So is the correct way to play first complete normal, then take the same character through all difficulties to max it out, and only then switch class and start Normal with new class again?

Lol, I thought the fight was hard even on Normal, required a huge amount of hits with my Barbarian

Haha, yeah my Barbarian buddy died early on and I had to solo the second stage. Really is easy as a DH.

I enjoy it, but I also feel that up until now (level 34), I have very little choice in what skills to use. Some skills just feel too useful at the moment (especially Dire Bats).

Isn't that true for any class though? I can't see me using anything different than whirlwind, rage, stomp, running attack for my Barb...

do you have 10000 dps

nope

??

get good bro, i'm in inferno and you stuck in HELL

I got a legendary monk 2h recipe and went "YESSSSS" and decided to make some to sell on the AH.

The AH is flooded. I should have sold the recipe! :x

I think I'm just going to avoid the AH for now, except to possibly sell some stuff. The economy hasn't stabilized and it kind of hurts the game for me to take advantage of the ridiculously under priced items. I'm sure at some point, when I hit a wall, I'll cave. Hopefully at that point the economy is a little more established.

Im thinking about it. Im lvl 22 and I already have 1000 armor and over 250 DPS with my barb. :D

Grrr... this is getting annoying. I want to play with more than 1 other freaking person. Why does it just throw only 2 people together every fucking time. I've only had like 1 game of 4 people and that lasted a couple seconds, because one of the guys left. 99% of this game has been played with either just myself or only 1 other person. I loved playing with a full party in D2...

omg I love this game, but damn 600ms+ lag right now is pissing me off. It's especially annoying as I'm playing single player.

ok someone enlight me. I played a baba, now i tried wizard and..

wtf is with weapons ? Why my axe is better than wand for magic !! ?

seriously. It's the most stupid thing i have ever seen. I can understand chopped skill tree and linear progression but this is just plain stupid... my brain hurts.

:/

Basically to avoid the WoW type situation where melee scales way better than casters, in D3 your weapons damage factors in to all damage you do, and that includes spells.

Its really weird, but a good idea in the long run imo.

Edit: And without a traditional skill tree for +skill items to even the playing field with better weapons for melee characters, it was probably necessary for that exact reason.

Yay, hit 43.
18 minutes of running the stupid Worthram quest(I can't see it anymore °°):
Full exp from 42 to 43, 7 rares, 15k gold, bunch of gems and blacksmith pages.

... back to grinding.

dire bats? nothing can replace my 80% aoe slow RMB

every single ability i use (minus spirit barrage which i've made spammable with two mana passives) is some form of cc

if you want to grind exp and loot do azmodan runs in nightmare (89k exp, kill azmodan and watch the cutscene where
leah's mam betrays you
), takes like 3 minutes

that looks to me like very poor concept or somebody was braindead thinking it will look ok.
Funniest part is that your character don't even use that weapon. It just have it and nothing.

Also i noticed another weird thing, there is no normal attack. I mean yes there is one but you quickly change it to skill and you can't change it for normal atttack anymore. There is one if your mana runs out but it is just weird.

Also how you can bind active spells for RMB and LMB ? can't figure it out... didn't need that playing baba.

It's really not that weird. I used a crystal sword in D2 as well. And I used a dagger when I was playing necro.

What lvl are you? add me Jinko#2577, Can't guarantee a full party but I play with other gaffers at times so there is a good chance,

What the best skill to deal damage to a single target as a DH?

I'm finding elemental shot (frost) to be good for boss fights DPS, Lightning for taking on large groups.

Damn getting so much lag today, trust me to start my character on a US server :( lol

I like to just think of it as a trinket. Like, a wizard has an axe/amulet/eyeball/wand/sword/etc that gives them magical power. There is plenty of that sort of thing in fantasy.

Yeah i did that too nothing uncammon but you could use them or case of necro daggers were essential for some skills.

I have wizard now he has Axe in hand and he don't use.

hmm i try to take monk i wonder how this will work...

Pick a Barb if you want to see weapons you equip being used. Monk does not, since his moves are Martial Arts based.

I have no idea why someone wants to equip an axe on their Wizard and actually use the axe! Why would you do that? You have some basic no mana spells to use for that kind of thing, why would you want to just hit stuff with a weapon? Crazy!

As the game goes on, class-specific weapons start taking on more stats that are beneficial to your class alone so you're going to wind up with appropriate weapons in the end.

I'm having a hard time understanding why this annoys people, honestly.

I really hope the later legendaries are more...unique. The ones I've seen posted so far seem no different than your average rare.

This is probably my biggest concern with the game. Itemization is strangely conservative. I guess that's why we have expansions.

Most disappointing thing about the game. I have 2 legendaries and I don't use them because my average rares found in nightmare are way better.

Where are the unique affixes? so boring.

Well it isn't my problem and i share you point of view on swords axes and shit for magic users.

But if I use one i want it to have some buff for my magic. And here i am with my completly normal axe that work better for spells than wand created to cast spells...

Does not compute. My brain hurts. There are so many ways you could improve that aspect that it's either :

a) they didn't give a shit

or

b) they actually think it's great idea..

What I like about Blizzard aside its great games is how they support them. We can be sure to get some major new content and total game changer patches (like with D2) and of course one or two expansions with new act and new class.

I predict the longevity of Diablo 3 to be at least 5 years.

Ok is there an easy to digest -- and short -- write up of how dual wielding works? I'm rocking 2x daggers on my Monk right now but reading this thread is making me second guess my set up. I wish I didn't have to scour the Internet for this information, it should be plainly visible in-game along with everything else.

Just tried monk... It's even more weird.. Got sword and.. yep in one moment he wears sword and in other he hits with his bare hand.

As of why would i use it.

Heres the thing:

my wand does 9dps and my axe 11dps...

So if i use axe my magic missles hits better !

Megaman_Derp_1754708.jpg

Couldn't they rename magic missle for telekinesis shot and later telekinesis something. It would actually make sance...

Just wanted to pop in and admit how wrong I was. I used to think the CG cutscenes were crystal clear, but I just watched the one at the end of act III, and I see what everyone is talking about. They are definitely very compressed and pixelated.
