[Nintendo Direct 6/21] Super Smash Bros 4 a collaboration w/ Sora & Namco Bandi Games

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I hope it turns out good. I don't think it can turn out bad with Sakurai involved.

Stop bragging about your poor taste.

shallow fighters are for shallow gamers, I play enjoy good 3D fighters like Virtua Fighter thx.

Smash Bros. is for my one nostalgic indulgence, Earthbound/Mother levels, characters and song remixes. Confirmed on back of the box: "Plus, really, we all know the reason to get this is to let Mother 1, 2 and 3 have their little moment in the sun, in a world that has rejected them mercilessly."

I've made this argument myself in Smash threads in the past.

...but why else would they bring in Namco? By no means do I expect Nintendo to make it some completely hardcore game, because accessibility is a cornerstone of Smash. It may just be help to create an online infrastructure for instance, because Nintendo can't get that right themselves. Maybe they want the raw manpower or one of the two teams to be allocated to each platform? Sora for 3DS and Namco for Wii U makes sense.

I doubt Miyamoto would loosen his grip on what he thinks Smash should be..the project is probably just being held up by Sora and Namco while he does his thing.

i don't know I'm sure there's an item that can be dropped for crappy gamers as they fiddle through their comically tiny move list to help you win the thread spar for taste.

kiddie pool depth: it's the new olympic standard ;)

Of course, Smash Bros. fans have way more on their mind than my meddling opinions. I mean, Namco. Good luck bros.

Yeah I think fears of it not being Smash anymore are silly. It'll definitely be Smash, they're not gonna make it into Tekken or SCV or even DLC whore it out. It's ultimately still a Nintendo game at the end of the day.

Interesting. I'm assuming that this is going to be similar to Nintendo and Game Arts' collaboration on Brawl. The difference being that Namco Bandai is much higher profile.

So looks like Nintendo wants that Wii U Smash out late 2013/early 2014. If Project Sora works on it alone we wouldn't see it for another 3 years possibly.

Namco is probably here for there next gen experience.

Their games look pretty damn good.

Plus their fighters are quality.

Not sure why dudes are mad over this.

It's not like it's by Namco only. Sakurai and his dudes are here too

Interesting collaboration. I assume this is due in part to the overall staff needs of the project, considering how Brawl was developed.

A lot of people here probably don't realise this is what happened with Brawl and Kid Icarus, just with smaller companies.

They're repeating the Smash info on the NoA stream right now. Nothing new, but supposodly a message from Sakurai is up on Nintendo.com now. Anyone got a link?
