Ok, so lvl 60 barb here.

Nothing was reallya problem till inferno, mainly died like 10 times.

But then inferno comes and kick my ass hard. So, any tip/ viable build ?

I have really no clue since I cleared the other difficulties so easily...

Get ~40k hp, ~9k dps. Use a build that has both berserker rage and earthquake, combo these to take down elites.

This is good advice. Warcry with the +50% resist rune is pretty valuable too, and can be shouted without cool down. I like cleave better than frenzy but thats up to preference.

Link/Desription? Sounds fun :)

What I'm using, with the hotfix to energy armor i'm debating the usefulness of force rune so i've swapped back to pinpoint. You'll need some crit gear to make this build reliable though.

haha oh wow that guide is so wrong. Magic Weapon: Venom is the second key to the build. without it you don't get even half as many chances to crit. It's crazy good for this.

This doesn't make any sense.

Nightmare in a lot of ways is easier than Normal especially if you are using AH. My mind was blown when I got into a party with someone who was going through Act 1 of Nightmare but had Square Gems... like wtf you don't even unlock that shit until you play Hell. He explained that he was on his 2nd character and he already had the upgrade for the jewelers but this got me thinking... there is nothing stopping from people starting off Nightmare to deck their equipment with Square gems they purchase from AH to boost up the stats. I am still on Triangle gems right now...

How long before twinks (overpowered low level characters) get popular in this game?

We are already there. My buddy that just got the game won't let my level 20 DH play with him because he still has higher DPS than his level 30 Monk...

Looks fun, why no frost nova though?

auction house down for some kind of emergency

hacked maybe?

Ill bet Blizzard/Activision will be sued within a year due to the poor online service will probably make people lose real money from the auction house as well as hacked accounts

I've got all my gear decked out in Square gems right now. Wearing nothing but slotted rares with Magic Find, dex boost, vit boost, attack speed boost, rubies in my weapons, emeralds in my armor and a big 'ole juicy topaz in my helmet.

Still running around Act 2 in Normal. Level 27 Demon Hunter with close to 1200 DPS. I'm sure I'll meet that Jeweler fella someday. I hear he's entertaining.

Is there a confirmed "best" primary skill for monk?

Signatures? No. They're all pretty good for differing reasons

Fists of Thunder - Best SP Generation, good balance, solid hits.
Deadly Reach - Best Defense or Offense Boost, good frontal control.
Crippling Wave - Best Area attacks, solid debuffs
Way of the Hundred Fists - Best Raw damage

There are minuses as well of course but you'll definitely want to change depending on build. Sanctuary + Deadly Reach might be a fun/interesting combo to keep enemies out and still damage though especially in small hallways though I haven't tried it yet.

From my experience it already has.

It's not like it's difficult to have OP low level characters. So you can one shot an elite mob in Nightmare.... Yawn don't care. Pretty sure I was in a group where I was the highest level by 4 difference but they were out DPSing me. Then I looked at the gear and it made sense.

Still doesn't look like it matters for Inferno... yet.

My LVL40 DH has 1300 DPS at the start of NM Act 2. :O And I am still destroying mobs. I might need to check the DPS again though because I am now at the end of Act 2.

Or even on normal, you can twink level 18-19 chars with top end gems for ridiculous damage.

How long before twinks (overpowered low level characters) get popular in this game?

Well I'm currently running through act 2 normal with 5 nephalem valor stacks to get some decent lowbie gear to make leveling a monk alt a bit easier, and I assume I'm not the only one.

I don't see how this is a problem since there isn't any pking in this game.

Enough with that. No it was probably taken down cause the servers are just ass and they need to restart it to be usable.

I think (not 100% sure, but still 95%) I didnt' get gold for a weapon I sold

Also I am kinda confuse how 'bid' works

bid.png

How come my 'winning' bid does not replace the current bid? o.O

edit: when i serach the item in AH, the current bid is still 17k

I don't have any trouble getting my crits in so I don't need deep freeze. I mean, I could drop it in in place of venom hydra situationally, but other than that I don't have much room for a spell that doesn't do much damage, my force wave is my major attack for 260% in a large aoe with the 75% bonus from dynamo. I think if I was going to use frost nova I'd do a build more focused around frost damage.

Low level twinks are supposed to be in the game. Otherwise there would be "complete act * in 1 hour" achievements. Or maybe they're thinking more of lvl 60s going through normal acts. Either way, it appears to be a given.

