I'm still located in the NE field, I hope - can't wait to join up this evening.

MOB, I was seriously dying of laughter for about 10 minutes last night during the whole car debacle. Not sure if you had, I had to mute my mic at one point. Driving through walls, sliding sideways...Tasty fun.

I have video of our whole trip , on my screen we went through like 3 walls and then crashed into a house and were surrounded by zombies. I'll upload it later.
 
Yeah US server is getting crushed, Swedish seems to be ok. Almost done with all of them just waiting on Animation and SFX. All clear so far.
 
Are the servers not updated? I updated my mod files through Six Updater and I tried joining a server that I normally play on and it kicked me for having the wrong files.

EDIT: Nvm I see the version number in the server names...

Yea this is kind of gay. As soon as I started playing with the new patch I have a cold and my blood is slowing going down. Temperature is also slowly going down.
 
Please be aware that it's an ARMA II beta server, not an DayZ mod beta (there isn't such a thing).

What's the difference between the Beta version of ArmA II and the regular one? The beta servers always have a couple spots in them... maybe I should just try to use them instead.

My assumption that it will no longer be one-shot kills. Unless you're already playing on the patch?
 
now this change is just stupid...
making the interface worse should not be a planned part of the update....
why is he creating artificial obstacles to the interaction?

I think I might skip this patch completely

whats next timed key (quicktime events) presses to apply bandage properly?
will we have to play a minigame of opening the canned food when we want to eat?
or find the hidden object minigame when we want something out of our backpack?

I don't really know what affect the new sickness and temperature system will have on player behavior especially with antibiotics being so scarce.

Ugh. Give me glorious non-temperature servers already. This shit destroys any desire I have to play DayZ. No insignificant feat considering how much I wanted to hop on only hours ago.

The hotfix is already out, shouldn't be an issue but don't quote me on it. I think he knows where he wants to go with it. As long as these things can be remedied I see no reason to fight the addition of more survival goals.
 
But the temperature thing isn't realistic! Cold weather should only increase your chance of a cold if there are already germs around!

Unless you say like, the island is covered with zombie cold germs, but that's silly.

It's kind of weird that Rocket would try to make the user interface worse, unless he was trying to avoid the thing where you accidentally hit middle click and eat all your food and drink all your water.

Also, is water super rare now that oceans are off limits? I think I heard of churches having pumps, and there's at least one pond with a dam.

Not super rare. He fixed it so ponds could be used and there's no shortage of them.

The top image looks much worse than what we have now. I really don't get the complaints about the current gear UI. It doesn't look pretty, but it works fine other than some glitches where items disappear, but that has nothing to do with the UI itself.

CHKilroy videos of him playing other ARMA mods show ACRE. He was Switching shit quite fast so it seems much better. I agree, a new UI that makes sense would be great.
 
Just installed ARMA2. My god this thing runs like shit on my PC. Turning down to 1024x768 resolution.

Feels Bad Man.

Rare daylight. Far from most civilization, but why rejoin the empty husks of it. These near-barren woods offer more life. But in trees it is difficult to navigate. Gas stations yield little for me. Even less than they might without electricity. A nearby field hospital offers only a shotgun. No supplies. But body bags abound. Perhaps the real reason for this hospital, and for a lack of medical supplies. Shacking from the pain that the dead have caused, but no more painkillers. Tylenol seemed to last longer before this plague. The airfield here looks promising. Crawling. The dead cover the field. Someone in their infinite wisdom has barred the entrance to the tower before me with barbed wire. Amazingly I make it up the ladder without attracting attention. I hear gunshots not far. Gathering scraps of supplies. Around a mechanics building I move. A shambler, returned to death lays before me. I crawl across the tarmac. Around and into the woods, and then back to a guard tower. A survivor lays dead. Supplies to navigate this world. Night falls. I run across many deserted camps.

Into the outskirts of Novy I begin to haunt barns, houses. Gathering supplies and dispatching whole towns. I trade this remington for a trusty winchester.

Loaded on supplies, I creep out. But the dead are not fooled. I am surrounded in the open. The inhabitants of this town break my legs, tear my flesh. My rifle clicks, no more ammo. Same with my pistol. Unable to escape, much like these forsaken roamers of death.

Along the coast. I run. Attempting to find Elektro and legacy. He, bleeding out. Doc runs to his aid as well. Running, supplies in hand. Keeping the coast on my right shoulder. I see a city in the distance, a power plant. But no legacy. Road signs! ........Berezino.

I know Enduin is near the airfield. Gibs having run there. And knowing that doc will tend to legacy, I continue. Enduin, Gibs and I clear the airfield. Constantly collecting supplies. Indigo and stunt join. Broken, BS, panda, MOB, legacy, doc, and slope attempt to make their way to the field. Enduin tires, and takes a short break. I know of Gibs' reputation, killing on sight. So I enact revenge with a stairwell, but spare his life.

Gibs asks us to adopt identifying markers so strangers may be identified, and dispatched with his rifle. And that he may watch from above. We identify ourselves. A stranger in our midst! I ask Gibs to come, in order to watch this stranger. But then....

Enduin lays dead among us, his resting spot our hangar.

We hear from Mob that he is pursued by a horde. Indigo joins him in his flight. Riding Mob of this horde shall be easy, everyone having arrived and we having gathered a trove. We tell Mob to enter between the hangars, and then around to the control tower. I venture to the security shack, searching for more supplies. Gibs and legacy leave us, our watchers from the hills now gone. A man shouts! He sees two men by the hangars. Our gaffers. An entirely different man answers him that he is friendly. Two unknowns! The first states that he is going to drive into the hangars. We rush to the control tower. All of us train our rifles on the field, waiting for this man and car. Decided, if survivor perhaps he shall live. If bandit, it cannot be risked.

A bandit! Driving into our fortified position. But how to lure him away from his vehicle? No man would be stupid enough to leave if he saw all of us gathered, such as we are, rifles trained.

MOB! And his horde! Mob circles the bandit's car. The shamblers quickly swarm his ne'er-do-well.

He does not run over the dead. He panics as we watching, jumping out of his guarantee for survival. The plague bearers do not give up their hunt. Mob enters our sanctuary and we litter the ground with this bodies.

1. You should RUN STEAM via "run as administator"
2. and start ARMA 2 once , then exit
3. then start ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead via the desktop shortcuts from installers


Note: installers support any distribution not just STEAM
 
I already have ARMA 2: CO patched to 1.60, and I've installed DayZ through the DayZ Updater (did this last night).

What do you I have to do to apply the 1.5.8 update?
