ITT: We post screens that showcase the visual charisma lost by modern Simpsons

My problem with that episode is this. How were the Simpson kids never baptized? They complain about going to church regularly, at least in some episodes.

It didn't make sense in that episode. In others they make a huge deal when Homer doesn't want to go church, in others Bart and Lisa aren't baptized.

The Simpsons don't follow a continuity religiously.

You don't even need to follow that. For the most part the simpsons (the family not the show itself) aren't very religious outside of maybe Marge. Look at "Homer the Heretic". You can tell that they go to church more out of habit than practice. It stands to reason that the kids then wouldn't be baptized.

"Call me back and tell me EXACTLY the opposite of what you just said."

Reminds me of

Mr. Burns: All right, let's make this sporting, Leonard. If you can tell me why I shouldn't fire you without using the letter "e," you can keep your job.
Lenny: Uh, okay. I'm a good... work... guy...
Mr. Burns: You're fired.
Lenny: But I didn't say it.
Mr. Burns: You will.
[He pulls a lever, dropping Lenny down a trapdoor]
Lenny: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Regardless on your opinion on Nostalgia Critic, whenever he does those opinion pieces (e.g. his top 11 stuff) he does them so well that even people who hate him tend to like those. With that said, it's his Top 11 Best Simpsons Episodes.

The only outlier in his review imo is Homer and the Bat (which is rather ignorable, imo). People also think he should've added You Online Move Twice, but meh, that episode is one of the overrated episodes I've seen.

He seemed to focus on only the first few seasons. Other than "Homer's Enemy" were there any episodes in that list from season 6 or higher?

Still a good list, even if none of my top 3 made the list.

Here's the list for those who care:

11. Deep Space Homer
10. Itchy & Scratchy & Marge
9. Homer's Enemy
8. Cape Feare
7. Homer at the Bat
6. 22 Short Films About Springfield
5. Marge vs. The Monorail
4. Homer the Great
3. Lisa's Wedding
2. The Halloween Episodes
1. Bart Gets an F

About 5 of those episode would be taken into consideration for my possible top 10 list. But that pile of considered episodes could be up to 40 or so episodes. So I don't think my list would end up looking similar to his.

Has anyone made a gif of the 'Independent Thought Alarm' being pressed?

Because that would be a handy gif to have.

(Lisa the vegetaration on C4+1 in the UK now)

He also had honourable mentions during the credits for Lisa On Ice, Rosebud, Mother Simpson, Blood Feud and Who Shot Mr. Burns?.

I love the cable coming out of the Independent Thought button, because that means someone had to make the argument that without it the authorities wouldn't be alarmed and it makes no sense.

And also the great quote related to it

I'm a white male, age 18 to 49. Everyone listens to me -- no matter how dumb my suggestions

This episode wasn't bad actually, had a nice "UP-esque" ending.

Don't ban me.
It had a few good moments but doesn't really make it good episode imo. There has been few episodes lately with some really good moments but rest of the episode is filled with mediocrity, they really need to tighten the scripts.

My favorite part is, that despite Homer being the "homophobic" person in the storyline, this exchange happens...

Moe: You ever been hunting before, there, Barty?
Bart: Nope. Something about a bunch of guys alone together in the woods... seems kinda gay.
[awkward silence]
Homer: That is a very immature attitude, young man.

Now that is clever writing!

So, how do you feel boy?

I dunno I kinda want a cigarette...

John: ...and Helen Lovejoy, sure, she looks blonde, but I've heard
cuffs and collar don't match, if you get my drift.
Marge: I don't, but I loved hearing it!

Moe: Come on, don't take this so hard, Homer. You still got that other kid, uh... Lisa. Let's, uh, take her out hunting tomorrow; make her into a man.
Homer: Aw, she'd never go. She's a vegetarian.
Moe: Oh, geez! Homer, geez! You and Marge ain't cousins, are you?

Homer's Phobia would definitely be on my shortlist for the "top 10 best episodes".

John: But this is the Rex Mars Atomic Discombobulator. Don't you just
love the graphics on this box?
Homer: No. How can you love a box, or a toy or graphics? You're a grown
man.
John: It's camp!
[Homer stares nonplussed]
The tragically ludicrous? The ludicrously tragic?
Homer: Oh, yeah. Like when a clown dies.
John: Well, sort of. But I mean more like inflatable furniture or
"Last Supper" TV trays, or even this bowling shirt.
[John is wearing Homer's "Pin Pals" t-shirt]

Reporter: "Welcome to Fox News, your voice for evil. Tonight we'll be interviewing the top two candidates for Springfield's 24th congressional district. For the Republicans, beloved children's entertainer, Krusty the Clown. And for the Democrats, this guy."
Armstrong: "I have a name."
Reporter: "Yes, I'm sure you do comrade. I do appreciate you're being here, you're usually so mired in sleaze, it must be an effort to come down to the studio."
Krusty: "May I say something?"
Reporter: "Certainly, Congressman."
Armstrong: "He hasn't won yet."
Reporter: "You make a very adulterous point. We will now conclude this debate with a Krusty campaign commercial."

Yes, I know, Season 14. I still like this episode. For some reason, it sticks in my memories alongside all the older episodes.
