Nintendo 3DS Software Showcase [E3 2012] - Trolls, come see how it's done.

So that's at least four games confirmed for North America not mentioned in the show:

- Code of Princess
- Fire Emblem
- Unchain Blades
- Zero Escape

Very odd omissions...

Whiners.

I can understand the anger over yesterday. They had nothing impressive to show.

They might have all been announced long ago, but they had a lot of bad-ass games on display today.
I thought the line up was pretty good. I was just pissed FE wasn't mentioned at all. That game is actually done already!

"BTW guys, FE is coming to NA". Geez, they really have no idea how to create hype and excitement.

something something internet boards. Who else watches this shit from there home? action figure and grandpa says hi.

Reggie was playing Fire Emblem on his aqua blue 3ds while he had an augmented shithead do the presser. He did not give a shit.

Paper Mario looks stupid , I already hate that sticker system already , Castlevania looks ugly and sluggish. Kingdom Hearts, I just haven't been interested in since Kingdom Hearts 2. I just don't care about NSMB2 either.

Exactly.
Its like Iwata knew the reaction wouldn't be received well, so he just stepped back and said...fuck you not doing this.
Miyamoto, all he did was show a wonderful game, and be adorable alongside Pikmin.

Miyamoto was king and god for the five minutes he was on stage. Whistle-blowing for his translator? Pretending to throw pikmin around? The world's most adorable man, clearly. It's a good thing they keep him out of the splash zone of Nintendo's stupidly disappointing decision-making.

Brilliant.

What in gods name was the purpose of this conference!? I simply don't get it. Showing old shit to people who've already seen it? I get the feeling Nintendo has no idea who their audience is. If they have nothing to show, they really shouldn't hold an event in the first place.

What I also don't get is why NoA seems to be so afraid of Japanese games. If they want to show something already known, show Soul Hackers or Code of Princess or something, not this Transformers shovelware shit. Nobody give a fuck about that game. We already know it'll suck.

so no one knows. and when its out they can say "oh no one bought it so no more FE for anyone lulz"

So that at E3 2013, Fire Emblem can be their "unannounced game" that makes an appearance.

Because confirming to someone while walking out of a press conference is not an announcement you guys.

Is Nintendo just ignoring 2013 at this point? Like everything they've shown was 2012. There's 6 months of 2013 before the next E3.

Fail.

Retailers aren't interested in the 1st half of 2013. They and the general public are focused on the next six months. That's largely what E3 is all about.

So FE(yay) is 2013. Animal Crossing probably is, though I don't know where the rumors for that even started...they have such a 2012 focus this year that is weird as hell. They started doing that with the wii, only revleaing stuff soon to come out, but stuff like the wii u really needed talked about more to see what's actually happening beyond the first few months.

Really poor planning...

there are some pretty good 3D trailers in the estore.

Luigi's Mansion looks great.

Also, that FE confirmation is not good enough. I want a date now.

Paper Mario looks really good, as does New Super Mario Bros. 2. Fire Emblem coming to North America is nice, but it's probably a 2013 game.

Still no Picross-e though. :(

Anyone complaining about the 3DS lineup needs to get a grip.

Nintendo is releasing Luigi's mansion, NSMB2 and Paper Mario later this year. Don't forget about the 2 pokemon games. Fire Emblem is coming, so there is no need to worry. And don't forget about 3d part games, and Professor Layton.

Nintendo released a Zelda game last year, so announcing a new Zelda game seems a bit premature. Animal Crossing is still being worked on, and will probably come out next year.

There is no reason to announce new games that won't even come out this year, when they have so many games already announced and aren't even out yet!!

I wouldn't worry about FE.

Just trust me.

I'm less worried about FE and more just confused about Animal Crossing and Layton. They'll come but the timing is just odd. Actually, NoA's 3DS release schedule has been odd from the get-go. They have a weird strategy in place.

1. say crap lego demo is on eshop now
2. show nsmb2
3. say that its going to be on show floor tomorrow and then "For those watching online..."
4. "...go cry to your momma cause you're not playing it any time soon, lol"

3DS first year crushes 3DS year two.

I can no longer get excited about E3. I was spoiled by the awesome 2005 conference with the last second Twilight Princess showing. Nothing will ever top that. Hell, 2002 E3 was just amazing with Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Eternal Darkness and Star Fox Adventure all in one show. Where is THAT Nintendo?

Really? I disagree.

It's not Nintendo who let me down, it's the 3rd parties.
What?

On the Wii U Nintendo hasn't shown one BIT of "Big Nintendo Title in HD" that we were expecting. Really ... they shown nothing for it besides Pikmin and that damn Mario game they have been playing for the last year.

I wonder if Fire Emblem is actually planned for a Jan/Feb/Mar window which is why they didn't show it. I'm sure they could have had it localized and ready for the holidays, but maybe they felt it would get lost in the shuffle with Mario this, Mario that, and Luigi coming this year. Plus, they probably realize how deadly droughts on Wii / 3DS have been when it comes to customer perception.

every gamer should just quit gaming if all you want is a video of a game that comes out in 2 years to masturbate to. Stop hyping up E3 I did 4 years ago and wow do I love it now. A megaton WILL NEVER HAPPEN get over it and enjoy all the great games this year.

Thanks - Reggie

I was honestly smiling the whole time Miyamoto was up. He did absolutely nothing wrong here at E3.

That was a joke about how their WiiU conference had a lot of old 360/PS3 ports. All of these are new but previously revealed titles.

Ah. I'm not saying these games don't look great, it's just they've looked great for a year now. Give me something else to look forward to.

The sticker system in paper Mario looks idiotic, how much are they try to dumb down this series?

The fuck? How does evolving a combat system dumb down a series?

Nintendo showed too much of their 2012 3DS releases during E3 2011. They made up for it by showing nothing being released in 2013 at E3 2012.

As I said before, the current lineup is fine.

But they just didn't show anything for the future. Just stuff we already saw yesterday and last year. The whole point of E3 is to show off NEW GAMES to generate hype.

Having three conferences was a mistake.

I'm less worried about FE and more just confused about Animal Crossing and Layton. They'll come but the timing is just odd. Actually, NoA's 3DS release schedule has been odd from the get-go. They have a weird strategy in place.

AC isn't dated for Japan so it could easily be a case that it's not a holiday title and so they're not showing it.

But Layton is unusual, because it's a year old now, and because even accounting for NoA's not wanting to cause Layton burnout and pacing the releases at one per year, September-October would be the time to release Layton. And it's quite a popular series and skews definitely towards a mass market type of audience, so you'd figure it'd be a good candidate to mention.

the 3ds has no third party games besides KH and Castlevania, that was the most disappointing thing from the conference.

The only thing that was really hilarious to me was Nintendo's horn blowing that they had big third party support coming up. They made it sound like they had a ton of unannounced stuff. Castlevania and Mickey look great, but we already knew about them. That was it.

A-grade troll.
