Meh, seems like I have to avoid Prometheus related topics (or movie threads in general) until August...

I've put a spoiler request in the OP. I do think there needs to be a firm hard rule about posting untagged spoilers.

BTW, are we fine with the thread title or will we have to eliminate the spaces for search purposes?

Well, what I'm concerned about is the stuff from the other thread making it's way here. I know the general consensus is "if it's in a trailer or promo material, it's fair game", but there were dudes dissecting the clips frame by frame, and editing stuff together in an attempt to piece the movie together and then posting gifs and screen and stuff. I'm pretty uncomfortable with that personally, so I was just wondering if we were going to keep that sort of stuff out of the OT if possible. Otherwise I'm happy to vanish from the thread until I've seen it, if others want to do that sort of crap. Just saying...

As for the title, I dunno. It's probably better for search if we rename it, but it looks pretty good this way too. If someone feels strongly about it, I can change it, otherwise I don't really think it's an issue personally.

Take a trip north! Or do you watch dubbed (I hate Spanish movie theaters for everything being dubbed)

I have a business trip to America in a few weeks, so I could watch it there. Unfortunately I have a bit of a hard time trying to understand some accents, so I'll have to wait for the subtitled version (I'm sure some theatre will carry the original dub).

Shit cock fuck.

I'm completely for keeping that spoilery shit out of this thread. I think there are a large number of posters that have expressed fear of spoilers for this particular film. I think any untagged (or embedded pics) that reveal questionable plot-related info should not be in this thread.

Sounds like a good way to go. Especially since some people get it a week earlier than others. It would be pretty awful to have shit spoiled in a movie like this.

Only posting to subscribe to the thread and to point out that I was stronger than all of you and didn't get spoiled by the third trailer ahuahauhauha

nice OT

Everybody seems to be on board with the no spoilers rule.

All spoiler material should be properly tagged or in the case of gifs etc - LINKED with a bolded warning.

I just remembered why we don't and think the title will soon be edited without spaces. Hopefully that happens before Dan comes in yelling. Woops!

I do think it's fitting for this movie though.

I did the same thing for one of my Reach OT's and it led to pages and pages of bitching, even though the title came up on search just fine. Some people.

Nice, succinct OT. Crazy excited for this one, I'll be there opening night. (In the US.)

I think the title looks cool like it is, but I can understand the search concerns. Doesn't matter too much to me.

Spoilers being kept out of the thread is something I can agree with. Otherwise, I'm out at the first sign of trouble.

Yeah I remember I originally did it for the AVATAR Rottenwatch and it was changed quickly. I think the Off Topic fellas are less temperamental.

And yeah, I usually like to keep my OT's pretty clean. I'm personally not a fan of OT's that take up half a page with huge black walls of images. Makes it a pain to view on the iphone as well.

I'll be in the Los angeles area that week... Where the hell should I go to watch this movie?

I did go see MI:3 at the Arclight in hollywood. Dunno if there's better theatres in the LA area.

It's also out in Taiwan on 8 June if anyone else except from me cares. I'll be there day one.

Shit cock fuck.

When I studied in Madrid their were quite a few subtitled theaters. I don't know where your at though.

I still don't get it though Mexico has more original dubs than Spain.

This'll join Blade Runner and Alien as one of Ridley's greatest films surpassing the likes of Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven:DC etc in the process.

The hype is strong in this one. Really hope you're right, considering Blade Runner and Alien was made in 79 and 82. That's quite some time ago, considering he's made many movies since then. The again this is his return to Sci-fi which partly he has defined and seems to suit him the best.

15th? but I want it now :(

Something tells me I'm going to get spoiled, unless I avoid the internet in its entirety and I don't think that's possible.

I am really not liking this crappy trend of movies opening overseas first. USA IS THE ONLY MARKET THAT MATTERS
to me. :)

I'm down for the death penalty to all spoiler material. >_<

I'm still pissed after reading the Avengers thread and someone making their "Guess" at how the TDKR plays out.

Is it safe to post and read this thread? Will spoilers leak in from the other thread? Someone tell me if it's safe! :(

It's never safe. I'm probably going to be avoiding this thread until I watch the movie.

Good chance my friend can get me tickets to a preview screening. Would be pretty awesome if she could.

Why does Switzerland have 3 release dates?

I'm excited for this though, definitely going to watch it with my friends.

EDIT: Wait there's a TED talk on this movie? Where is it I can't find it.

So what, no spoiler talk until September 14th when it has released everywhere? Seems fair I guess.

Does this mean we will have another thread for spoiler discussion?

Watched an interview yesterday where Damion Lindenloff basically said that the 3 minute trailer gives away too much.
