Pragmata - Reviews Thread

I'm very tempted to snag this, but Saros is just around the corner. May do both, but that is normally not my thing to juggle two games at once.

Nice, it's good to see Capcom on an experimental era again with this game, Kunitsu Gami and even Exoprimal, not many Devs outside of Indies have the balls to experiment nowadays.

It reminds me of their 2000s weird unique games like Viewtiful Joe, God Hand, Chaos Legion, P.N.03, etc.

People said the same thing with Pragmata until they played demo….don't judge gameplay too soon especially when it comes to Capcom games.
Exactly. I am one of the people who thought that Pragmata looked alright until I've played the demo. It was so good that not only did it convince me to buy it, but I've played through the demo multiple times to get all drawings. If they release a demo for Onimusha, and it's good, I will buy it. Even without Jean Reno.

Watched a few reviews.

Seems like game is more of a complete package instead of excelling in any one category.

I thought gameplay was somewhat undercooked for what it should have been, in the demo.

Might get it, not too sure. Probably time to try out demo again. If it doesn't work for me, it doesn't….

here we go again GIF

Didn't plan to grab it right at launch, but well... Capcom does it again.

Mfers will brag about dropping 2K on a high end PC but a game that can already be found for 20 dollars less is too much. Bro I get why devs would skip PC when they see shit like this all the time + people saying they buy PC just to pirate.
Nobody skips PC in 2026 least of all Capcom.

Nice way to start a plateform war

It's reviewing well…but exactly how annoying is the girl? From the trailers she seems supppper annoying.
I hate banter in games. I hate Atreus, all that. Somehow I thought this game did it well in the demo. I think people misunderstand the tone a bit from promo material. It's very lighthearted and doesn't take itself very seriously, it's very old school Arcade-y in attitude imo. So that made it work for me and I was shocked that I actually found the banter fun.

Just my two cents, maybe others hate it but it fit with the tone perfectly.

Goddamit the hardest difficulty opens up after finishing the game on the journalist difficulty...

I wanna know who the fuck came up with the idea that people need to experience the whole fucking game on some easy, brain dead autopilot i.e spoil the game first before they are allowed to enjoy it?

Already pre-ordered it. Can't wait to play it on the PS5 Pro. This is the kind of game that really gets me going, special experiences like Ico, AAA without the generic stuff.

Opencritic has more reviews and better rating than Metacritic

I never understand these websites and they way the operate
It's like here and ResetEra: same threads, same reactions, but the flavour is slightly different. And you can't react there unfortunately.

Genuinely reviewing better than I expected considering the gameplay looks awful.
yep. I didn't like anything I've seen in the trailers. Felt like Ashley quests dialed up to eleven, or trying to make TLoU childish cute and techy at the same time. But might actually be an at least decent game. I am certainly not against that. lol

I actually like banter in games, if it's good, interesting, well delivered, or funny/entertaining. She just seemed annoying. Plus side, there's a demo so I'll give that a go see if she's bearable

Im one of those who had this on their radar, but was gonna wait on a sale or something…but then I played the demo and the reviews….and oh boy.

This week alone is crazy…

Hades 2
Mouse PI
Pragmata

But then there's Saros at the end of the month.

Fuck.

I was thinking the same... but I had 11 days to play this and beat it a few times. If its as short as people say, that shouldn't be an issue and I can roll into Saros

Speaking of, we need a new Viewtiful Joe.

Maybe next pay I'll pick this up especially with it being $60. Don't know if I want to do PC or Switch 2 though.

Maybe it is too much compared to some 200+ hours games. 🤷‍♂️

Pre-ordered it. My gaming diet recently is 95% indie and emulation.
I need some new games which actually put my 2k PC though its paces and uses the Deee-ehl-ESSSESS stuff.

Are the Deluxe edition items early unlocks or true exclusive stuff? Capcom generally gates some of those items behind deluxe edition exclusives.

Such a weird comparison.

So is Blade Runner a worse movie for only being 2 hours long because Return of the King is 4 hours and 20 minutes?

Jet Set Radio Future is my favorite game of all time and can be knocked out in 4-6 houra, but that doesn't invalidate my love of Death Stranding which is 40 hours long.

Why pay the money for a PC just to play stuff that's Chromebook tier in terms of power required, like Slay The Spire 2, and not experience everything your machine could do with AAA titles like Pragmata.

Who the hell actually wants 200 hours of Assassins Creed?

Anywho, my copies secured.

Only gave the demo a go because it was a Capcom game, not really into sci-fi settings but was very pleasantly surprised, definitely want to try more of this.

if recent Capcom games are anything to go by, this will have replayability.

Of course we will see.
Also recently I just spend 100 + hours on MHStories 3 and love every minute of it but also I dont want play another game with 100 hours play time.

I'm on PC but this attitude is annoying. Why pay 1500-2000 on a PC just to brag about cheap Indies you can play on a laptop?

Ehh I dunno. I already bought Pragmata but cheap indies StS2 and Mewgenics are probably my favorite games this year. I already know I will put more hours in those 2 games than I will Pragmata. Not wanting to pay $50 for a 10 hour game is valid. I don't mind personally but I get it. And Capcom games generally get cheap pretty fast.

You can do that on a laptop dude lol.
