Oblivion ?

Yes(probably)

Unless they kill accounts for inactivity.

No, the mods go through the obituaries every day to make sure that no GAF members have died. If they have, they deactivate their accounts immediately.

Yes, it's this care about the members which makes GAF different.

Some of the obituaries posted on GAF Gold by the mods have been deeply touching as well.

this is such a morbid topic but i love thinking about it. imagine if your job was to deal with dead people's facebook profiles.

when i die i want someone to delete all my shit please thanks

I'll have my SO post, under my account, that I died. Then you guys can have an internet funeral.

I know a couple people in real life that have accounts and know I post here. Hopefully one of them will post the greatest memorial post of all time.

They should subscribe to dead Gaf community
Just a stupid joke

seriously, Doesn't this apply to all social sites. how would you know if someone have dies unless close friends tell you about it?

I'll have written a detailed post about my death saved on my hard-drive, then when my death actually happens, it'll be posted to let everyone know I've died, and I may get a couple pages of "RIP" and "you'll be in my thoughts and prayers," then the next day, become a distant memory.

evilore gets to keep your soul. its in the very, very fine print most people can't see.

don't forget "holy shit". there's always a few of those thrown in too.

about 75% of posts in death threads consists of these three phrases. useless.

GAF should have its own cemetary where every member will be burried. Then we can all go to a member's grave to mourn his death. Of course this is GAF, so lots of puns will be made at the funeral.

A sub-forum of the deceased, each thread would be dedicated to a dead GAFfer for all to see for eternity.

I don't imagine there are too many dead GAFfers here, but there would have to be some.

Someone on my facebook killed himself and his facebook account went away too, I don't know if he did it or if someone else did but I thought it would have been cool to just keep it on the internet forever, as like a little permanent memory. It's better than making a RIP group where people just post "rip broda u da try hero u alwas in ma hart never forget".

Also the more facebook friends I have the cooler I am and if they keep dying it'll seem like I'm less cool.

I have an extension that sets it up to where the word "banned" is changed to "Dead", and I thought this was going to be about what otherworldly torment happens to GAFers that got banned.

I think about this shit all the time. I have close online friends who if I died, would most likely never know. I keep meaning to set something up with my irl friends to let those guys know if something happened to me.

It depresses me to know that over the past decade there has been, for sure, many active posters who have stopped posting due to dying. But we will never know.

One thing's for sure though, if I stop posting it'll be because i'm either dead or have fallen in love and married. One of those two. Could go either way at this point.

I do worry sometimes about how people would know if I died.

I thought about sending someone a letter with my passwords once, that they are to open if they haven't heard from me in months to post that I died.

They go to GAF-Heaven, where Half-Life is already on it's sixth installment, Bayonetta 2 is released, and your own personal GAF-Gold account

Unless you're some kind of heathen who doesn't believe in God Evilore, then you get sent to GameFAQs

There are some services that do this in the event of the rapture. I am certain that they could do it in the event of your death as well.
