Hey guys who game mostly on Touch/iphone, have you seen that thread about the iphone going to 16:9 in OT?

Do you think the is a good thing for gaming specifically?

To me, it seems like it would be a good thing, depending on shape of the device (how you would hold it).

Oh yay! I've been waiting patiently for quite awhile.

Hello dudes & dude-ladies!

I'm happy to announce that Ichi, the exciting one button puzzle game, is in review at apple. So we will announce a final release date very very soon.

However you can play Ichi right now via the web demo! You can also buy the game for Windows & Mac via pay what you want!

And finally there is a trailer!

When the game hits the store we will give away a few copies of the game right here on neogaf.
Very nice website, all this cross platform goodness with a web demo sold me.

It's pretty awesome.

For example: You create a level in Ichi and you share it on Facebook. All your friends can click on your facebook post and play your level in the web build, free of charge. :P

And when people play your level you will get points. With those points you climb the leaderboards & get achievements.

Thank for the answers, Jedeye Sniv, SteveWD40, Alextended and heringer. Really appreciated.

Yes, I have the same problem, I don't like much seeing my finger taking so much of the screen, so I hope the iPad will make that less a problem. I'm a bit worried about what Alextended has said about being comfortable (I will surely get the new iPad and I have heard is heavier than the iPad 2), but I guess that I will try and see.

I'll bother the thread again when I get it and face the gazillion of games in the store.

Free Fruit Ninja (non-HD) iOS codes to celebrate its anniversary. Site asks you to input your region so non-US codes may be available.
http://anniversary.fruitninja.com/

FYI you can grab multiple codes simply by clearing cookies. Quote to reveal codes (US only).
Took me a couple of tries on that site to actually get a code that wasn't already redeemed (IE region). Seems it picks one randomly from a pool of keys, some of which people have already gotten via the cookie clearing trick.

Across Age doesn't look like my cup of tea, but it has me in the mood for an ARPG.

Anyone play Fantastic Knight? It's came out last year. It has decent reviews. It's only 99 cents, I will probably buy it regardless when I get home.

Looks pretty good. Looks like they put a lot of work into the art direction and such, but I just don't like playing these action games with virtual dpads and buttons. I wish more of them wer point-n-tap like Diablo or something. That seems more fitting for a touch screen interface. This goes for a lot of other iOS RPGs I've looked at. Not to port beg, but a lot of these games are exactly the kinds of things I'd love to be able to buy on XBLA, PSN, or Steam.

I have a simple idea for an awesome simple wordgame for iOS. Who should I talk to?
It's very similar to Words With Friends. Who do I email for this? I would love some money from my idea.

Protip: avoid the purchase-day "what do I play?" questions, start reading this thread now to get an idea of what's good :P

I'm surprised there are so many people in this thread who didn't own Fruit Ninja. Do none of you have Angry Birds either?

I've never actually played fruit ninja. I'm kinda broken, in that if something is too popular I'll usually avoid it. I have found that games can often be the exception (in that usually the popular games are best) but iOS throws that curve off a lot, given that Angry Birds and Cut the Rope are so popular, and those games bore me silly.

I'm sure Fruit Ninja is great though, and I tell you what. If I get it, I'll pay actual fucking money for it! :P

So um, I was checking AppShopper and this was free...

Err...

The hell?! I downloaded it out of curiosity and it is a mess. Deleted it after 3 minutes.

After seeing so much Angry Birds everywhere, I will probably never buy it.

So, just because something is popular you will avoid it? Even if it's good? That's a strange way of approaching things.

Nobody wants your idea. If you can't make it yourself, then you're going to have to let it go.

This is the harsh reality.

Is it like wordament? I wish someone would bring wordament to ios

hahaha, don't worry. I'm a lurker since the original thread and I have an idea, more or less (I have an iPhone after all and I have bought some stuff like Dodonpachi and King of the Dragon Pass) . I'll investigate myself.

But I have some specific thinks I would like to find (tableboards and 4X overall, games with some elements of management aside of Kairo stuff). I will ask if necesary but it won't be a random "tell me what to buy from a billion of apps".

Has anyone been able to get a free Fruit Ninja code for iPhone? I have FN HD and wouldn't mind playing the iPhone version but their site has been an absolute shambles although they continue to advertise the promotion.

Edit: Of course, as I post this I finally got through. :D

I've tried about 50 times (yes it's only a dollar shhhush people like free stuff) and keep getting codes that have already been used. I haven't been able to redeem one that works. Not farming codes or nothing. :(

That guy from halfbrick who posts here should send me a working Canadian store code. ~_~

Yeah, it finally loaded the page again for me and I just put in the code it spit out for me but it's already been redeemed. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Wow I never thought I offend so many. When I went to HK the Angry Birds comment galvanized it, heck I even bought a Angry Birds train set.

Thanks for the heads up.
Just to be a bit more clear, Fantastic Knight is extremely grindy, rather short, has a story that is written by a 2 year old, runs like shit and looks like shit.

CrimsonHeart is still quite a bit grindy, but has the fun of grinding for ultra rare gear/materials for a pretty decent crafting/enchantment system. Also it looks pretty damn great, runs buttery smooth, has excellent 360 degree control with it's responsive virtual d-pad, and is overall extremely addictive and fun. Again, has a story that was written by a 2 year old Korean kid who has hired a very mediocre translator, but at least it's a damn fun game to play.

Nah man, I was just commenting on how text bytes bereft of context sound different than we intended. Sarcasm is a prime example, how many times have we had to repost explaining our intended meaning. I truly meant no offense, but for some reason I used a hipster voice when reading your comment. I know the internet is pretty old for me to be making these observations
but I've had a couple of beers
.

You get Ace! for doing it on your first try... No idea how to really for sure get 3 stars vs 2 stars, I sometimes think it was perfect and only get 2. Maybe it's time-based? As in, you get 3 stars if you're fast/swipe fluently an don't make the players stop? ( since you can pre-swipe and don't have to wait for stand-still). But no idea.

Cool, figured as much for ACE!. Not sure about being fast to 3 star the events tho, I've taken quite the time to clear some and still been awarded with 3 stars. Didn't know about the the possibility of pre-swiping, thanks!

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this yet, but I just went to Best Buy's website thinking I'd check to see if they're running 20% off iTunes codes... and indeed, the deal of the day is 20% off a $100 card. Deal expires in 5 hours, 40 minutes.

Lol. This is adorable.

I want to get this, and it would make sense to get this, but I don't want to admit to myself that I'd actually use $100 on the app store.

For those of you who enjoy Junk Jack on iPad, how in the hell do you do it? On my iPod I just moved with my left thumb and reached across with my right thumb to tap the blocks. On iPad, this just doesn't work, but that's really where I'd prefer to play it. Tips?

Dungeon Crawlers is ok I guess. Looks good, controls well... it's just kinda basic.

Speaking of SRPG's, LostStar Tactics (sequel to Tactical Warrior) is good stuff. Could never get into Tactical Warrior due to it's hideous art and graphics, but this one I like.