Also the math/economy on gems in general is fucked up beyond recognition. I feel like a chump gathering all the small pieces of gem in the wild then leveling them up at the jeweler. Then I looked up the prices for gems and they were CHEAPER than making it yourself.
Otherwise there would be "complete act * in 1 hour" achievements
I got that achievement using DH on a Vault plus Prep.

Now that my girl is nerfed, I need to rethink my build a bit. At least we were able to kill Inferno Diablo in time :)

Thanks Shouta! And Hazard!

I feel Monk's skills are 90% useful. Makes it hard to pick and choose imo.

Currently on normal Act IV I use Crippling wave, the healing light move, the tornado that surrounds you, the arc kick, the seven palms or w/e that you teleport around in a diagram on the ground within to kick a lot of ass, and mantra of evasion. Don't think I'm missing anything.

Works great, but always questioning if there is better.

So how can a wizard beat this? Act 2 spoilers. Inferno.

Early in the act, you spawn inside the throne room where you fight Belial. Around 20 snakes shows up.

What can I do?

.

Anyone know why youtube videos suddenly echo for me? Every video has two soundtracks playing, one slightly ahead of the other, if I pause the video one keeps playing and there is no echo anymore. I suppose I could just listen to the video without the pictures, but I'd like youtube to work as well...

Maybe you're opening it twice in two tabs.

when does the current bid change?
When someone pushes it up.

If someone bids 30k, then it will go up to 30k+1 or whatever the minimum increment is - you are still winning the auction. If someone bids over 100k, then you'll get all your gold back and the current will be 100k+whatever the other person bid.

Basically, you are saying that 100k is the most you're willing to pay. Anything up to that is fair game for you.

Smoke Screen's biggest advantage is that it completely disjoints spells/states. You can get out of so many stuff with it including stuff like the stun from Butcher's hook. I am using it after the nerf and it's still good but you gotta be on the money with the activation. My health isn't that high but that 1 second of SS on NM has made sure that I have died only once (got cornered by an elite mob).

I do agree that the "3 hatred for 14 discipline" rune is completely bull shit now. In that regard the nerf was knee jerk because it totally makes some runes on SS a joke.

Well, bear in mind that they can't really effectively buff in a hotfix. Without the actual client UI showing the results of the changes, it's almost totally ineffective to "invisibly" buff things but still effective to nerf them in the same way (because you can't impose the desired result of a buff on the player base, but you can a nerf). That's why they openly said you shouldn't use that BoH rune on Monk until the next proper client patch, since that's the first opportunity for them to effectively balance against the desired result of their nerf.

On a side note, the cost of combining gems up until the tier prior to the last one that drops in Inferno really needs to be evaluated.

What is the chance that Critical Mass reduces your coolodowns? The tooltop just says "a chance", which is lame :-/, just curious.

when does the current bid change?

When someone outbids it. Let's say the current bid is 17K and your max is 100K, if someone bids max 50K, it will make your bid and make the current to be 50+K. In turn, if someone bids max 150K, the current bid will be 100+K since it beats you max.

guess with the stupid nerfs i have no choice but to make a dex/vit Demon hunter like everyone else. yea build variety is fun

I have a feeling the OP build is that "everyone else" was using.

But yeah, don't try anything new, and just use the most popular build and complain about the nerfs. Seems like a good plan.

Nightmare.

My tactics are the same for every fight but insta fucks like this are hard. I cast Ice Storm with the freeze rune around me, then cast diamond skin to prevent the nuke. Cast serpents and kite with ice storm (blizzard?). Remove all channeling spells, they only serve to kill a wizard. DOT is the only way.

What is the best Wizard signature spell to use with Arcane Dynamo? Magic Missile seems to be the only one that generates a flash with every hit. The living lightning rune for shock pulse should be the best, but it doesn't flash with every hit. It just seems random.

Can you elaborate on this a bit? I haven't reached Inferno yet so I don't know how much it takes to combine the higher level gems.

If I'm parsing it correctly, he means the gems that drop prior to Inferno. Currently you can get them from the AH for cheaper than the combines gold cost alone.

Right, or really just the highest tier you can get from drops. I think only up to Flawless Square actually drop (even in Inferno). Combine costs for tiers below that really shouldn't be as expensive as they are with how high the drop rates for them are.

Honestly, AH, a major feature of the game, sucking like this and lacking ways to sort and such is really disturbing to me.

Anyone with AMD/ATI able to force better AA through CC? Tried, but doesn't seem to work. Framerate and GPUs usage increases, but graphics show no improvement and are still jaggies.
