Sure, thanks Chubigans, I didn't see that thread when I was scrolling the page looking for it. Lol. I'll probably do another post with the rest of my impressions, as that one is pretty long as is.

Sadly, Bukana, I'm only went for today. I wanted to go for all 3 days, but I hate to take off so many days of work. I have a 3 day pass, but my friends called dibs on the next two days. Lol. I saw Jet Grind, and it looked really cool, but I didn't get to play it, sadly. I've never played a JGR before, so I'm really interested in the Vita version.

Are there any common/notable hardware failure issues to look out for when buying a vita?

There are about 8 vitas that popped up on craigslist with a game or two and memory sticks for 150ish.

A few of the posts read like Sony stabbed their family after their E3 presser oh god.

Only really interested in a better frame rate wipeout and Persona 4 Golden edition so if these bundle prices keep falling I might get one eventually.

I think Edge summed it up best in their review of Microsoft's press conference.

It sounds like we’re having a lot of fun at Microsoft’s expense here, but it’s gallows humour. Either publishers were genuinely withholding all their games (unlikely), or this was one of the most contemptuous press conferences in E3 history. Returning to the stage before the anticlimactic Call Of Duty: Black Ops II, even Mattrick seemed to be in on some private joke, smirking as he remembered his lines. If anyone was taking this seriously, they were on the wrong side of the stage.

I think you could apply that a bit to all 3 platform holders. They know you'll buy their crap sequels, so here's Wonderbook and Smart Glass and Wii Fit U. Enjoy. I don't think there's anything wrong with being a bit cynical about E3 this year.

LBP Vita: Amazing visuals. Same fun LBP game play. I can't wait.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time: Visuals disappointed me a bit during cutscenes (no cel-shading it looked like), but the visuals when actually playing the level were sharp as hell. Game was fun too. I love Sly.

Gravity Rush: They had the full game there, so I got to play a mission that was longer and more involved than the painfully short demo. Visuals were great, controls were great, fun, fun ,fun game. I cannot WAIT until next Tuesday.

PS One Classics: I played Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, and Final Fantasy VII. They had more, but those were running. I was impressed with how they looked on the Vita. TR is horribly slow and clunky. The genre has evolved too much to make that a title I want to revisit.

FFVII looked surprisingly good on the screen, even though it was only running at 4:3, and it is, in my opinion, the "least attractive" of the PS1 Final Fantasies. The Sony guy there assured me that there would be options to make it full screen, and map the controls. It was set to Japanese style controls. I'm really looking forward to playing SOTN, Alundra, FFIX, Chrono Cross, and Vagrant Story on my Vita. They will look amazing.

PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale Vita: Visuals were super impressive and sharp. I played against PS3 and other Vita players (2 Vita, 2 PS3). Controls were nice and smooth. The combat was fun and hectic, and the KO with supers only wasn't bad, and was actually kind of fun, as you need to have an opening to pull of the super, but you can be interrupted by people. It was hilarious yelling at the other people to gang up on the Kratos that had a full Level 3 super, and was trying to unleash it on all of us.

First round, I played as Kratos on Vita, and got served. Second round, I played as Sly Cooper on PS3 and got even more served (Sly feels like an advanced player character; he's super quick and agile, and his various skills seem like they have some strategy to using them). Third round, I played as Kratos again on PS3, and that time I came in first!

I'm a huge Smash Bros fan, and this feels similar, and yet, different. I really enjoyed it, and they mentioned that they are looking to do a two pack deal like with MLB The Show, where you pay $80(USD) or something, and get the PS3 and Vita versions.

If so, then sign me up. I'd probably get the Vita version, if I only had to choose one, because it looked amazing on that screen.

The colors are a lot more vibrant on both PS3 and Vita.

It was actually kind of funny, because I was playing on the Vita, but I could also just look up at the screen, and play it on the TV, without having to play on the Vita. But, dat screen.

I think a lot of the negative reactions to this game are blown out of proportion. After spending some time with it, I think it's awesome. I'll be there day one for this one.

It's a shame, because there were some other games on Vita that looked awesome that I didn't have time to play(and I wasn't allowed to play Guacamelee), but it's disappointing that Sony didn't mention any of those games at E3, or showed them during their conference. It gives the impression that the Vita doesn't have anything, but I think there was significant floor space dedicated to it. There were rows of Vita's, all playing various games.

Also, Sound Shapes looked AWESOME, but I didn't have time to play it (and there were quite a few people waiting in line too).

Might be wrong, but I think those are mainly by Nintendo fans still bitter about it being nothing but a SSB clone. Surprised LBPK doesn't get a lot of hating as well.

Hope you get the best price you can and really enjoy the Vita.

I think it is silly that people are abandoning the Vita because they didn't hear what they thought they should and are interpreting that as a lack of support on Sony's part.

