Just finished act II and I'm really enjoying it. This being my first Diablo game I'm really taking my time and exploring every nook and cranny and listening to every piece of lore. I'm not sure why there is so much hate for it but I find the story quiet interesting. And damn that CG. Blizzard make a CG movie already.

2 as the best act? teh fuck

The story was the most interesting of the four (not saying much, but I enjoyed it). The act had more of a feeling of adventure than the other 4 (with 1 being close behind). The environments and variety within were amazing looking. It also has my favorite town. Act's 3 and 4 sucked.

The first half of Act 3 is the worst looking part of the game. The second half is great with nice looking environments and a ton of action.

Finished normal. Off to nightmare now :D

Daaamn!
The diffculty really ramped up after the first half of act 3 on nigthmare, everything up till then has been a cakewalk.
Had to reconfigure my skills to make myself a walking barb stun machine.

Also Act 2 for president!
2 > 1 = 3 > 4

Here are two screenshots (spoiler setting ACT IV) with and without Dark D3. It doesn't do the mod justice, on your screen the effect is even better. It really helps, esepcially the sharpening. Why is that game so god damn blurry. Playing it on my TV, sitting 3 meters away, it's hard to see anything at all.

Wtf is wrong with your settings? They both look terrible... Did you turn off the lights or something?

After playing through each of the acts three times, my ranking goes like this: 3 > 1 > 2 > 4.

Finished up nightmare today, starting hell tomorrow. Final boss of act 4 got our 4-man party in a bit of trouble as we wiped four times. General impressions of nightmare is that bosses are really easy and that packs with 3-4 champions and a yellow-named sometimes feel close to impossible. Don't even want to think about what hell will bring. Finished nightmare at level 48 as the highest level in my party, so we'll have to do some runs of act 4 to level up, which kind of sucks.

It's like Blizzard knew D2 Act 3 sucked so much so they compensated with D3 Act 3 ♥

I had to do the same thing, was getting absolutely rocked on NM, dead in 1-2 hits and taking forever to kill things. Spent about 75k in the AH upgrading everything and now it's fairly easy. What build are you using for your Wizard?
I'll have to look when i get on and yeah after dropping a ton of gold on the AH i rock NM.

As for the Wizard build
Left Click - I change between Electrocute w/ Forked rune (in NM i have been using MM w/ Split more so but in Normal i was rocking mostly Elec.

Left Click - Disintegrate w/ Chaos rune

1 - Diamond Skin w/ Prism Rune ( i went back and forth on Frost Nova and this but i prefer Diamond Skin because kiting isn't a problem for me and if i get stuck in a sticky situation i can just throw it on and burn them or flip the Archon switch.. maybe when better runes come up i will switch it out

2 - Hydra w/ Lightning Rune because it does 6% more damage and i go back and forth between that and Blizzard but i keep coming back to Hydra because i like the support

3 - Familiar w/ Spark rune because it gives me a 12% damage increase and IMO that is better than horrible magic weapon and the armor spells

4 - Archon (Archon is actually on hotkey 3 but so it won't confuse people who don't use elective mode it's "mastery" which is 4)

Passive Skills

I can't say 100% without looking but i believe it's Astral, Glass and Blur.

For the most part yes, but I think they made a mistake in going too far away from runes being tied to your skill progression too. Now I can't have 7 split multi magic missile like you could before with a level 7 rune.

I think they could have incorporated the pros of both systems with minimal cons.
I just wish they added more options with the runes because only 1, maybe 2 runes on each skill are worth using and the rest are complete garbage.

Anyone want to rank the acts?

For me:

2>1>3>4

With 2 being my favorite by leaps and bounds.
1 > 4 > 3 > 2

Funny, i can't stand Act 2.

For some reason Act 1 is my favorite, i could play it over and over without getting bored and i just don't know why.. Same with Act 4, i would say 1/4 are tie.

So many people recommending the silly D3-gamma-tuner.

Meh.

