What happens to Dead-GAF ?

Is your status on GAF honestly topping your priorities preceding or following the termination of your existence on Earth? We only get so many trips around the sun.

I'm sure there is some kind of window where the mods assess whether or not an account is active/abandoned.

Hopefully someone would post to my Facebook that I was dead and then one of the two GAF real life friends I have would make note of it.

But I doubt it'd even warrant one page (50 ppp).

Pretty sure I heard of a site out there that lets you post to your facebook/forums in the even that you don't log in for a year. The only shady bit about it is that you have to fork over your usernames and password. Not sure if it's worth it.

evilore gets to keep your soul. its in the very, very fine print most people can't see.

I'll just have to split my account into 7 pieces

I'm developing an AI that can still post for me after I die. It will just take all my previous replies and regurgitate them when needed.

I thought this was going to be about what happens after you're banned. It'd be cool if when you got banned, you could post as a Junior Member, but no one would see it. Like a sick purgatory of the internet.

Maybe I'm there right now though.

Someone quote this.

For example, I thought I just saw Blame Space but I know he's been banned and is the worst member of GAF after losing to Timedog so it couldn't be him.

He isn't with us..........................

anymore.

I'm actually the third Riposte. When one falls, another takes it place. That's what it means to be a symbol.

time for the very offensive and deeply insensitive post of the day (please do not ban me for saying the obvious here.. please?):

ask snaildog.

I miss seeing his avatar in gaming side. :(
In case you don't know:
after posting regularly on gaf, he stopped posting for a year or so, and eventually turned up in a news report, indicating that he had been suffering from depression-like feelings and so on for a while, and chose to end it in the most drastic sense possible, that being suicide.

That's why it's so deeply insensitive, and I realize you didn't ask to have this in your thread -sorry- but in my defense, it is a valid answer to the thread, albeit one that will probably not end very well for me. I'm hoping the moderators can see my reasoning behind it though.

Who was that guy in the black culture thread who took a trip to Japan and then posted something like, "I really fucked up this time" and then never posted again?

Pretty sure he's dead.

Yeah, now that you mention it I remember the thread that announced that. It slipped my mind.

Apropos of nothing, one of my colleagues was killed last year in a rather horrible traffic accident and it makes me quite sad any time Facebook suggests her as a friend.

(I am tangentially trying to make a point that a server can't guess you're dead if you haven't logged in for a while, I've excised myself from several online communities deliberately and it's not due to lack of oxygen consumption.)

Isn't there an option to appeal to facebook to delete users that have died or otherwise inconvenienced in such a way (comatose, that sort of thing) that keeping the account online is morally questionable?

There may be, but I believe her closest friends kept the account open as a tribute.

I'll tell my brother to change my avatar to a penis and create a thread with explicit porn when I die. There's no way I won't be remembered forever after that!

this is great

This has actually happened twice on a different forum I go to. The first time his sister informed us of what had happened. The second time one of his friends, who also had an account, found him dead in his apartment from a heart attack. Dude had been there for over ten years and was so greatly liked that they changed the sub forums name to his for a month in commemoration.

There is actually a facebook app called "If I Die" that posts a last message or video upon your death. Here it is.

I have a couple dead facebook friends, it's weird but I don't want to delete them.

My friend died few years ago, yet her profile on a social network still works.
It's weird receiving messages like "It's XXX's birthday today! Wish her Happy Birthday!" every year now; it's was even weirder when the year she died few people, unaware of her death, actually did wish her "Happy B-day" :(

I think about this shit all the time. I have close online friends who if I died, would most likely never know. I keep meaning to set something up with my irl friends to let those guys know if something happened to me.

Write a will to have somebody log in your account to tell your gaf friends that you died? Might be silly but it seems like the right thing to do. End with it getting perma banned.

They go to GAF-Heaven, where Half-Life is already on it's sixth installment, Bayonetta 2 is released, and your own personal GAF-Gold account

Unless you're some kind of heathen who doesn't believe in God Evilore, then you get sent to GameFAQs

I seriously rofl'd at this. GameFAQs is pretty much hell, huh?
