I hope that when they release the trilogy box-set, they won't keep switching resolutions like TDK does. Annoys the fuck out of me, and getting rid of this will definitely convince me to buy the set.

edit:
Could just as easily be him fucking around and doing reverse psychology.

Here's hoping.

I'm saving re-watching Batman Begins and The Dark Knight until a day before TDKR.

In the meantime, I'm getting into the Batman graphic novels/comics for the first time. Any recommendations? So far I've picked up Year One, Dark Victory, The Long Halloween and The Dark Knight Returns.

I'm normally against quoting IGN, but they made a decent list of must read Batman novels a while back. You can find the link here.

I rewatched Begins tonight, and all it did was reaffirm my stance: Begins is the best Batman movie. Just so fucking awesome. Dark Knight is awesome as well, but Begins is just stronger and more engaging.

Let's break it down:
Best suit: Begins
Best score: Begins
Best Bale performance: Begins
Best Alfred: Begins
Nicest Coat: Begins

I will give Dark Knight the best villain nod though. That is easy. And I love Dark Knight for the balls it has to kill off so many characters. I truly felt that anything goes during Dark Knight.

Now combine bb and tdk and you get tdkr . At least story wise

Begins is on TV all the time... I've re-watched it quite a bit these past weeks. My love for it grew back, and now I don't know which one is the best one.

Begins is better, I'd say. But I like watching TDK the most, pratically because of The Joker. His scenes will never get old.

Must wait for TDKR to open. I am very excited for it, but also extremely skeptical. It just feels like they are trying to cram too much in, but the first two delivered so well I want to have faith that Nolan sticks the landing.

Begins is better, until Ra's returns. TDK wins for me overall, especially the finish with Batman/Dent/Gordon. That scene + the ending sequence are worth every second of ferries. Eckhart is underrated as fuck.

Knightfall and No Man's Land.

Those aren't great Batman stories like the ones he listed, but yeah, they might be required reading for TDKR.

Ape Gone Insane, you got what I would consider the top-tiers, so here's some stuff you might want to read just to stay up to date on what's been going on in the Bat-verse:

- Batman: R.I.P.
- Final Crisis
- Battle for the Cowl
- The Return of Bruce Wayne
- Batman and Robin (2009-2011)
- Batman Incorporated

Joker totally goofed when he spilled that drink. Can't believe Nolan used that shot.

Like Kubrick kept the shot of the air hostess slipping on the walkway whereas they were portraying no gravity so she should have floated insteading of going sideways hile slipping

The Dark Knight is way better. I was floored the first time I saw that GAF swung the other way.

Batman Begins has third act problems, its themes make less of an impact, its a more conventional story (albeit told unconventionally), and it's got weaker writing (by far). If it wasn't for Begins' opening act, it wouldn't be nearly so highly regarded. I sort of want to say it's a stronger character study, but then I remember the complexities of the Harvey Dent/Bruce Wayne duality in TDK, along with Gordon's wonderful arc..and I'm pretty sure the sequel takes the cake in that area as well. Also, Joker. What's wrong with the ferries again? That's a great scene..it's a far better climax then Batman vs. Ras on a monorail.

I feel like I'm splitting hairs here considering that Batman Begins is one of my favourite films, but the sequel topped it, plain and simple.

Looks like hans zimmer collaborated with Perry Montague-Mason famous for Iron man , Bourne ultimtum, Love actually and how to train a dragon

Cj singh who is an indian artist

And Thomas Jesty who wasinvolved in the batman begins score

Batman Begins has third act problems

So does TDK.

its themes make less of an impact

I say BS. TDK's major theme of "not the hero we deserve, but the one we need right now" only came in, sort of out of the nowhere, at the end. And it's a great theme. But BB's theme of well, beginning, renewal, making hope for the future, those are all intertwined with the story and push it forward.

its a more conventional story (albeit told unconventionally)

That's not a bad thing for BB nor a good thing for TDK. It's a neutral thing.

and it's got weaker writing (by far).

I wouldn't say by far.

If it wasn't for Begins' opening act, it wouldn't be nearly so highly regarded.

And if it wasn't for the Joker, TDK etc. etc. Worthless comment.

I sort of want to say it's a stronger character study, but then I remember the complexities of the Harvey Dent/Bruce Wayne duality in TDK, along with Gordon's wonderful arc..

Those aren't really character studies in the same way BB was. Those were character arcs, but not studies.

and I'm pretty sure the sequel takes the cake in that area as well. Also, Joker.

Joker isn't a be all end all. I don't think he's the ultimate Joker, either. TAS claims that throne. Is he better than Nicholson? Yes, definitely. Does he elevate the film to another strata of Batman film all on his own? No.

What's wrong with the ferries again? That's a great scene..it's a far better climax then Batman vs. Ras on a monorail.

I say they're even. With Ra's, Bruce had to finally overcome his master and confront the ideologies he had created for himself. The ferries were overlong and just served as a contrived action setpiece for the fall of the Joker.

I feel like I'm splitting hairs here considering that Batman Begins is one of my favourite films, but the sequel topped it, plain and simple.

I'm guessing, since the above is just my opinion and I've never really been involved in any BB/TDK debate on GAF, but the reason BB is better regarded on GAF could be because it's a better Batman movie. It focuses on Bruce as a character and follows him and builds him up in a way TDK didn't, because it was distracted with showing off how kookoo for cocoa puffs Joker was. It was also basically a crime drama.

It is for this reason I'm really looking forward to TDKR, which seems to put the focus squarely back on Bruce and Batman.

I'm gonna assume
Rise is the ending credits theme.
I'm gonna be prepared to cry manly tears.

Also, I'm assuming that
Gotham's Reckoning
is the music that was during the MTV Movie Awards footage.
