Ripped and encoded all my Simpsons DVDs for playback on my iMac, iPhone, and eventual AppleTV purchase.

I've watched so much more Simpsons recently because of it.

Is there an easy way to do this? I bought all the classic seasons as well, but every ripping solution seems cumbersome and very time consuming.

i wish my damn zune was as easy to organize as an ipod. :[ i thought i had organized my simpsons episodes and then found out everything was all messed up. the zune software is such a piece of crap.

Using MakeMKV is probably the fastest way to do it. It doesn't re-encode anything, just packages the episodes into mkv files. The drawbacks are that not every device supports mkv playback, and the file sizes aren't reduced (unless storage space isn't a concern.)

I had to watch New Kid on the Block today because of that story about the man who was refused more fish at an all you can eat fish fry In Wisconsin.

It's easy, but time consuming.

I ripped the DVDs to my HDD using Mactheripper, and then encoded those with Handbrake using the "universal" preset and adding the commentary track.

Now I can stash my DVDs away in my closet just to keep as backups.

*Gasp* Look, it's mumblemumble!

Kent Brockman: Now, this technology is new to me, but I'm pretty sure that's Homer Simpson in the oven, rotating slowly.
His body temperature has risen to over 400 degrees - he's literally stewing in his own juices.

Goodbye, Maggie, stay as sweet as you are . . . Goodbye, Lisa, I know you’ll make me proud . . . Goodbye, Bart . . . I like your sheets.

One of my all time favorite episodes.

I think Maggie is one of the best characters. She's so important in every scene yet she has never said a word. Watch the older episodes for her and look at her expressions and actions. It's very subtle a lot of the time yet it's so effective.

Then there's stuff like this video, which is one of my favourite Simpsons moments ever. Sorry about the quality

Marge also plays off her well. It's just little ways they interact together.

No, Mr. Simpson! Don't take your anger out on me! Get back! Get back! Mr. Simpson, NO!!!!!!!!!

*Dramatization: May not have happened*

But Marge, listen to the music! He's evil!

Ha ha with a man in the White house? Not likely, huhahahaha!

Such an awesome episode lol, so many quotes.

I love the old trend of listing random things together

Hello, what's this? Wire hangers. Expired medicine. Old newspapers! <panting>
Okay, Homer, stay calm. just quietly get this stuff inside your house.

You gotta improvise, Lisa: cloves, Tom Collins mix, frozen pie crust

Kent Brockman: Mr. Simpson, Organized labor has been called a lumbering Dinosaur.
Homer: *Screams*
Kent Brockman: My producer is telling me not to talk to you anymore
Homer:Whooohooo!

This episode has such perfect comedy moments.

The episode is deservedly so the favorite of many fans, mine included.

Burns: Now, let's get down to business.
Homer: [thinks] Oh, man. I have to go to the bathroom. Why did I have all that beer and coffee and watermelon?
