Does PS Vita exist / Lack of Vita games at E3

bwahahaha.

My big question is, where the fuck were all the games from last year?

Killzone and Ruin specifically come to mind.

Really unfortunate that sony gave the system a vote of no confidence today. It really sucks because the vita has everything I want in a handheld.

I still have high hopes for the kind of apps/games we'll see when PlayStation Suite (now PlayStation Mobile) is available, though that would require them to update the Vita properly (push notifications for all apps and games, a better store, an update to the 'Near' app to actually make it compelling and fun to use, etc).

We'll see. I'm sure there are more things to come, but from where I'm standing - as a customer and as a 'hardcore' gamer - there's just not much to be looking forward to right now. And that's a bad thing for a €299 device (3G model).

On the other hand, they probably just need more time. And it's hard getting third parties on board when the sales are not going very well. I get that. But what worries me the most, is that they're not even trying to make people feel that "it's going to be alright". I'm afraid that, when the big titles finally drop, it might be too late.

The problem with waiting for TGS to 'save' Vita is that anything announced there - if it even gets localized - isn't going to hit the West until Mid-2013 at the earliest. Vita needs hype for titles now that will hit in the next 4-5 months for the holiday season.
This is also assumes that the japanese titles announced at TGS will be relevant to anyone outside the regular clique of obscure loving JRPGers :( Not sure if Square are willing to bet a Final Fantasy on such a poorly performing platform :S

Wha... whe... how!? link link link

In the post-show Sony is doing, there was a section that a guy was introducing the Sony booth at E3. There was a part that was a Vita booth, just after they show Sine Mora and there was the japanese Miku logo in the background.

Someone must have the screencap.

At least that made up my mind. ipad 3 it is. It's going to be funny showing this Vita to people in 10 years. "Holy shit, you bought one of those!?"

I'll lie and say I got it used at $99

My kids will never know I bought one at launch, they shouldn't have to carry that embarrassment

Shocked at how little Sony showed for Vita. Not ONE new title? This is just pathetic.

I will keep the system, and enjoy it while it lasts. But I have no illusions that this system will take off and get a huge library of quality games. It will have a decent selection of ports and a unique game here and there.

Might have to f*cking buy an iPad for good mobile games.

So AC Liberation, Vita COD, PS1 support and new apps announced at the event means it doesn't exist. This blind Vita hate is pathetic and I don't even care for handheld gaming.

That's what was said about E3. It's over in the West, the Vita is dead here, and Sony doesn't seem to care.

Yeah, kept hearing about how E3 was make or break for Vita and now some people are changing gears to TGS. TGS won't be that different, I'd expect.

You guys realize theres still 3 days of E3 left yea? They can't put everything in their press conference.

The conference sets the tone. They spent damn near half an hour on a kids game and nothing on their $250 handheld which is on life support.

Priorities.

They can put more than 1 first party game for their struggling handheld in the biggest spotlight of the year I think.

I think.

=/
I am no fan of the vita, but still.. man that was awful for any owner.. I hope they do something, one of my friend bought one not long ago and was telling me how it has no games right now (he doesn't even own a game for vita!). I was telling him "It was the same for the 3ds, I went through it too, just hold on a little longer"
=/

There's absolutely a chance that there will be Vita presence on the floor but why are they so poor at managing their 1 hour and 30 minutes that they can't even squeeze in a short montage for the Vita games? Sony messed up.

A game they barely showed, a game they didn't show, PSone Classics which don't have a date aside from before 9/21, and apps is a terrible conference, no matter how you slice it.

The problem with that, and why i made the comparison to PSP is that if you are not into RPG's or those niche titles you probably won't be happy with Vita. Just like how GTA psp wasn't enough to win gamers into those type of games to the PSP. I'm not sure Assassins and CoD will be enough to win people to Vita.

To be fair, it is a haven for fighters. UMVC3, blazblue, MK and now SFxT. It needs a lot of new IPs, to be sure.

Here's what I think will happen.

The PS Vita will become the standard controller for the PS4. You'll get one with the console, and developers will have a standard to work with - so all PS4 games will use the second screen.

Well at least there would be the irony of Nintendo adding clicky sticks and Sony taking them away...
