Just beat normal mode on my lvl 32 wizard. The final boss was a little tough since i had to run so much. Good thing i had Hydra and those red arcane orbs (for more damage) to do damage while moving. Must be a pain on the harder lvls.

Are you a Monk? Then no

It's very easy with a wizard too, i got killed a few times but that's because i was careless. I can usually just spam arcane orbs and electrocute while sending an Hydra near a group and proceed to kill all of the monsters in a matter of seconds.

Is it even possible to complete Hell on solo mode? Im not there yet but i keep hearing people having trouble in groups.

It's been easier than NM for me so far (Mostly because of gear). But I know I will struggle on boss fights because those are easier to cheese with a group.

I just missed a click on lore button, it disappears after while!!! Where can I go and see it ??

It when I was fighting the queen spider thing and before you have to use venom to free chick

Just beat the SK on nightmare with a monk. My shitty dps led to me just tanking him the entire time, but he went down without a hitch. Put down some bids for items -- I don't expect to win, but we'll see -- to increase my dexterity, and by virtue my dps.

All of that's contained in the journal. Just go where the text for the current quest is (next to inventory) and click it. Then click the second tab in there to browse all the lore you've found.

Monks really are pretty ridiculous. During my multi hour long
Belial
slog in Hell, I co-opped with a monk at one point. During a 4 man hell boss fight, all three other party members died, and he survived (fighting a mob of dudes and the boss in a tiny arena) for probably ten minutes. He died eventually (400+ ping got him) but it was incredible.

Then you've got my DH, who takes two or three hits and dies. Probably the best AOE DPS in the game (Chakram or Elemental Arrow/Lightning) but the definition of glass cannon.

Yeah I'm a monk. That's really disappointing, it's pretty boring right now even though the combat mechanics are rock solid.

Things get more challenging (if you don't update your gear like I did) once you hit Act 3. If you carry decent gear then you will just blaze through normal. Currently I am blazing through Nightmare (I have 1.8k dps though).

My first normal mode run is taking much longer than I expected, I presume the last act or two is much shorter than the first two? I also realised I've been missing out on a ton of conversations, ha. Bad habit from D2, the text in that game scrolled so slowly for me to ever bother.

I'm a witch doctor and new to diablo ( game is awesome btw) but my dps seems very low compared to what I am seeing. It's like 70 sth and I am level 27 ( beg of act 3)...

I'm nearing the end of Act 2 on Nightmare difficulty and the game is definitely getting harder for my barb. I even decked him out with a few really good items off the AH but it's still difficult and I love it. Early parts of Act 2 were a cakewalk but then the second half starts getting tougher and some of the champ/elite packs can be very hard. If not for Call of the Ancients I'd stand no chance vs. many of these packs. My barb seems to be very dependent on that skill.

so can the witch doctor be viable without having that soul reaver skill as a crutch? I only played WD till lvl 10 in the beta so i have no idea but is there a viable build for higher levels without having a crutch skill like that? levels 40-50+

Any Hardcore Inferno attempts floating around yet? This will impress me more than anything that has been done so far.

No. I don't think anyone has even cleared Hell on Hardcore yet. Inferno would be insane. Personally, I think it will be months at the earliest before it's done, as you can't do any of the corpse run cheese that allowed Method and other people to beat the final boss on Inferno. You'd have to be super careful, as well as geared well.

wtf china.

I've been thinking about using it, but I don't I ever have 4 spells on cooldown. :/

Spirit walk, locust swarm, soul harvest and gargantuan.

I deliberately set long cooldowns (fetish spells, garg, mass confusion) and just relied on Direbats as the only offensive spell. Works fine since you have all your giant cooldowns for big tough mobs and direbats wreck everything anyways.

I wonder how cool Vision Quest is going to be when I get exploding dogs or zombie bears.

Use soul reave skill, can't remember the name of it, you get a huge intelligence boost the more enemies you catch in it. There's also a passive ability that lessens the cooldown. I highliy recommend using this skill. Its in the zombie dogs tier the name is slipping me though.

I donnt think you are very effective without it. At least not around level 40. I'd like to not rely on it, but its nit bad using that spirit walk and grasp of the dead you can catch 5+ enemies in the radius with ease.

So do you rely mostly on your drops for loot? I feel like i'm trivializing the game by abusing the auction house. Not sure what else I should be spending my gold on though.

I stopped using the AH as soon as I hit nightmare. Once you know how your character works you can save your cash and buy bank slots, upgrade your blacksmith and jewel cutter and have some money left over for some late game items.

Here is my character now

Just got d/ced with a flawless square ruby on the ground right in front of me. Going to call it a night.

Ouch, that's some bad luck. All my d/c's have mostly come in combat halfway through a dungeon. IDK why, but I seem to lose connection once (20-30min in) and then I can play for hours and be fine once I get back in.

Having a weird issue, im a wizard and whenever I cast orb a couple of times my dude starts walking forward towards the cursor. I have it assigned to hotkey 2 so I have no idea why it happens. And im pretty sure it didn't start untill recently. This has gotten me killed several times, anyone know whats going on here?

I think I need to set my wizard aside for awhile. I'm going to punch a hole through the wall if I keep going, class is *way* too fragile to survive anything past normal. Having all their best spells require them to sit still and channel them was a really *really* stupid decision.

Anyone noticed that the AH filters don't have all the possible stats available? I find that highly disturbing.

Also why are all belts so unfocused and crappy?

You should be fine through nightmare. You'll have to really buff your damage though. Hell is where survivability really gets to be an issue but Nightmare is kind of a sticking your toe in before getting pushed into the pool.

What's worse is that one of the missing attributes is Bonus Minimum Weapon Damage (aka "Of Wounding") for accessories like amulets and rings.

Also, both The Lyceum and The Villager's Journal from Act I appear to be glitched and unobtainable for the moment.

Your arcane power goes to low for another orb so he start running to the spot you want to shoot. You should try to hold shift whenever you shoot something that cost arcane power.

I use this (I am only in the 30s): Wizard Build. It's been a long time since I died and I level extremely fast because of AoE pack bonuses.

When you encounter an enemy you put on you can either Frost Nova or Diamond Skin, when either one wears off perform Wave of Force. Otherwise spam Energy Twisters and pick off single targets (or when oom) with Magic Missile. I prefer Teleport to increase how fast I move across the map and as a general oh shit button. You could switch it for really anything like Frost Armour with Chilling Aura, or Explosive Blast, Magic Weapon, (Archon if you got it) etc.

I disagree lots of wizard skills allow movement. I play with orb, arcane bolt wave of force, teleport and that frost wave thing and im never standing still for more than 2 seconds (the time it takes to cast 4 orbs). And with the illusionist passive anytime I get hit I can teleport to the other side of the screen.

And does anyone have any ideas about my previous post?

Just finished the campaign on normal for a second time as a Wizard. First time was solo as a Monk, this time as a 3-4 player group. Both classes are fun to play and I love how they evolve, Archon form is no joke. Great game.

Hm, hearing how wizard might have trouble in harder difficulties is worrying. What class is having an easier time then?

But happens after one or two casts though when I still have mana. And its assigned to a hotkey not mouse button, none of my other hotkey skills make me move when im oom..

Wow, Skeleton King on Hell was insane. I swear it took like 20 minutes or something. That was crazy. I was sweating the whole time, too. I thought if I messed up and didn't keep up with the higher healing portion of the healing mantra we'd all be goners.
