I need to get more flat tile pieces to assemble the sidewalk area. Sadly, I dont have anything with enough grey tiles to pull it off.

Anyone know of a good cheap set with a lot of grey tile pieces, preferably 2x2 and 1x6 pieces? I could do bricklink or pick a brick online, but just curious as to any good retail sets.

According to rebrickable.com....

No. :(

For stats:

2x2 Light Bluish Gray
158 in 10181 Eiffel Tower
64 in 10179 Millennium Falcon
32 in 7783 Batcave

1x6 Light Bluish Gray
61 in 10224 Town Hall
60 in 10152 Maersk Ship (all 4 Maersk models)
49 in 10221 Super Star Destroyer

If anyone knows of anywhere to get them, I work for Sega Australia who just wrapped up the Olympics 2012 game (I can't take any credit for it though as I started there just after Beta). There's about 4-5 people there that are interested in getting a set each, so if anyone in the UK can get a box or sets cheap I know some buyers.

I can't predict what the prices will be for a set, on one hand it should be cheaper as there's on only 9 per set rather than 16, but on the other they're limited to the UK only so I imagine there will be a lot of people looking to import from the rest of the world.

I think the problem is the kind of people who sell sets on eBay will know full well they are UK exclusive so price them accordingly.

Ideally, what we could do is all chip in, buy a box between us and then I send out sets to people. Assuming the boxes aren't too pricey.

Death Star has ton's of grey. The price can be mitigated by flipping the minigif lot.

Look at my edited post to see quantities. He's sort of fucked for any large number of tiles. Best option is EASILY a bulk BL order. The way wanted lists work should make it easy to find an affordable bulk lot.

Depending on where you are & how fast LEGO stores stock the 'Wall' you can use this resource to find the bricks you need. Just be kind & help the site to update it.

As promised here's some pics of the custom gear, first up is Bane, I need some opinions here which is better, custom piece tactical vest piece or the decal tactical vest?

bane2.jpg

I saw all this gear and had to get it all to make a SWAT guy, I wanted more to do a Batman vs SWAT thing but I figured I'd just get a couple first to see how it goes.

The gas mask is seperate from the helmet, and the ventilator can be removed from the mask itself. The night vision goggles are removable and can swing down to cover the eyes.

I opened my cosmic cube escape set tonight and Deadpool was given some Uzi's for his baby shower.

deadpool.jpg

Black widow got some pistols as well.

blackwidow.jpg

I'm not that familiar with deadpool or black widow, are these weapons accurate enough for each of the characters? the silencers on both are removable easily.

I also got a different compound bow for hawkeye, which is better/more accurate?

hawkeye.jpg

Love the SWAT guy... with the rumors that LEGO will be producing sets based on the upcoming Superman movie, I wonder why they did not get the license for the Batman movie?

Black Widow looks MUCH better with guns!

I vastly prefer your version of Hawkeye's bow - not only does it look more accurate, but it is far more poseable without the "string" section in the way.

In CT, so no Lego stores. Hoping to find one while on vacation next week though. If not, bulk order online it is. Been meaning to stock up on all types of tile pieces and lots of 1x6 and 1x8 beams as well.

Be warned that PAB from S@H can sometimes take a while. My last order took a month to be filled and shipped.

I doubt it, we probably would have heard about it by now seeing as though the movie release is just over a month away, the Avengers sets were leaked and known about months before the movie came out, I think they were even out and in stores the month before the movie was out.

I wasn't sure whether to give black widow the uzi's or the pistols, I figured I'd go with movies as looking at pictures online the comic book character seems to have all sorts of weapons from rifles to pistols.

So UK S@H finally has the monsters sets.

This should be the finally day of their bonus points promotion so you want them I guess today would be the best day to nab them.

Not sure about currently available sets, I got most of mine from the town house and the family house.

he'd want dark grey for the 2x2 though if he's following the modular colour scheme for the sidewalk.
- 28 in the deathstar playset
- 18 in the old Jabba's sail barge

then each of the modulars has a few

or just buy them from bricklink at 10c a piece.

My first....

Mainly because everyone says it's a fun build and I think I can use the parts for a few MOCs. I was also able to get my bonus VIP points by getting a Space Marine at the same time to push it over the £100.

I am not going to buy more modulars.
I am not going to buy more modulars.
I am not going to buy more modulars......

Now a guess the set game.

Damn, damn, damn, damn. I know I should've never bought the Imperial Shuttle. My pokemon nature makes me want to catch all (somewhat important) original trilogy minifigs. I just bought the 2011 advent calendar becasue of the exclusive x-wing pilot and Chewie (whom I didn't own yet).

(again) I blame you for this. You and your posts and pictures. 'just buy a big set, it's great'. That big set made me buy 5 more.

(And on top of that the Netherlands are out of the EC this year, so I'll drown my sorrows in Lego)

My first....

Not gonna work! You will buy more modulars. This thread, is evil.

I'm regretting that I missed out on the $199 Imperial Shuttle last weekend. One way or another this thread makes me feel bad. I should just look at the pictures and not read.

It's a good thing the modulars are crazy expensive over here, I'm not even tempted :)

Meh, it's covered up by TC-14 figures that I don't care about and I have one anyway. I don't like the blue on that micro TIE.
Yeah, I didn't feel like taking a new picture, and couldn't find the pictures of the end result. But if it makes you feel any better about missing out on the $199 deal, I paid €206 (about $260), and that was a great deal here in the Netherlands.

Oh don't worry, I've seen plenty of pics of it in this thread to make me feel bad already...The only reason I don't regret it so much is I have no place to display it so it would have gone back in the box after assembly anyway.

