I don't think this is like Xbox Live and 1 month cards, unless they started adding them in

I know if you buy a console brand new, you get the 1 month card code or that use 1 code and give 2 away to your friends promotion (which most used all 3 for themselves HAHA)

SCEE recently partnered up with Gamestop EU/AU to sell DLC so they'll probably start carrying codes soon. The article is short on the details, but at the moment it looks like Gamestop UK only has PSN voucher codes for £20/£50 online.

It starts the day you activate, adds 90 days till your expiration

You can still get $35+ worth of May's content "free"
Also other freebees from other months that free to play, I think Stacking/Mahjong, etc.

After your sub ends, games get locked out
All those game saves you saved into the cloud have a 6 month countdown, if you don't renew, they get erased

I think since it involves SCEE as well, the only logical thing is this will be the launch of PS++++ (working title) at a higher price which incorporates video and music as well as cloud gaming (US now, EU some time in 2050), voice chat, whatever.

Oh and you get access to the full steam service as well (just launched)

Existing subscribers get automatically upgraded for no extra cost.

Why not just say something like... "Our E3 conference and June offerings are going to convince you to sign up for PS+ if you're not already a member!" Instead of, "Now is the time, trust me. At least buy three months," before we have any idea why. It sounds like a warning. I'm probably reading too much in to it.
