Mad Riders is showing up as May 30th on Wikipedia, and Babel is showing up as June 13th. There are some more open spots this month so I would be surprised if Frogger, Kidd, Warlords or Monster World didn't take some of them. I don't expect to see many 200 pointers after SoA.

There shouldn't be any at all as MS is enforcing a mandatory bump to 400 as of June 30th.

Screens and info on the new Serious Sam DDXXL features:

http://mommysbest.blogspot.com/2012/05/were-taking-serious-sam-double-d-from.html

Two-Player Local Cooperative Play - Huff will be the second playable character! Not sure who Huff is?? Check this out.

Gunstacker Upgrades - Shotguns that fire a horde of bees, Prism Lasers, the return of Serious Sam’s trademark Cannon and more!

New Campaign and Challenge Missions - Take to the air in your very own missile-loaded Pterosaur or roll through your foes on a dynamite-powered unicycle!

New and Upgraded Enemy Classes - To balance out all this new firepower we're adding new enemies such as the Torcher Kitty (see below) and the Explosion Eater!

Reworked Level Design and Flow- And to better frame the new enemies, and Gunstacker additions, there's lots of tweaks to each level and to the flow of the game itself (such as an improved checkpoint system).

Voice Acting - Serious Sam's original actor voices Sam, and we have the absolutely bonkers Huff guy, Netricsa to balance out the 'boys', and General Maxilla to add a dash of evil.

800 MS Points, Fall 2012

Also looks like CroTeam also announced Serious Sam 3: BFE for Fall release, few places are listing it as XBLA but they may of course mean Games on Demand.
Shall see.

Sega has set final release date of May 23 for the first round of Sega Ages Online releases, and also announced the next round of titles.

As previously reported, Sega will launch the downloadable retro collection on PS3 and Xbox 360 through six games: Alex Kidd Miracle World, The Super Shinobi, Super Hang-On, Wonder Boy Monster Land, Wonder Boy V Monster World III and Monster World IV. These will be individual releases on PS3, priced ¥600 each. On Xbox 360, they will be split into two 800 Microsoft Point consisting of Alex Kidd, Shinobi and Hang-On in one set and the Wonder Boy games in the other set.

The second round of titles will hit on May 30. Golden Axe Collection and Streets of Rage Collection will be released exclusively for Xbox 360, priced 800 MSP each set. Golden Axe Collection includes the 1989 arcade Golden Axe game and the Genesis/Mega Drive Golden Axe II and Golden Axe III. Streets of Rage Collection includes Streets of Rage I, II and III.

Akai Katana, Dragon's Dogma, and the first two Sega Ages sets at the same time.

I'm down.

Will maybe get the SoR collection if I can get BK3 through region fuckery or something.

Finally a fixed date for the Wonder Boy Collection!

JAM: LMA is... actually pretty good. The Jam mode is brilliant, can sit there for ages just playing with bits of songs and seeing how they sound with different tracks turned on and off, you can do it all at your own pace and if you time it all right you can make some tremendous sounding stuff. You can record your own mixes, and play them in Arcade mode.

Arcade mode is hard as nails.

There are fewer than 50 people on the leaderboard. This isn't exactly representative of how many it's sold though, because the leaderboard only counts arcade scores and you don't unlock that until you complete a whole bunch of challenges. It doesn't look like it's selling much though. Should have released it outside the US.

Alright, I have no idea if there's a thread that pertains to this, but I can't decide what XBLA game to pick. It's between:

-Fez
-Trials: Evo
-Bastion
-Torchlight
-Super Meat Boy
-Minecraft
-Iron Brigade

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that those are all the ones I've missed. I also plan on picking up Walking Dead Ep. 1 if the game I pick up isn't more than 1200 MSP.

Super Meat Boy is my favorite game on XBLA, and one of the 3 best games of the generation, but I'm guessing it'll be on sale again at some point soon. Trials Evolution is incredibly good, so I'd get that.

Did anyone try Dragon's Lair, then?

Yeah, I liked it for what it was. I have no kinect, so I just used the controller. It's a classic with beautifully restored animation, but I can't compare it to any other ports or even the arcade classic (I DO have it on Wii, but haven't played it.)

The traditional arcade border is nice, and I find it a bit easier to use than the default control method, since the indicators don't stick out as much as they could.

For me, I's suggest Iron Brigade, and Bastion. I'm not sure if Fez has been patched, but I know it had some framerate issues. Nothing that makes it a "miss out on" title, just somethign to consider. Trials is great content for the money, if it's your type of game; Some of the best feature set of any XBLA game out there.

Shit, I played the trials for all the games and love them. Looking back in the XBLA library, checking to see the games I missed, I just realized how crazy huge that it is. XBLA seriously has to be the best part of this generation.

I'd seriously consider getting all of them. They go from pretty great to amazing.