It's like Blizzard knew D2 Act 3 sucked so much so they compensated with D3 Act 3 ♥

They made it so that anyone wanting to public co-op the boss has to start hours back from the actual boss as well.

Anyone in NA up for a
Belilal
run in Hell? =/

I'm going to be at this awhile

Those CG scenes are incredible, especially the beginning of act 4 one
with Leahblo standing there with the wall of smoke rolling in behind her, like the embodiment of good and evil about to clash.

But yeah, I cannot get over the cutscenes in this game, makes me want a diablo movie all over again

Running into a wall in Hell right now towards the end of Act 2. Public games stall out a bit, progress is slow because people arent used to chain dieing until they get it right. So they keep leaving the game lol. I also got my first legendary.

Grrr... this is getting annoying. I want to play with more than 1 other freaking person. Why does it just throw only 2 people together every fucking time. I've only had like 1 game of 4 people and that lasted a couple seconds, because one of the guys left. 99% of this game has been played with either just myself or only 1 other person. I loved playing with a full party in D2...

Yeah I don't know why it's almost always 2 people...must be how the matchmaking works or something. As soon as 1 drops, another joins...it almost always seems to settle at 2 :\

.

Ah cool, you use pretty much the same set up as me. Only difference is I use Blizzard and Lightning Hydra and just ditched the Familiar. Dropping down a Hydra, Blizzard and then spamming Electrocute seems to destroy most things.

I've just been trying and failing to kill
Belial
in hell for over an hour now. It was a BS fight in Nightmare, but it's outrageous in Hell.

I'm jealous of the life steal on that quiver.

Nightmare is such a fucking giant improvement. I don't normally gush too much, but I'm really having a ball with this game. Good shit.

Yoshi go play Witch Doctor dood

Gargantuan is adorable.

Ya'll don't know about the Gargs.
Which Doctor is the last class I'll play :3 I'm close to 60 on my monk right now... I'm going for wizard after this.

It's pretty fucking lame how if you get disconnected you lose everything you gained past the last checkpoint.

I thought I would just have lost progress on my quest or map discovery but the items, gold and crafting materials I found and had equipped past the checkpoint were all rolled back to right before hand. What the hell man? Are the servers that janky they can't even remember the items you pick up past a checkpoint? D2 never did that kind of shit to you.

What happens when I find a legendary item and then the game disconnects and rolls back my inventory to the checkpoint?

Absolute bullshit.

Just got TWO unique GLOVES within 30 minutes of each other in Act 4 Nightmare.

Haven't ID it tho, going to wait for my bro to get home.

FINALLY some DH screens and builds. I was getting worried there.
My entire friends list is full of DHs :/

edit: 160% mf runs man... I'm telling you guys, this is fucking ridiculous!

Damn at your DPS' for DH. I am level 31 DH but my DPS is only 350. You guys going to the auction house? Nothing I have found has been strong enough to bump my damage that much.

I'd have so much more money if it weren't for the casino like blacksmith and dyes. Fucking dyes, why do I do this shit? :lol

Thats not normal. Stuff is synced like on a second by second basis. If i were to disconnect i would have the latest thing i picked up. Losing checkpoint progress is normal.

Sounds like the disconnect you encountered really bugged out bad.

Belial
in hell at 2000ms ping.

;_;

Oh man, playing this basically muted while listening to old Idle Thumbs episodes is pretty blissful.

I play while listening to podcasts. I miss the audio queues of stuff coming, but it's worth it.

Shielding is annoying, but invincible makes you just go "Yeah, not today. Screw that, I'm gonna go somewhere else."

Oh, there are actual invincible mobs? Invincible to one specific thing anyway (physical, arcane, etc?)

In Inferno I take it? That's going to suck. By suck, I mean I'm going to have to just Shadow Power right past.

Really? Ok that does make me feel a bit better. I don't mind much losing checkpoint progress but I was going to be extremely pissed if you lost all your new inventory and character exp every time you disconnect.

Hopefully just a fluke bug that won't happen again.
