Call of the Simpsons where they get the RV? The one episode I don't have :( (s01e07)

I just noticed that this thread is nearing 1 million views. :o
I really hope the Simpsons has its series finale soon and they release a super mega Blu-ray boxset (yes, even all the crappy seasons that I never watched). I am so buying a super mega Blu-ray boxset if it ever happens. :D

That would be a tower of DVD cases.

Goodbye, Maggie, stay as sweet as you are . . . Goodbye, Lisa, I know you’ll make me proud . . . Goodbye, Bart . . . I like your sheets.

One of my all time favorite episodes.

This the episode where Homer tries to off himself? To me this is completely out of character for him and is one of the early episodes that really just did not resonate with me. Felt like an outside writer was given the task of writing a more dramatic Homer episode and it was just a bit weak.

no, this is from the blowfish episode, when he thinks he has only a day left to live.

Explain how.

2012 gif making thread

That was Homer's Odyssey

"Someone should really put a stop sign here."

Then begins that weird camera sound effect they used in the earlier episodes.

Interesting tidbit about that episode:
Waylon Smithers made his first appearance in this episode, although he can be heard over a speaker in The Simpsons series premiere "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire".[3] In his first visual appearance, he was mistakenly animated with the wrong color and was made an African American by Gyorgi Peluci, the color stylist. David Silverman has claimed that Smithers was always intended to be "Mr Burns' white sycophant,"[4] and the staff thought it "would be a bad idea to have a black sub-servient character" and so switched him to his intended color for his next episode. Smithers' skin tone was later explained as an "extreme tan".
It honestly does look like a ridiculous, extreme tan.

good homer hair or best homer hair?

edit: i'm falling in love with lunchtoast.

There's just *something* about the way Homer looked and spoke in this kind of era that was undoubtedly loveable. This was a much more naive-childlike-yet-adult Homer who still viewed the world with unjaded eyes. It was less that he was an outright idiot, more uneducated and with a lot of his own ideas of how the world worked.

I really used to love Homer so much. I could relate to Marge staying with him back then.

Jerk ass Homer can be comedy gold though.

Hurricane Neddy also has the awesome Rubiks cube scene.

"Use your main finger on the yellow side, and your other finger on the orange side."
"Orange to Orange"
"You gotta start backwards."
"Alternate corners!"
"Spin the middle side topwise. Topwise!"

I thought people hated Hurricane Neddy. That one and Homer's Enemy.

I personally love the two.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone hate Hurricane Neddy, at least not as much as people dislike Homer's Enemy and The Principal and the Pauper. And I used to go to NoHomers, where some dude had an irrational hatred for Last Exit to Springfield.

I haven't posted in here before, because when I first joined GAF, I felt like I had to read this entire thread... Needless to say, I was overwhelmed.

No regrets on the like... 140 pages I did read, though!

Probably the best feel good thread that everyone can enjoy.

Is there a compilation of all the lines that captain from the seafood restaurant had?

"Tis no man! Tis a remorseless eatin' machine."

Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious is on. To me, it's one of the first bad episodes the series had.

Sherry Bobbins singing Margaritaville with Barney is still a classic. As is her departure through the jet engine.