I'd say all of them, but as you only have 1200/1600msp to spend, I'd go with Iron Brigade and the DLC. Only 800msp and you can buy TWD Ep1 and one other 400msp title.

All of those games are great so try to buy them all at some point, but pick up IB and the DLC while they are on sale.

Since there was talk about the Forza 4 Porsche pack.

The MN blog now lists it at 1600msp. The Forza 4 VIP Membership was just added (it was previously included with the C.E.) for 1200msp. If you buy that or you have it from the C.E. you get a 400msp discount on the Porsche pack but you have to do it in-game. If you just buy it from the marketplace it will be full price.

first choice: fez, trials, minecraft, super meat boy in no particular order

second choice: bastion, iron brigade (you may consider toy soldiers too)

damn, the south park update makes the game playable and even fun!
hated the demo but with the patch, its feels and controls much better. its also faster and less clunky. might buy it after a price drop.

Essentially, it lets you change characters on the fly in single player. It was utterly insane that they didn't have that in from the start, I just can't work out what they must have been thinking.

i think the focus was on the 4p coop. but its mostly the increased run/jumping speed that makes it more fun.

Yeah, I get that, but if you're including single-player as an option it just didn't make any sense at all that half the level was blocked off no matter who you chose to play as.

Pssh, another game we can't get in the UK.

I'm trying to get a 60x combo in The Splatters, I had forgotten how hateful that game is when you're trying to score well.

Yep unfortunately, my UK friend wanted to check it out, but couldnt find it on her marketplace.

toythatkills I already own Sonic CD. That too is a good game.

If that World Gone Sour theme doesnt get stuck in your head.

Way too many? There are like half a dozen total.
Off the top of my head:

Aegis Wing (Yes, even though it's free.)
Apples to Apples
Inferno Pool
JAM Live Music Arcade
Merv Griffin's Crosswords
MLB Bobbleheads Battle
MLB Bobbleheads Pro's
MLB Stickball
NCAA Basketball 09 MME
NFL Blitz
NFL Live Draft Tracker
NFL (Uh...the other one that came out at the same time.)
SpongeBob Squarepants
Tecmo Bowl Throwback
Tetris Splash
Wits & Wagers
World Gone Sour

I'd agree that's way too many.

-Iron Brigade
Pretty much all the games you listed are the best in their genre on XBLA, except for this one, imo. I've been playing all of the "tower defense with third person action bits" games on XBLA lately and I think Orcs Must Die and Toy Soldiers are a lot more fun than Iron Brigade.

Maybe that's just me though, I hate it when I'm controlling a concrete slab like you do in IB. I like the fast and nimble guy in Orcs.

Edit: Hey, wait! The sale is still on, you can get both Orcs and IB for the price they normally cost alone. They're both 50% off until tuesday.

Add You Don't Know Jack to region exclusives. Really wanted to buy that game too.

We have a Wonderboy OT, but perhaps we should have a big Sega Vintage Collection one with the Wonderboy, Alex Kidd, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe collections about to hit?

I agree 100%. Most of my favorite experiences this generation have been on XBLA.

Ditto. When I list my favourite xbox360 games, they are almost entirely made up of XBLA releases and not retail games.

Pinball FX2, Super Meat Boy, Trials HD and Evolution, Castle Crashers, Pac-Man Championship DX, Pinball Arcade, Snoopy Flying Ace, Limbo and Splosion Man...
It brings a tear to my eye to even make that list. It's soooo good.

The upcoming Sega Vintage Collections are done by M2, right? I wonder how much work they did put in. I guess I can't expect a Sonic CD quality port? I want Monster World IV so bad, but if it's the same as the backbone ones, then meh.

World of Sour almost feels like a steal for 400 points. platforming goodness. charming game.

I just bought this, and it is a fun little game. My only real gripe is that the load times between levels are a little long.

Fun platforming, good music, and the concept is a throwback to absurd titles in the genre.

Add Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (only available in Europe, US got the Ubisoft-published Kinect exclusive $40 retail game).

Not XBLA.

Oh you're right. Make that the Scene it XBLA game then. Can't buy that either and I think I got confused with You Don't Know Jack because it also has an XBLA version..that I can't buy.

oh crap Dragons Lair is out? gotta check it out.

give me Space Ace while we're at it.

Do I need Gold for any of the features in Trials besides the online multiplayer? Meaning can I still see the little bubbles for friends' times and can I still download community stuff?

nope, you get all of the features except multiplayer.

all of those are games that suffer from licensing issues, not worth the publishers splashing the extra cash to put them outside of their target audience

Hmm....so I was thinking of picking up Orcs Must die and IB, but then I noticed that Trials HD is on sale as well. I just didn't mention it because I figured I'd just pick op Evolution instead; would anyone suggest picking it up over Orcs or IB?
