no price is a bummer for me. Looks like google is getting my money.
I think it's a very bold and clever move, one product that allows them to fight a war on two fronts.Yeah, I didnt get a clear message on who they're exactly targeting with this thing. Idea is probably to compete with both and assume that this device can serve you as both your tablet and your (only?) home PC. It's pretty ambitious.

For the RT version? Not that different. The Nexus will be a Tegra 3.
...what's wrong with 16:9 tablets again?
honestly though the main reason im so hyped is because of how fucking cool the keyboard cover is. i dont really give a shit about having all that power since i have a desktop for all that.
the keyboard cover is just an incredible idea and i was surprised no one had thought of it yet.

They probably should have showed someone connecting a 360 controller to that thing just to drive home what a USB port does for gaming.
Are the writers there getting a hand-on look t this puppy? That's what those time cards were for, right?
Someone had to ask about the battery life...
I've been waiting for a tablet to come along and merge the traditional tablet with a laptop. Particularly as far as OS and legacy programs go.
I missed most of this announcement and quick reading through the OP and the last few pages has left me with questions. Will the Win 8 version work with Steam?
Or am I still pipe-dreaming?
Did you just plagiarize Jeff Gerstmann's tweet? WORD FOR WORD.They probably should have showed someone connecting a 360 controller to it to drive home what a USB port does for gaming, could be awesome!
It's fully windows. Yes.

The iPad isn't 16:9 so it's wrong

Hahaha Micro....
Wait. I like this. Assuming decent price and battery life I am in for sure.
Does Windows 8 allow you to play older windows games on it by the way?
1366x768 is the min spec for Windows 8 to have app docking so I bet it's that.
Surface Pro says "Full HD" so I'm guessing 1080p.
Only the pro is.

...but what does it do that an iPad doesn't?
Steve Baller.
B due to no mention of a key table feature the got damn battery. I won't believe it has decent battery life. Especially the pro version.
Nope, totally got it. But it needed a flagship hardware component to realize the promise of the idea and now it (theoretically) has it.So before 4:10pm today, you didn't understand Windows 8?
Concerned about no battery talk
Otherwise
Day 1. Will pay up to 1200
If you have an Intel or AMD system like the Pro then yes. Nope for ARM like the basic one.
