This was mine. I put it together quickly and furiously, so it's not very good, but eh...
Dear Honorable Judge Moriarty,
I recently read that you sentenced a teenager, Diane Tran, to jail for missing an excessive amount of school days, despite the fact that (a) her parents are continually absent from her life, (b) she works jobs to support her siblings, and (c) she is an honor student at her school with exceptional grades when she is able to attend.
I must say that I am highly disappointed with your decision. I normally do not write to tell people that I am disappointed in them, but your judgement seems so prone to error that I believe you must be told.
Your job -- your only job -- is to ensure that justice is served. What you served to this teenager is injustice. How can you possibly sleep at night knowing what you have done? There are convicted criminals that I respect more than I respect you at this moment, as at least a criminal had the courage to hurt their victims while running some level of risk. You, on the other hand, ran no risk when you hurt your victim because you sat in a cozy chair with the law of the land on your side. Having the law technically on your side does not make a wrong-doing right.
As a result, I am asking you to correct your mistake by doing two things: (a) setting this teenager free and (b) apologizing to both this teenager and the community that you serve for making such an egregious, faulty decision unbecoming of a justice of the peace. If you cannot do that in a timely manner, then I hope that the community serves you impeachment. We need binary robots to manufacture goods, not serve justice.
Thank you.
