Which SoCal LEGO store do you work at? My coworker and I are regulars at South Coast Plaza haha!

I work at the Mission Viejo store. I actually worked with Heather from South Coast yesterday at Glendale's store though. I'll probably work a few shift at South Coast in the future, so if you see a "Chuck" on a nametag, do say hello. :)

Im not feeling the sopwith, not really interested in that set...
Still plenty of other sets to get before I need to worry about that one.

It looks really awesome, and I love the functionality of it. But seeing all the rubber bands just saddens me. But it just makes complete sense that it needs them to actually work. I do love the dark green color scheme of it though.

Think I will hold off for now on it. But once a Red Baron plane comes out, I will have to get both.

Awesome will do. I occasionally stop by the MV store cause I'm insane like that, so if I'm ever down there I will look for ya too. I saw Heather for the first time on Wednesday I think it was and I go into that store ALL the time.

Went to the Frisco, TX store to see if they had the Minecraft set, and they said that the Lego stores won't be getting it in stock. Super bummed about this development.

Lol, just noticed what comes up when I enter Lego in my address bar
I was expecting Lego.com as the automatic option.

hmmmm....

Love the Seaside House, but just over 400 pieces for $50? For a Creator set?
Hmm true hadn't noticed that.
Rather expensive, and no super special parts that I can see

Damn you people...

It's either Fire Brigade or Mini Modulars. I'm pushing my stroller bound kid in circles in the store while I debate in my mind.

Mini modulars are still new, they will be around for another two years.
Get the fire brigade!

My LEGO store said that they would have it in sometime in June, but it is already available at the LEGO online store.

I can't take credit for this picture as my coworker made it. He is anxiously waiting to be a part of LEGOGaf, so if anyone has any pull and can get his account approved its xj550. Anyway this is the strip he made in Strip Designer on iOS.

Oh! I forgot to post the bunny suit guy keychain a coworker made for me.

It's pretty awesome. And I'm getting this guy next.

tomorrow Müller in germany will offer a 20% discount on Lego (well its 20% off all toys except videogames and books and stuff, but I hope LEGO is fine)

Went to my local Mueller today but didn't find many bargains. Most stuff was on MSRP and and in this fact not much better that the prices found on www.brickbadger.com.
Got five Series 7 Minifigures (2x Space Marine, Black Knight, Valkyrie, Bride) for 2€ each and was lucky to find a reduced 7985 Atlantis Temple for 32€ between the shelfs :)

Well, now I am going between the Shuttle, VW Camper (it is so universally loved), or mini modulars. I have about a week to decide. Going nuts and getting the last modular I need (Pet Shop) is out of my price range though.

Oh, man, you don't have any of those? You need all of them, so I guess you can't go wrong whichever you get. Illogic might suggest the shuttle as the oldest of the sets, my recommendation would be the camper - the entire build is like the 2nd floor of the fire brigade in terms of fun and 'oh, it does that' moments. But you love he modulars and I guess the minis could go OOP any time as a VIP exclusive?

Whichever you choose you'll love it, so I guess it's a good dilemma

I made the stand for the X-Wing last night and posted pics, but today I decided to try and make a cool one for the Y-Wing. Much easier to achieve and have secured to the model than the X-Wing. Just simply have the technic shafts go through the middle of the body of the ship.

The TIE Fighter will be odder to pull off due to the massive wings. The big boy will be the Falcon. The entire underside is technic bricks, so there are plenty of places to secure stands to. The trick for getting it at an angle is the sheer size of the model.

I get a kick out of the slapstick goofiness of the non-voiced Lego games, but if they use actual voice clips from the movies (as it seems like they do in the trailer??) then I'll get over it. :P

Word. It was actually funny to see how they would handle situations without voices... and they did it very well in the SW games (haven't played others)

Placed my first two Bricklink orders for the missing pieces from that thrift store technic set I found. I almost didn't bite on the second order as it includes the two flex cables needed...and holy shit they're expensive. I guess they weren't used in very many sets, as each cable is going for what I paid for the majority of the set.

All told I ended up spending about half of what used full sets are going for (though I know they would cost significantly more for shipping). I was mostly curious how Bricklink works.

Also, the idea of voices in the Lego games is bizarre to me. I like their charm, and a large part of that is the miming of notable scenes from the movies.

So I wussed out at the Lego store and bought nothing. But I will be going be back later because I really want that Batman & Robin pick-a-brick and I need to pick a Duplo set as a birthday gift for my buddy's two year old daughter.

I really want the Fire Brigade... but I'm just so hesitant. If I buy it, that's it for Lego for many many months. I doubt I'll even put it together for a while either, I just don't want to miss out on it.

Still waiting on eBay auctions to end too. Those funds will support the Brigade purchase.

I feel that the games have kinda mined all they could out of the pantomime.

I like it, but they've made what, 10 LEGO games so far that have done it? I think it worked best for Star Wars because it has such iconic moments so you immediately understand what's going on. Lego star wars 3 on the other hand was pretty incomprehensible and wasn't all that funny with its pantomime.

I think they have a lot of room to grow their humor by adding voice acting, not a ton, but a little bit of funny dialog could go a long way.

well Fire Brigade is a worthwhile purchase, and several months later you can buy the next modular that will soon go out of OOP, at least now you can catch up

Well you could be very right. I actually only played Star Wars 1 and 2, so not 3 (I think that is Clone Wars?) I've tried both Batman and Indy and didn't really like it...

..so maybe I should stfu haha :P

Hey would you mind letting me know when they get it? I would greatly appreciate it and I'm sure other people here in the Bay Area too.

They just called me, it's in!

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. What's next to go OOP Grand Emporium or Pet Shop?

Damn you LEGO GAF, please stomp bumping this thread. I have a LEGO store very close by and the temptation is killing me.

I remember when this tread had only around 3,000 replies a few months ago....

Maybe this is the time to get a town hall. Would it be rude to return the unopened sopwith camel that I bought today, then re-buy one at a discount?

No not really actually. In fact they should just give you the discount.

But it made me think... If you order/buy something worth X and get a special figure (like the hulk or that TC14) and then you return that order unopened... do you have to return that special figure too?
