E3 rumor regarding PlayStation Plus

I honestly don't know how to feel about this...I feel like I was bamboozled into buying this, but on the other hand, it's an awesome product and definitely worth 18$...
 
Eh 3 months, and I had to waste a 5 buck rewards voucher anyway. Maybe they'll do a discount on Gravity Rush, Gungnir, and Growlanser.
 
I just want it known that I had already seen that tweet, and it's actually part of the reason I wanted to get it now, just makes sense. Something cool is probably gonna be announced (though it will probably have nothing to do with "ambassadors"), but by subbing a couple days early I still get Trine, Awesomenauts, Rock of Ages, etc.
 
His wording was misleading, he made it sound like there were going to be legacy member benefits. But I'm still happy I got PS+ since Trine 2 and Rock of Ages have turned out to be incredibly fun. Especially Trine 2, it has an old school feel to the puzzles, you can tell that game hasn't been filtered through focus testing.
 
Remember when I joked and said that he was getting people to buy PS+ so they can boast about how many users with subscriptions they have now? :D

I can't wait for Tuesday to come though. I'm glad my doctor's appointment is on Monday since it will take me like 4 hours. I've been waiting for Sony and Nintendo's conferences. Nothing against MS but the other companies' IP's just interest me more.

There is in the US Store, it's under PS+ -> Last Chance. Anything that's listed in that one category is scheduled for removal in the next store update.

I'm not sure if the EU Stores have a similar category.

The discounts are amazing, the free games are getting to be higher and higher in quality and the automatic downloading and stuff is rad.



But let's not shit ourselves, it's all about the gold cross next to your name on the friends list that lets everyone know you are the fucking boss.

Ok ok seriously, I was thinking of getting + for awhile. There were some good discounts and other stuff that would likely have paid for itself, but I just didn't think it was a MUST HAVE

The only reason I was hoping this would turn sour was because I thought it would be fun to read all the angry posts from people who bought Plus just because of some vague, crazy rumor.
 
You know this doesn't mean there won't be a big playstation plus announcement. It just means you could have waited until after the conference to make that decision. Also those tweets were 4 days ago, i'm a bit surprised some of you are just seeing them now. At least the free may games are pretty solid, if that's any consolation.

I agree, he's just saying you'd all be bitching that you missed out on 'last months' content and be saying 'why didn't you warn us Sony'!

If all they delivered was a playable demo of Last of US I'd be happy!

I was meaning to resuscribe anyway. so i can play sly 1 again. I realised I have a lot of games from PS+

This is getting me even more excited for sony's conference.
 
I'm unclear about one aspect of this service. When free stuff is on PS+, you can't play it when your subscription runs out. What about stuff that is discounted on PS+? If I buy a game that is cheaper, and then my sub runs out, can I still play it? Or is it locked like the free games? Or do I have to pay the balance?

Any games that you buy with a PS+ discount are yours even if the subscription ends.
 
It's obvious his tweet meant get in while you can now so you can snag the May stuff. I would have had I more than a Vita.
 
There's still going to be 'the future of plus' discussed at E3. Don't know why people are having a meltdown about subbing, news from the conference will probably still be awesome.

Wait, I had no idea people thought we would get additional benefits from having subscribed before E3 started. Where did this come from? The guy's tweet seems more like "now's the time to get one" in the sense of this timeframe, now necessarily right before E3 for added benefits. I assumed people were getting it because of the revamp/vita rumors and possible streaming deal.

It come from absolutely nowhere. People read a Tweet and ran with it. Absolutely ridiculous.

I think they are complaining because they thought they would miss something otherwise. People normally like to take a wait and see approach, specially when talking with their hard earned money. Since there's apparently no risk of waiting, that would be the smart thing to do.
 
Shit, I forgot to renew it on the weekend (it expired on Thursday!). Does anyone know if I can do it via PC? I'm at work and probably won't be able to get home in time before the press conference.

EDIT: Orly? I just read some more of this thread. SO, to be clear, the only "rush" was in order not to miss out on May's PS+ perks? Rly??
 
Little confused by the sudden outburst of rage. First off that tweet was posted in one of these PS+ threads days ago, second it doesn't say there won't be anything announced at E3 as we pretty much know by now something will happen.

All that tweet was saying was sign up now to grab the May stuff before it went away.
 
Question about plus.

The games that I have downloaded for free from the plu section. Will the trophies I earn on those games disappear when my subscription ends?
 
I'll admit, this thread made me finally pull the trigger and get a 3 month subscription. Hopefully something great comes from being a + member already, but even if not, the amount of freebies I got was well worth the 18 bucks and I can see myself extending to a year before my membership expires.
 
I signed up on the off-chance I might get something cool out of it, but I'm not going to get bent out of shape if nothing comes of it at E3. I made the decision to take a gamble based on nothing more than speculation, so it'd be stupid for me to start pointing fingers and gripe about being ripped off if I'm unsatisfied.
 
Well something is changing w/r/t PS+, as they are hyping it on the blog.

Honestly I re-upped based on cloud saves and the proper update mechanism almost by itself... I can't go back.
