Bane is essentially Evil Batman already. Parents are killed, innocence robbed, trained from young age to be super badass, comes to Gotham as powerful mysterious figure with ambitions to change the city through strong symbolic actions, etc.

That's probably where they're going with this: There can only be one Batman!
I think he wants to be catboy instead

I hope you didn't just post a real spoiler Mr. JC.

After how you spoiled the ending of Skyfall for me, you deserve nothing less!

I'm just going off the origin story of the comic books. Every one of the big bad guys in Nolan's films are some kind of variance/dark reflection on Batman, and I think just from a character concept, Bane is right up there. If Ra's/Scarcrow are Batman's power of control through fear and symbolic justice pushed too far, if Joker is the Opposite of Batman, then Bane is Anti-Batman. A perversion on Batman's origins. I always thought that with the proper respect to the character, he'd be a wonderful Batman movie villain, and I think DKR will be testament to that.

Oh okay. So long as its coming from the comic books. :)

The more promotional material I see of Catwoman the less thrilled I am about her being in the movie. She's a new character to the film, one that none of us have any attachment towards. I'd much rather have more Batman or Alfred or Gordon or Bane badassery than have Selina Kyle add a trite femme fatale angle just for the sake of it.

Obviously I'm hoping Nolan will make her awesome, but I still can't help but be skeptical. I don't want a stereotypical "strong female hero" in my Batman movies, because I can't see it adding anything of value to the story

I know Nolan won't let me down

Nolan, for better or worse, seems to like to cram as much as he possibly can into his two and a half hours so you still might get plenty of Batman, Gordon and Alfred time.

Wait, Bane isn't a new character? Did you just spoil something?!

Bane is a new male character, Catwoman is a new female character.

Can't have those trite female characters taking up that precious screentime.
I don't have a problem with her BECAUSE she is female, but rather because Catwoman is a "big league" character that can usually keep up with Batman in one way or another. I have no problem with JGL or Marion Cotillard in TDKR, I just don't want Batman getting help from Catwoman. It is the exact same reason I'm glad Robin has been kept out of Nolan's movies. Batman is just way more badass when there aren't other people sharing his style of justice. Obviously Catwoman and Batman differ in a lot of aspects, but the Lucius-Alfred-Gordon support system is the perfect balance and I don't want her throwing it off and making Batman seem weaker for it. It has nothing to do with sex or gender

Just finished Begins for the billionth time. So good. I wish TDK used some of the bigger music pieces that Begins has.

Also hadn't picked up on Batman using the "there's a storm coming" line when he's talking to Gordon, just like Selina in the trailers for
Rises.
