[Nintendo Direct] 3DS XL (90% larger screen, 4GB SD, better battery) OP has details

I own two compatible AC adapters already. I don't need a third one, so I'm happy I'm not forced to buy one.
That's not the point, your not buying one it should come included with the system, I can't believe your defending them for not including an ac adapter.

Why is having better looking games not a point again?

And no, I never expected Nintendo to up the resolution anyways. This is exactly what I expected Nintendo to do.
Because it doesn't look better. It looks the same. If you don't even notice, you don't need a higher resolution screen to begin with.

All right, after my initial excitement, I doubt I'm going to get this. The battery sounds like it's barely better, no second stick, no AC adapter, and it's pretty ugly. I'll probably just get a normal 3DS.

Because if it did include the adapter I'm sure Nintendo would charge $204.99 MSRP for the system, right? They are simply being cheap rip off new adopters. It's pathetic. People claim companies are anti-consumer for shit like DLC or online passes when this is a lot closer to being that and you want to give them a pass.

Lol, we basically posted the same thing at the same time.

The funny thing is they still include the 4GB SD card. WTF - wouldn't that be the thing to drop, not something required to run the system?

A new low in cost cutting, even for Nintendo.

I will be getting this the day it comes out. That black/silver one is awesome. Granted, it's kind of a bummer that they didn't include the second stick, but I can live with that. Those upcoming RPGs in Japan are looking too sexy to miss out on. I held out getting a 3DS because I KNEW they'd have a larger screen version. I'm glad I waited.

Gyro controlls are a lot better to me. Faster and easier to control. I used the CPP once and never touched it again.

Quite. Gyro is just excellent, I honestly find it hard to play without it now lol

Nintendo will have a second analogue for the 3DS2, I don't know why its suddenly such a big issue, its not just an external thing, it'd take up space inside the units.

Nintendo also do not want original 3DS owners to be getting games that are optimised for a second analogue as it reduces the quality of the experience and thus their product satisfaction/brand loyalty.

Gyro works very well for certain games and personally I've no problem using the touch for aiming, the larger size on that should help people grip the system too.

Move on. This 'second analogue' thing is just a fucking meme in peoples own heads at the moment. There is so far one game it would really work with.

All those that wanted and are holding out for a second analog crack me up. It's no longer the 3DS anymore if they do that. They changed the hardware then. Consoles like this are made for a certain set and games and games are programmed to be very specific for that platform. By making a second analog stick, not having the game work on the previous model leaves out the majority of users.

Optional configurations. Have you never used anything that wasn't in a 100% closed environment, before?

Is this even confirmed for the US? I wish this was a bad dream and that the real revision has a second stick (I really want to replay RE and Kid Icarus on this).

You do realize that this is Nintendo we're dealing with here, right?

Remember the broadband adapter? The e-Reader? The Mario Dance Mat?

Nintendo fractured their market once with Wii MotionPlus. They won't do it again.

But they already did it. The Circle Pad Pro is a real product. Several of 3DS's most popular games support it.

Guys, it's the same base system. A resolution upgrade is crazytalk and I'm not sure why any of you thought it would be on the table.

Yeah, you're right. But Nintendo made the fucking adapter. Now that decision seems even more insane.

Which is exclusive to Gamestop in NA. So if the revision had a second analog stick included and developers started using it, people with the original 3DS would be forced to buy it from Gamestop. Which I know would piss off every retailers not named Gamestop. Also consumers can't get it for cheaper from anywhere else cause well it's exclusive to Gamestop.

If Nintendo didn't make the CPP retailer exclusive then I think the no second analog stick bitching would be fine but not so much now given the circumstances.

I think the no AC adapter bitching is fine though. I have a DSi and a DS Phat will any of my chargers work on it?

cool thing is that I can probably upgrage for a profit

not with those ugly as sin colors though

i got and sold an ambassador system at a profit, why not?
and yeah man i need to know the colors, wait up

Someone should put the EU details in the OP:

Red, Blue and Silver
July 28th
No price (retailers set price etc etc)
No power adapter, available on its own
No cradle, available on its own

okay so is there a pic? are we talking the same red and blue as launch 3DS units or a sexy midnight blue like my DS?

odd they left off the 2nd stick, i really only wanted it for KIU and RE;R which'll both be done by the time this drops though i guess...

I got a Zelda gold and black 3DS. No regrets. This thing wouldn't fit in my pockets.
This right here. I'm confident that most of us will be rational enough to see this for what it is, an option.

I'd expect people to want their portable device to be at a reasonable size. I like big, but it doesn't always mean better.

That's not the point, your not buying one it should come included with the system, I can't believe your defending them for not including an ac adapter.
Are people really not getting that they pay for everything in the box? "Included" doesn't mean "free", even if it says so on the box in some cases.

Is this even confirmed for the US? I wish this was a bad dream and that the real revision has a second stick (I really want to replay RE and Kid Icarus on this).

Kids CPP support is limited to only switching to 'left hand'. No dual analogue use (unless you are left handed ofc).

Seems like there's more disappointment tha excitement to be had here. Too bad - always said I'd buy one after the revision, too.

Yeah, you're right. But Nintendo made the fucking adapter. Now that decision seems even more insane.

They made it at the Capcom's behest. They detailed this when it was first announced.

The CPP came about almost entirely because of MoHun. The CPP isn't something that Nintendo was ever going to push.

Ugly as fuck

No second analog stick!! Seriously wtf nintendo

Same shitty resolution.

Still better than the original 3DS since not as much real estate is wasted and it atleast has a half way decent battery life.

But it really could have and should have been FAR better.

Cool pic.

This also confirms that Miyamoto is a liar.

People are actually defending the lack of an AC adapter in here? Lol.

Little Timmy better enjoy that battery while it lasts on Christmas morning.

it's confirmed. NO AC adapter included. Use an old one or buy it.

It's like they are in a race with Sony to decide who can make the shittiest decision regarding hardware:

Nintendo: I'm pricing my handheld at $250
Sony: yea, well i'm pricing mine at $250 AND not including any memory card
Nintendo: Well if that's the case we're taking out the fucking ac adapter! your move!

i wonder how Sony will respond...
