Microsoft E3 Press Conference Predictions

More embarrassing Kinect-related nonsense, perfect for new GIFs.
Even more services for XBL that have nothing to do with videogames.
Live demos of the yearly COD and Halo.

That't about it. I'd be shocked if they actually show something new.

We already know most of the MS conference. Doubt they will have time for much else.

If all of that is confirmed then that's not a truly terrible conference on paper like the last 2-3 years.

South park, tomb raider, ac3, re6 and alan wake 2 could be very interesting.

Must resist responding to Derrick... jeeze.

Why? I gave a pretty realistic prediction.

Halo 4, Gears of War Judgement, Dance Central 3, Alan Wake 2, Splinter Cell 6, Dead Rising 3, Kinect stuff, Apps, and Price Cut

All they need to do is show off a couple more great XBLA titles and it will reaffirm why the 360 is pretty much the only console that meant much of anything to me this gen. I'd be surprised if Microsoft and/or Sony allow Nintendo to be the only one hyping a new console.

I say it'll be an 80/20 mix of

ZW062.gif

and stuff that's actually worth caring about, similar to last year. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Halo 4, but that's about it.

if you want xbla titles, you need to watch the pre-show on gametrailers. thats where the xbla stuff will be.

Halo 4, Gears of Cole, Forza, Kinect and for a finisher -> UE4 demo with a "it's too soon to talk about it, but this ran on our next console's hardware".

Probably will be Kinect only with a Black Ops 2 demo though....

Halo 4, Black Ops II, Forza Horizon, new Gears of War and Kinect stuff. A lot of Kinect stuff. Too much Kinect stuff. And a bunch of apps.

I don't think that we'll see anything next-gen related, though.

I don't expect it to happen, but all I want from MS is just a hint of what they're putting together for their next console. Even if they only announce the name I'd be happy.

Bunch of services gamers won't care about.

God dammit I thought I was a gamer. Now I find out that I'm not because I love HBO Go, Amazon video On Demand, ESPN 3 etc etc. Damn my ability to love more than one form of entertainment at a time.

Thanks for the heads-up. XBLA is where the gaming gold seems to be this gen.

I'm hoping for a few funky kinect features... like a more Siri-like interface, with the dashboard talking back and everything (and if possible, a confirmation of voice recognitin feature in non-english speaking countries >:( ).

As for games... shooters, cars, whatever. The usual.

halo, gears, forza and fable still on repeat forever. third party demos. then kinect casual orientated stuff.

i think they might switch it up and not show call of duty this year.

If anything, Microsoft pressers usually move really quick and aren't horribly bloated like Sony's have been for years.

Even if there's not a whole bunch of crazy shit revealed or stuff you nessasarily care about, they do run a tight conference. I can always appreciate that.

I like Amazon on demand too, I don't need it taking up precious time at a GAME conference. They can announce that shit any time of the year, it's not a big enough deal for most gamers.

That would actually be awesome. And pretty realistic too. Maybe not a full on reveal. I just dont know why MS would let Nintendo have the spot light this year =/

I think the second to last thing to be shown will be the new Gears of War and then epic will tease something UE4 related.

Gears of War Judgement
Halo 4
Forza Horizon
Fable: The Journey
New Twisted Pixel Games project(The Maw 2 please!)

Resident Evil 6 from Capcom
Tomb Raider from Sqeidos
South Park from THQ
Dance Central 3 from Harmonix
Splinter Cell Blacklist from Ubisoft
Kinect support in EA sports games from EA

New family games for Kinect. I could see Harry Potter Kinect getting some stage time at the conference. Maybe a new Kinect Sports? Or a new game from Good Science?

New apps and services. Internet Explorer, Xbox Smart Glass, "Woodstock".

I don't think there's going to be a lot of surprises at the conference. Mostly because most of the games have been announced beforehand. Ryse showing up would really surprise me though.

Kinect stuff
Xbox Live Apps and streaming services
Halo 4
Forza x
Gears prequel
Alan Wake 2
CoD Blops 2
Tomb Raider or Hitman
Resident Evil 6

Halo4, Forza Horizon, the next GeoW are confirmed. I also expect Ryse, some top tier third party games and kinect titles. If you add the indispensable interface-dashboard stuff, you pretty much have a quite meaty conference, poised to be a better show than the last couple of years'!

-Focus on new services on XBL
-Focus on core gaming (Halo/Gears/Forza)
-Kinect
-Megaton?

the only megaton i could see happen:

-alan wake 2 teaser with xbox? at the end
-final fantasy versus 13 now coming to 360 (not a megaton but a surprise)
-here is a glimpse of the future of xbox "shows short teaser reel for next xbox, ends with: see you next year."

The only thing that is remotely exciting to me about the microsoft presser is the tiny, tiny glimmer of hope that they will reveal their next console.
I'm getting awfully tired of this gen.

-Halo 4
-Forza Horizon
-Kameo 2
-Kinect stuff
-Black Ops 2 demo
-More Kinect stuff
-Gears prequel
-End conference with Shenmue 3

I predict a lot of video of athletic models of various ethnicity (and all in their mid 20s) in ikea showrooms, grinning like loons at the camera while doing poses to show kinect gameplay.

Also a lot of sales figures!

EDIT:

Well, I say sales figures, I actually mean a lot of percentages being thrown around, with global and NA percentages used intermittently and deliberately confusingly.

Unless they've got unnannounced stuff, there shouldn't be as many potentially embarrassing Kinect demonstrations this year. Fable: The Journey, new Harmonix game and a bunch of services is all I can think of; third party conferences should cover the rest. Last year it was Kinect Sports/Kinect Star Wars/Disneyland Adventures, all of which were always going to produce sickly sweet and terribly acted demos. I think this year they have more first/third party/Xbox Live stuff to fill in the blanks.

the twisted pixel game will probably use kinect, avatar motocross madness (?).

Megaton ending announcement: Everyone in attendance gets an envelope full of money!

Also, halo, forza, black ops, gears, and kinect complete with fitness/dance/sports demo that goes on way too long. Media stuff too that I don't care about...do they have nfl, mlb, nhl sub stuff? Maybe something like that if they don't already.

Some sort of video tease of next gen wouldn't surprise me like they did for Kinect with Project Natal. They won't even call it the next xbox, they'll just refer to upcoming future devices. Stuff that they're working on for the coming years and how all these services and devices will work together through windows 8. We'll see a preview of windows8 integration and some graphics that are beyond what the current console can do. So that will be the hint.

Als, 360 pricedrop and another redesign featuring a 32nm XGPU.

If they show the kinect DBZ game or Harry Potter, there could be a few silly demos (especially once they're turned into sped up gifs). "Not Panzer Dragoon" and Steel Battalion would be more serious though.

They'll spend 15 seconds going "The Gears and Halos and things"

They usually start with a 10 minutes long demo of a "Gears and Halos and things" game.

They'll spend 15 seconds going "The Gears and Halos and things" and then spend the rest of their time pretending like they still have a chance of convincing me that buying a Kinect isn't beyond idiotic.

This conf needs one or two megatons for my taste, the 360 (as much a I like the console) has not surprised me for a loooooonnnngggg time.
