Aaaand I'm finally abandoning the bunker I've lived in since the launch of this game :3 It's been fun times indeed, but I need to actually start working + take a breather + sleep + eat now.

The plan was originally to get Barbarian and Wizard to 60 before I leave, but things changed a bit. Instead I've gotten a barbarian to 60 (cleared hell) and a monk to 52 (just got to act 2 hell).

GL HF everyone! Talk to ya'll later!

You're only just leaving now? I thought that was just a launch day thing

Sweet fuck, Yoshi

<3

Just finished on normal... here's my Barb

It took me 24h 34min to finish on normal lol... I like to explore and destroy everything...

And LOL the last boss...

I know it's supposed to be easy on normal but damn... I didn't use a single pot and never went under 50% health...

So I hit level 40 with my Monk and I think I'm going to take a break from him and play a Witch Doctor for awhile. I remember reading about certain skills that make him overpowered but can't seem to find the posts. What are recommended skills to go with using him or her?

Stun them. Bash and Ground Stomp does the job. Maybe have Leap there just in case you need to get the hell out.

Can't have enough stuns to kill a rare pack of them. No way. I just upgraded my health pool to 38,5k (w/ 60% armor dr) and I get killed in seconds.

Lots of mobility then :D Often its best to have the HP bars on and target one and bring them down. Anything that slows them down will also be beneficial.

I'm a stun whore, I always grab skills with stuns.

Just unlocked Earthquake but I haven't used it yet. It seems pretty cool.
BTW I hate those stupid flying bugs in Act II, I died twice to them. I don't know if it's the 300 ping but it's so hard to dodge their stuff.

Low survivability, usually associated with casters/cloth wearing classes/glass cannons. Wizards are supposed to be very squishy.

No one is supposed to be squishy on higher difficulties, I think. Survivability is as important to wizards as ever since there are modifiers and mob types that ignore your attempts to run away.

"What a MONSTROUS CREA-CHAAAAA!!"

Quoting myself bc this awesome line didn't get any attention!!!!

Also, why in the world hasn't Tess been banned yet? I had to throw the clown on ignore yesterday after the first debacle. Kid is just obtuse.

I don't get what they were thinking with the daibo, Monk never uses the weapon, and there's a passive skill for dual wielding and none for using a staff.

Actually the same passive that gives you dodge while DW also gives you 15% increased spirit generation while using 2H. Which seems mandatory considering how slow your combos are while using 2H. I think the lesson here is to ignore the Daibo, which is a shame because I love the quarterstaff monk look.

Unless I'm thinking of something else, the passive with the dual wield bonus(+dodge) also has a 2H bonus(+spirit regen).

Daibos still seem useless, though, because of the on-third-hit mechanic of the monk's primaries.

I prefer "A worthy foe. Glorious!"

I need to get a lot more gaffers on my friend list...solo and public games are for suckers. Friends and gaffers is a blast. Sorry if I send anyone a repeat invite, I am just gonna go down the list alphabetically. echoshifting#1278

So I get the difference between sword and board and DW for monks. But is there any real benefit to 2H? Daibo slows down the combos so much it makes me a little loopy. And it doesn't feel like my bells are hitting much harder with it. Anyone know a reason to go with the slower 2h's that I don't know about?
There's a passive that effects you differently depending if you DW or 2H. Can't remember it's name ATM. But yeah, on normal, your best bet for DPS and spirit regen is DW. I used DW throughout and had no survival issues at all. Can't speak on higher difficulties yet, but Id bet a 1H and shield would be better than a daibo.

When does this game get more challenging? I'm a barbarian and just beat Act I on nightmare. The only time I died I got one-shot by a 3-purple group, but other than it's just so easy. All the bosses in normal mode I was able to beat with just my two mouse buttons.

In my experience nightmare is actually more challenging (and fun) with a group. The balance between monster strength vs. the party is much better.

Diablo
is decimating me on Nightmare, we couldn't do it in a group last night, and I can't do it solo today. Pretty dumb that your companion can't come with you during the fight...

Time to farm I guess!

My experience so far has just been that the balance is broken. It feels so mindless to the point that I'm actually bored. I'm at the point where I'm just not having fun anymore. I wish they allowed you to ratchet up the difficulty if you wanted to, without having to wade through all the feces. Maybe I'll try to party, to see if that helps.

lol I'm an idiot. I thought it was dodge + spirit generation while dual wielding. Guess I skimmed that one. Oh well, still prefer dodging.

I'm already reconsidering my stance on the AH. I think I'm going to avoid buying gear but I think I may just start selling blues instead of salvaging them and buying crafting materials on the auction house.

What in the flying fuck just happened to my gear!?
My gear just disappeared after painting them, I still have the stats but I can no longer see them!

solo as a barbarian i've only had trouble with these stupid
wasps that shoot 4 things at you that do 25-40dmg each and are deceptively tricky to dodge
in Act 2. then the act 2 boss killed me a couple times too but i had ppl to revive me so nbd

so to answer your question: i don't know yet lol. i have yet to play act 3

i suppose as a Witch Doc i should really take the Templar as companion with me right? (kinda as a tank and a healer)

damn shame since he's really boring especially compared to the scoundrel who is AWESOME, he just keeps insulting me and others and is generally being a huge dick, love the guy but he dies so fast :(

Did you buy your gear?
