I figured out how to cheese
Izual
finally. Just
run around the circles and his AI is too dumb to do anything.

I feel so... -_- right now.

On nightmare I should add, lest anyone think I'm too bad at this game to do it on normal.

Ive come to the conclusion that from hell onwards barbarians just ain't viable, they suck you need to be fully tanked out to have a slight chance of survival, think I'm gonna level a mage soon

Has anyone heard any updates on lost achievements? There were some threads earlier in the week, but they seem to have vanished.

They said that they are looking into fixing it. Assume that is not on a high priority right now. They still have to work out the stability and the AH.

are barbs supposed to be able to tank? as far as i can tell, we have no hp regen skills (like the monk?) which makes it slightly difficult. granted, i kill everything fast enough that it doesn't matter, but idk how that's going to work at higher difficulties.

Yeah I know there are events, they mean a quest for me, but it's always in the same spot where you already are. They feel like, well, events, not side quests. Diablo 2 had many more areas though, is this correct? The level cap was 100... Then again, it was randomly generated tiles from what I read...

I know the actual bragging rights are in 'hey, I beat Inferno'! And doing it with friends, etc... I just... Sort of expected more bragging rights in the form of super hard bosses, like Heroic-only bosses in some WoW raids. Speaking of WoW, I think that's what has spoiled me. Diablo 3 feels like it has so little content, and no endgame content at all.

D2 had a level cap of 99, yes. D2 also had the same amount of Acts and you finished Normal around 30 as well. Then you either grinded some XP or went to Nightmare and did the same content again and after that, again on Hell.

Both D2 and D3 have randomly generated areas. D3 has slightly less so, the outdoor zones always look the same and there are a set of places where stuff will spawn, but the dungeons are completely randomized.

try the 3% life leech passive? i'm only in normal but that's what i use to regain life

Pretty sure I've seen some Inferno vids with Barbs playing, surely they must be able to stay relevant.

I've got a question about Witch Doctor. Does the minion damage scale automatically or is it fixed once the minion is summoned? For example, if I cast Soul Harvest with my Gargantuan up, does his damage go up for the duration? Or is it fixed once he's out and the only way to affect him would be to summon a new one when i'm under the buff's influence?

Your shouts have regen on them if you skill in to it. You can also modify the armor buff shout to have more HP regen. I tank I'm taking Nightmare right now with the build in this post: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=37994258&postcount=9798 Dunno what's viable later.

Tank as in MMO tank? No. Barbs can take a few more hits and they have a ghetto taunt with a rune (3s dur /15s cd). You can pick a passive for life leech, hp regen if you have a shout up, rune a shout to regen hp, revenge returns %of your max hp, you can rune ancient spear to leech 60% of dmg as life, you can rune charge to heal and you can rune overpower to heal. Might be more but that's all I can think of right now.

wow that's bs
I can imagine people in hell/inferno abusing the hell out of that for monster rares and legendaries

Abusing it currently. It's not a 100% spawn, maybe 30% spawn or so. You probably could farm groups with same efficiency, but there's practically no risk of wiping in this method.

Nothing really stopping you from doing that, but the AH is also there. I mean, whats stopping you from saying "hey i have such and such to trade, looking to deal" right here and finding someone interested. The AH is just a feature added to simplify things and remove that extremely niche black market aspect of the game into a hassle free source (and pad ActiBlizz's pockets with 15% of the proceeds :P)

You're right, I could do that, but the trouble is that as a social aspect of the game, you have to have a significant pool of other players who want to do it. It's a little like the classic anti-dungeon finder argument in WoW. Sure you don't have to use it, but everyone else using it ends up forcing you to use it. There is a trade channel in chat, but not many people use it. You need the right impetus to get significant interest in doing it the unconventional way.

Hey there! Diablo noob here and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm playing a monk and enjoy teleporting around with Fists of thunder w/thunderclap and dashing strike to get me into and out of the fray respectively. Combo-ing with the the first two strikes of FoT then finish with the last hit of Crippling Wave to induce AoE and stun.
I'm in Act 2 and am lvl 21 w/ DPS of around 150. Is that good or can I do better? If anyone could give me some tips - general or monk specific - I would greatly appreciate it.

