Since the Eu server are down I did some on the Us server...

... i have better ping on the US servers.. >_>

I was thinking about doing the same, but decided against it, because I didn't want to see the hard truth about shitty EU servers. :/

Is it me or crafting is worthless ? You find much better stuff by looting/buying at the AH...

At certain points I find the gear to be very good. I don't buy items off of the AH so if I don't find an upgrade through drops then the smith is my next option or the merchants.

So I looted
The black rock ledger: Page 23
during Act 2...

Any reason to keep that?

It's a LOST reference with the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42. No one seems to know if there is any point in collecting them all or if anything special happens. I have one and will hang on to it for a while at least.

You know, thats sort of the problem. Blizzard can get away with this shit, while other companies would die in a fire if they had these kinds of problems on game launch. The game SHOULDNT have these technical issues on launch. Work on it for 6 months longer instead of releasing it like this.

Come on, first blizzard has no real massive online game experience, and second, this game hasn't been in development very long at all.

So how are wizards dealing with 1 hit deaths from bosses? Are you just learning patterns and popping crystal armor when hits cant be avoided? For example the skull king has a charge that insta kills me. I get him about half way and then die.

sure.
I'm a level 45 WD right now.
! But you need to be level 50 start hell :(

All moves from the main bosses in this game can be avoided.

As someone who has never played a Diablo game nor a game in this genre, I'm strangely interested in this game. Would Diablo III be a good start or should I go for Diablo I/II/Torchlight/something else first?

I would love to play with you when the servers gets up! Are you okay with that :3?

Add me on Yoshichan#2623 when the servers are online (that is, if you want) :)

Yoshi! Stop avoiding me :'(

Since I'm your little-brother baba could you give me your hand me downs? Kthxplsbye.

Those of you saying Normal was a faceroll:

Most of it was, but holy shit Izual and Diablo were hard. I was able to get Izual after about 5 tries, but could not solo Diablo after 10 or so. That phase 2 shadow realm shit was crazy hard. I had to have a buddy come help. I'm probably not the greatest player on Earth, but those 2 fights were definitely a challenge.

Demon Hunter btw.

Can't play my SP game because servers are down on a fucking sunday.

This is fucking bullshit.

Regardless of whether the actual core game is brilliant, you can't justify this shit. I would've said GOTY contender before, but with these surrounding issues, I can't see myself placing it highly.

Diablo 3 is a online game and you decide to play it alone.
Yes. I know what you mean.

Time to learn for me, I guess... still no ETA on when they will be back online again.

Hehe, I am a crafting freak - and only ONE amazing item so far - which I think I sold for less than it was worth, lol. But at least I get to dump my money on levelling up the Blacksmith and trying to get a good item out of it - masochist me?

In other words, it's worthless.

Since finalozzo needs another 5 levels to go until hell, I want to play with you in the meantime :3 Can you play when the servers are online? Are you on normal? I would love to start over a new character ._. Can we skype/mumble/vent?

To those who consider blacksmithing worthless, do you have it max (10)?

i had ~200 the entire day with no drops, it's def your connection.
Me and my group were lagging off and on all day and it defiantly wasn't our connection.

servers have been lagging for tons of people over the last few days, you just happen to be connected to a decent server.

They clearly underprepared for the popularity this game is getting. Additional dev time wouldn't have prevented that.
Yes, they shouldn't have had troubles this long, but as long as the troubles subside soonish, I'll be content. If these however continue for long, then it's time to start get mad.

Are you using crafted gear right now? Because I'm wondering whether to sink it to upgrading smithy or buy a new stash tab.

The smithy is kinda useless. For example level ~54 gear needs 10+ essences and over 10k gold each item. Then you roll the dice and hope you actually get something worthwhile. Makes more sense to get a bit of MF and go hunting.

If you can afford the $60 price tag I would just jump on in to Diablo 3. It's a different experience from the older games with all of the new systems in place. It's also a phenomenal game in general. Come join us. :)

I just hope that at least those that are not preferring online raging as an alternative to playing Diablo III can still express their opinions as well. If something is broken, they are fixing it, end of story.