I've played mine since mid March almost everyday and haven't run out of anything to play on it. If anything, the Vita is hurting my PS3 games backlog; especially with all of the titles that were just released on PS+.

I'm looking forward to Persona 4 on Vita as well. It looks good. I can't wait.

EDIT: How big is Gravity Rush supposed to be.
 
So I've read there's more than 20 Vita titles on the sjowfloor, can someone mzke a list ? (I hope PS1 titles are not counted)

Looked boring to me too, but 99% of the games look boring to me (even games I enjoy playing like GOW), unless it's some new cool shit I'm really looking forward to or out of left field like TLOU or Watch Dogs. I guess my point was I see a lot of Ninty fans really bitching about the game in every PSAB thread I go in. The game may still ultimately suck, but seeing some non biased hands on impressions is welcome.
 
So I was posting yesterday in a thread about Vita doom that the next Vita Games Heaven in Japan (later in June) was going to have a reveal of a game that is going to be huge.


I was just told "don't expect much out of Vita Games Heaven" by a different person.




I doubt any of the same people are reading this thread that were reading that thread... but i figured I'd pass that along. He wasn't convinced it was gonna be a shit conference, like the first, but he said that getting any info out of Japan has been nearly impossible and it's just rumors at this point, even within the company.



Ugh.


Anyway, i'm glad we are getting solid impressions from the floor of games. A friend of mine (who is not the person im quoting above) is there showing off Smart As. Give it a whirl, I know he is really proud of it.
 
Also, I have a few friends there that are trying to dig up some vita info for me for my site. I'm not posting any of it, yet, until I get some sort of confirmation. But it's juicy enough rumors for neogaf.



PSone is being whispered for August.


In fact, one guy got a pretty vague "August is going to be a huge vita os update." What does that mean? I dont know. It could something awesome like streaming! But it won't. It probably means folders and new background colors or some shit.


Madden supposedly looks like dogshit. Basically plays like the ipad version with buttons.



CoD is a total no show. It's not in sony's booth. Its not in activision's booth. It's not anywhere. I think it's vaporware, for this year atleast, but instead people are saying "no, it will come out, it will probably just suck." *sigh*


Bioshock vita is pretty much vaporware. Don't expect it until long after infinite, which isn't even until 2013.


PSN- level games to be a bigger focus going forward as sony is making bank from PvZ, Escape Plan, Hustle Kings, Stardust and Mutant Blobs. This makes me very happy as I love that level of game. I will buy $10 games of decent quality every damn week.

My intent was to do the opposite. I was initially told that the gaming heaven broadcast was gonna be huge. Now folks seem to be dialing down expectations.



The problem is that everyone I get info from, which isn't many people, are in the US and Europe. News out of japan tends to come in the form of rumors. Sometimes they are right now... like I heard (and told to chubigans) that PSO-2 was gonna be at the first one. And it was.

Then I heard a pretty amazing IP (amazing for hardcore gamers, not necessarily sales...) was going to be at this one. But now I'm not sure if that's true anymore. There seems to be a lot of confusion between the western territories and Japan currently.

Though, when you think about it, I don't think that they are gonna make this Broadcast unless they announce something new and exciting while promoting other titles, right!?

Anyone else playing Hustle Kings? The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly when you get 40-50% into the career mode. I wish it let you fast forward through CPU shots. Sometimes they will make like 10 shots in a row and all you can do is stare at the screen, waiting.

Also, the online seems to be kinda dead. There were a few rooms going on but I was hoping it would be more active.
 
Instead of being doom and gloom about my Vita I decided to brush off the dust and check out Where is My Heart? and Mutant Blobs.
Great decision on my part I must say.
 
Is there anyway to get Where is my Heart on the vita without dling it to a ps3 and transferring it? I've looked through the U.S. psn store and it definitely isn't listed on the vita itself.
 
I'd love to hear details on the PSOne emulator on the Vita. Some games like Parasite Eve control much better with an analog stick and I'd love for that to be an option.

What's the best place to import games from America to UK?
There's a couple of games coming out (Persona 4g, Ragnarok Odyssey) that I just cba waiting for them to be released in Europe.

That wouldn't surprise me. Sure they announced "this summer" at the conference, but that Japanese PSone trailer for Vita has me thinking it might be sooner than later.

Has anyone tried the niconico app? Is there any content worth watching on the site?

From what I can see, you can't even watch videos without making an account, and I don't really want to give my information away to something I'm not going to use. Looks like a bunch of shitty trailers and youtube response-type videos on their front page.

there's not really much you can do with the niconico app at the moment. You are better off just visiting niconico on the PC.

I used it to watch the MS press conference from work, but that's all I've used it for so far. It'll be better if they let people do live streaming with it (which it says is coming soon)