NVM: Looks like they are just farming the boss.

have they gotten close? i hope these idiots never beat it but i know they will
It's blizzard's fault too allowing the team rezzing and checkpoint before the bosses. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth seeing these guys cheese their way through inferno by skipping all the content.

Thats ok. Could be higher if you play with the AH, craft some bits or get lucky with drops. EU or US?

Just make sure you get Dex and Vit.

Gaf ask for some wizards and I'm here to show mine

I played for some hours the original Diablo when first came out but never get hooked. The "click click gameplay" force me to pass over the second game but this Diablo III is so awesome i can't say no no

Method seems to be farming the first boss of Act 4, so they have already beaten him.

This is the current build I'm using for my Monk at lvl 33, anyone have any suggestions or tweaks?

Make Blade Storm your rune for Sweeping Strike its way better. Make one of your attacks Crippling wave+any rune its vital once enemies start hitting harder. Right now you have basically all sustained abilities pick at least one skill to dump spirit when you have an excess of it. I like Lashing Kick, but wave of light works too.

I don't know if it's my shitty internet or what but the lag is killing me man.... it's terrible and decides to spike right in the heat of battle.

Your dps is fine. I was around that with my witch doctor and I had no problems at all.

My advice would be level up both the blacksmith and jeweler. Also, I switch off between selling and salvaging all blue/yellow gear I get that I don't wear. That way you have good gold and materials income. I didn't ever need to use the auction house on normal. Loot drops were sufficient.

Glad you're loving the game. I have been playing Diablo games since 1996 and this is my favorite in the series by far.

Also any demon hunters use Strafe? Worst skill in the game....

I'm using nothing else! Skating around murdering stuff. Took a while to make that thing work though and I'm still not sure if it's good or not compared to other skills/class setups.

If you really want to go into content overkill mode, Heavy... you should deep dive into the achievement trees and start clearing out any loose end random dungeons/mobs/tomes/events you haven't encountered yet from certain Acts.

That's my gameplan for my first runthrough so I can cheese up down the road without feeling like I'm missing anything.

Method seems to be farming the first boss of Act 4, so they have already beaten him.
So we're anticipating an Inferno clear by the end of the weekend or thereabouts, right?

Act 2 is probably my favorite, has the best setting, variety, and fun well animated enemies.
Act 3 gets way too tedious IMO, especially the end part.

BTW, anyone know if there is way to upgrade ur mats?
Got like 200 subtle essences laying around :s.

Can anyone here hook me up with/invite me to a trial? Want to see how my PC handles it before I commit. Would be greatly appreciated, just PM and I will give you my email.

realize I'm a little late to respond here, but end game in D2 was Meph runs, Pindle runs, Baal runs. Basically, hit the closest waypoint to one of these dudes (2 were bosses, 1 was just a unique mob), race through the dungeon (teleport, etc.) then throw up a town portal, get everyone in the boss room, murder, ninja whatever drops, then leave the game and start a new game and repeat the process. That's it. D2's end game was boiling down the loot game to its lowest terms, finding who drops the best loot and killing them until they drop it. By comparison, D3 is a hell of a lot better, just because you're actually able to get loot in more areas of the game (in theory).

Sorry for not reading the entire thread, but I wanted to know how good is this game, worth it at a full price? Is it online mandatory? How'w the SP experience?

I played and finished the previous games in SP and enjoyed them, just wondering about how's this one compared to the others

Yes, online is mandatory due to the game structure. Totally worth it, but you might want to wait until after the weekend since they're having some server troubles with the launch.

For all those saying DH skills aren't that great, have you guys tried Double Chakram with Caltrops? It's so unbelievably good. Just two rounds of DC and it shreds through everything, even bosses and elites.

I just got to Act 2 but I liked Act 1 setting much better but I have barely touched Act 2 so I will save my final judgement for later.

Cool, thanks. I'll give that a shot when I jump on later

Anyone up for
Diablo
on Nightmare/NA server? I can
stun lock him
pretty effectively, but my magic find is so low that it would be a waste to solo him. I'm standing right outside the door if anyone is interested.