Picked up a cheap set used today for $15CDN - I'd say "guess the set!" but that would be silly without omitting one of the most ridiculous Lego pieces that completely gives it away.

LV2an.jpg

I still think I prefer the look of the new mining dump truck (in terms of proportions and the actual lego bricks used in the bed) but this one cost less than a third of the price. Bizarrely, it seems to be selling quite high on Bricklink so who knows.

TiLHm.jpg

Took all of ten minutes to put together, and after building the fire brigade last night, I felt nothing. It was routine. Thing's goddamn enormous beside it, though. It was missing two black technic connectors and another was broken...but even with my limited sets here at the moment I had enough spares to keep the chassis rigid. It's also missing the steering wheel in the cabin, but who cares about that.

Also the city worker that comes with it has the most disgruntled look on his face.

Good god, I had no idea that set was so huge. Very off-putting. Lego isn't Tonka. But I can see the allure for little kids who don't know any better.

Yeah I bought it mostly for my daughter to play with, as the bed is large enough to fill with all sorts of stuff and the set is reasonably sturdy.

In terms of overall scale compared to minifigs it's probably not that oversized, but it looks a fair bit longer than most actual dump trucks like it and that skews things. Plus, I don't much care for huge single use Lego pieces.

What set # is that?

I like it, and as a kid I would have loved it. I always tried to create huge trucks, but I just lacked some of the right pieces...

Bought all the series 5 and 6 figures from a BN in another town today. First batch of series 5 I ever got, and no damn lizard guy. Still, 19 figures, 10 brand new ones for me. Not too bad.

Now I have duplicates of a few in series 5 and quite a few in 6 if anyone is up for trading.

What do you need? I still need the Roman guy from 6 to complete the set, and a few more for 5 and 7.

I love both of my Lizard Guys, but would be happy to trade. :D

I'd trade a leprechaun for a skater chick, although that may not be the fairest trade as it's, well, a leprechaun (still can't believe the only two packs I bought were duplicates of the one minifig I was hoping to not get).

Already have a few leprechauns and red riding hoods.

I found a Optimus Prime Kreo on clearance and decided to buy it. The building experience pales in comparison to Lego. Many parts had similar color schemes that made it hard to figure which was needed in each step. Silver and grey colors were too close together as well dark blue and black colors. The truck was a nice build, but the trailer is really flimsy and falls apart easily. This will probably be the last time I get a Kreo set.

Just feel for the hat. That is how I avoided them ever since. The pot of gold feels too much like a head, but the hat is unique.

Oh I haven't seen any in stores in my area, the two I ordered were a crap-shoot from Lego directly when I ordered my fire brigade. Never again.

It felt so weird cutting into random bags when I had spent so much time picking out exactly what I wanted with my series 7 ones.

To avoid the Merman, feel for the tail. It is very uniquely shaped and huge.

With the Viking Girl and Bride, feel for the sloped brick that forms the dress. To determine if it is the viking girl, feel for the hair. It will feel normal, but the pigtails are easy to feel.

That is both awesome and disappointing. Awesome because the transformation is close to the original toy, but disappointing because the model itself looks kind of lame.
Ya, I thought it was a different one. I think there's a better one, will look for it.

His Grimlock is kinda the same, looks like it transforms similar to the original toy but the model itself is pretty flat.

The Transforming Lego sets combine my two favorite toys as an 80s child. That is why I am wondering who has some amazing MOCs that look good but also transform.

But, update on my Cafe MOC. I have finished the first pass, and honestly I am going to take a break until after my vacation next week.

Completed building. Might refine the roof some. Still going to redo the first floor interior and eliminate the stage and make it a fountain drink area, and then close off the second floor to add more interior detail.

Backside of the building.

Underside of the roof area. The trick was not making it solid, but open enough to allow light to pass through the windows in all areas to illuminate the interior. I might add hanging lights on the inside eventually.

My baby integrated into the other in print modular buildings.

This is my first major MOC (outside of the Mega Man pixel art recreations I did about six months ago and posted in here) since I was a child. The first thing I have done with actual knowledge and planning of building techniques. I wanted the roof to all come together and meet with angles and be clean, but I ran out of corner pieces. Funny enough, I did not know that the roof lined up so well with Grand Emporium until I was finished and dragged the other buildings off the shelf. A happy coincidence.

Is there some refinement to be done? Of course. I will never be completely satisfied with it. Am I proud of it? Hell yeah! The interior refinement can be done later. Now I just need to get the pieces to finish off the sidewalk and make it presentable. Either way, I am proud of what I accomplished on this thing. It is about 95% Tower Bridge and 2 Apple Tree House parts. Occasionally dipping into my old 80s Space sets for random beams and whatnot.

The back side looks like the alley I used to get drunk in after school. Just needs a wooden fence and then a walk-up apartment on the other side.

I can't find the Soundwave I was thinking of but seems like a popular one to make.

That is because Soundwave is awesome. Tied with Starscream for coolest Transformer.

Ravage was the first Transformers I ever saw, cuz he was small and one of my classmates would carry it around. Cassettes transforming into animals blew my 6 year old mind. So ya by necessity Soundwave was my favorite. The batteries/guns was genius.

Okay, so here are the mini figs I have extras of and willing to trade:
Series 5- cave girl, lumberjack, palace guard, cleopatra, clown

Series 6- mechanic x2, skater girl x2, Samus Clone

Series 7- Red Riding Hood x2, Merman, Computer nerd x3

Duplicates I like having, but will trade for good stuff in series 5 and earlier: New Space Marine, Bunny Suit, Black Knight

Will trade for some stuff, but very hesitant: 80s space system figures.