The game does not have a DRM. It is an online game. The server gives you the loot, the server stores your characters, all interactions are online. I have never seen people asking World of Warcraft: Cataclysm to have an offline-only mode just because you can solo basically all the content from lv1 to 85.

Are we talking about banking or a video game not operating for a few hours? O_o

I could tell you something about your point but i fear i'll be banned.

jokes aside.

Only reason why Diablo3 is server side only it's because of DRM. They didn't want piracy. Off line single player = piracy.

Diablo 2 was both local and server side your point is invalid.

Dear EU players, here's what our blue has to say about this :

I'm 55, act 2 hell, I'm always up for some skype + d3 <3

I've upgraded my blacksmith to 9 (I have more than enough money to get it to 10) but I'm wondering if it's worth it... that's why I was asking :/ I've bought all stash tabs, it's definitely worth it, especially if you're like me and want full MF gear, full EXP gear, full gold find gear in your stash :3

Use a build like that http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aZjdXV!aeY!ZaaZZa

As far as Dia goes: You can avoid his jail by stealthing yourself. Then, simply run away and use shift left click into Diablo's direction. Don't forget you basically got a guided arrow. In phase2, stun your mirrir image and kill it, shouldn't be a real problem.

Don't forget: with shift leftclicking hungering you can hit stuff around 1 1/2 - 2 screens away. Just kite.

Online arguments do not get to change how others view the world. We share ideas, "battle" viewpoints, and both (all) learn something, that is how it works. I would love to know what would change though if I would be just as enraged as some of you are. Would I stop playing this game, or continue playing it while being mad at it at the same time? That does not sound like fun in my book...

What would change? I just told you what would 'change' to make me enjoy this. If I knew there will be maintenance during my planned sunday afternoon, I would have done something else, I would have played yesterday so I can finish my projects today during it.

Again transparency would have been nice. if the servers died, say it. But having unplanned 'maintenance' with close to zero info on when it will come back is not helping my situation.

Isn't another big reason for always on drm the use of real money for items in the future.

It's much easier to game that system if you don't have to contact the servers that often.

I'm assuming they seed the game world through the communications and they match the drops that occur with intended drops from the random seed they used.

If people can easily exploit the game that could lead to massive fraud.

damn, should have used darkd3 from the beginning. It's worth it just for the sharpness alone, can't believe blizzard thought the vaseline covered game looked better than this...

Oh and being able tone down the rainbows is a nice bonus. Game looks gorgeous in balanced mode :)

What does everyone do with yellows they don't need? It doesn't feel right to just salvage or vendor them, so my bank is overflowing with yellows that take time to sell on the AH. :(

Start here, server bullshit aside, it's an awesome game, it's of course much more modern than the first two, and much grander in scope than Torchlight.

Accept no alternatives.

If this downtime is planned there would have been transparancy.

I've just started vendoring them. You get more money from vendoring them than selling the salvage and trying to sell them on the AH is a crapshoot.

I'd salvage yellow gear unless they're good enough for AH!

Doesnt explain why there arent two different modes like in D2. Have one running server side, and another offline which cant get items into the server side version. Has there been any fraud because of that during D2?

Yes... we think alike. I have terrible gear on my character just because I want to have max mfind all the time. All those tasty int+ gear waiting in my stash...

lvl 30 WD here and still on normal. (was traveling)

I wasn't annoyed about launch day issues as they were to be expected, but this is ridiculous.

It's not that there isn't an offline mode as I understand their problems with hackers fucking the online up, but if they are going to make it online only make it fucking work.

I loved running around with 150+% MF through normal/nightmare but in hell, I found it quite impossible unfortunately :/ I only switched to the MF-stuff whenever I was one hit away from killing champions/bosses or opening special treasure chests!

Im wondering what prices are gonna be for good legendary/set items on the RMAH...
Can't be more than 5-10 dollars, unless they're ridiculously rare. There's so many legendaries at the AH already and if you post up you can find some nice deals. I already have two legendary weapons for my Monk... I just reached Act 3 on my first playthrough of normal. :/
