Nintendo E3 2012 Conference Thread

Do people really think this was worse than Microsoft's? Really? It may not have been great but it at least had games with one of those being Pikmin 3 and another being a new Paper Mario.

Halo 4 was 100x more exciting than anything Nintendo showed.

That was an absolutely forgettable conference.

Pikmin was a good start, but the whole thing was just ports and shit filler.
Didn’t seem like such a great push for Wii U, don’t know what I expected, but I wanted more then what we got.
Don’t care about 3DS at all.

Ubi: 7/10
Sony: 5/10
EA: 4/10
MS: 3/10
Nin: 2/10

Now's the part where Nintendo releases trailers and fact sheets for a dozen cool games that weren't featured in the conference, right? That's how it often goes with Nintendo.

Right?!

I just don't get it. There are no words to describe all the things wrong with the presentations.

Launch details? NONE

No price, launch date, and not even any confirmation of what games will be available for launch.

And of all the games to highlight a brand new system they chose Just Dance 4? WTF WTF?

What about the first party games? Pikmin and 2D Mario and that's it? WTF? Where is the Retro title? Or any familiar franchise? Or new franchises?

Where was EA? Wasn't EA on stage last year? And this year?

And to top it off no details about the online structure. I just couldn't think Nintendo could fuck it up this bad but they did even worse than any nightmare I could have imagined.

How can a company be so clueless and brain dead about a launch and what excites gamers? When at the start he said they won't focus on the entertainment apps today and it will be all about the games I thought great we will see a barrage of games 1st and 3rd party. Instead we get to see about 5 games while they repeat over and over the same talking points.

Fuck this shit. When are we supposed to get more details? When the hell is the launch?

Valve wins E3 by announcing Linux support by 2013. Fuck everyone else. I had dreams of eventually going to E3. But after this, no fucking way.

From the sounds of it even the hired audience couldn't muster up a convincing clap at the end. I'm surprised he wasn't booed off for ending on that mini game crap. If that's seriously the best Wii u can do it is in big trouble.

Spike about to show a new Wii U game from a "big" developer.

There is still hope....

Hardcore WiiU fan? You might want to come back to Spike for the reveal of "Project P-100" live on our Show....from a HUGE developer :)

Geoff just said they would show a new Wii U game by a "huge developer" that wasn't at the conference, and it's a brand new game.... Retro please God?

I'm expecting more exciting news outside the conference, which is par for the course for Nintendo. But man.. that conference. :\

Well, that's it, I'm going PC. I might pick up a Wii U in a few years, if it gets a nice Zelda game. Now, the 3DS conference has to have SOMETHING...right? ....guys?

They should have ended with Pikmin 3 if that was all they were going to show. Pikmin looks gorgeous, but Nintendo really needed more. I'm wondering if these games are just the titles that will be at launch window and they will announce more later, because it's really disappointing if that's all they have prepared for the system.

The Wii got a Zelda port, a gorgeous 3D Mario, Metroid Prime 3, Red Steel, and arguably excite trucks for the "hardcore"at E3 2006.

Wii U gets Pikmin 3, Zombi U, and arguably Super Mario U for the "hardcore."

With that said, I will probably buy if they are good:

1. Pikmin 3
2. New Super Mario Bros U
3. Rayman Legends
4. Lego City Stories
5. Zombi U
6. Nintendoland

So, yes... I am personally happy, but it was very underwhelming.

WiiFit was barely exercise to start. Now let's add in an expensive tablet for you to hold onto/limit your movement further! That'll surely burn the calories!

This post conference online video is far, far more entertaining than the actual conference. I hope I'm not the only one who saw that guy giving birth.

Spike gots a hands on demo with Zombiu coming up as well as an unnamed mystery title by a "power-house" studio to reveal. Could it be Retro? Why do I get my hopes up? Especially after how terrible that conference was. Also going to be on GameTrailers apparently (Geoff's own words).

Genuinely shocked to be writing this, but my rating:

F.

Started out well enough with Pikmin, but it just dragged on and on with nothing exciting or interesting to say or show.

Closing out your launch with a mini-game collection is beyond weak.

Hideous.
