So Valencia was actually entertaining and GAF was down throughout it :/

- No 8th different winner (
- Is a Lotus win due soon?
- Fucking Maldonado

Amazing race, so much drama. Really happy to have Schumi on the podium at last, he deserves at least that this year. Felt naked without Gaf co commentating.

Fuck Maldonado. The guy is a fucking liability. He was doing exactly what Hamilton did throughout the race then he has the nerve to blame him for the crash. God damn amateur needs to get a hefty penalty for the next race. He desperately needs to get some etiquette/race craft from somewhere because at the moment he brings shame to the Williams name.

All those "Ferrari is doomed" predictions yesterday in this thread were clearly on point.

Alonso drove a really amazing race, but do we really need to point out that his P1 finish was due to luck?

Not that he's not

But if it wasn't for Roman's and Vettel's DNF, he wouldn't be on P1.

I cheered when Vettel pulled over, and I cheered when Grojean pulled over and I said a massive "Fuck You" when On Prupose kicked Hamilton in the balls.

An entertaining race though, never thought I'd say that.

Oh and incredible pit stops from Mclaren. 2.9, 3.1 and a 14.

Best race of the year so far, almost GP2 like in places.
So much drama from Vettel, Grosjean and then Hamilton who got fucked in the pits YET AGAIN and then on the track by Maldonado

  • Feel bad for vettel and grosjean
  • Lots of respect for alonso, schumacher and webber
  • Take away maldonado's super license

My opinions in a nutshell.

Lots of stupid moves in this race in desperate bid to overtake.

Both Caterhams got tagged, Koby had a brain fart of a race and ruined 2 peoples races. Can't believe Senna got that penalty.

Shame GAF was down during the race, would have loved to see the reaction to pasta crashing Hamilton off the road.

But amazing race, Alonso, kimi & schumi podium!

Glorious stuff - I take back every bad thing I said about Valencia

Those Maclaren / Hamilton pitstops, god. Could they continue to be any more shit?

At halfway i was about to put this one down to another shitty run away Redbull victory, but then everything went tits up for the leading pack.

Hamilton pit fail.
Redbull reliability fail.
Lotus reliability fail.
Maldonado just complete fail.

If there is one thing to say though, that damned Redbull looks like the dominant car again, at least it certainly was today.

I have no idea how it can be legal though, not allowed to cover the rear driveshafts, yet it claearly has carbon fibre diffusers over it. Another Redbull 'we'll take the rules, ignore them, say we took our own interpretion of the rules and grab the extra speed till we get told to change it with no retrospective action against us.'

Schummy is being investigated after Red Bull complained about him opening his DRS in a yellow flag zone. Poor guy.

As long as he didn't use it to gain an advantage he'll be OK, they said on the BBC forum having DRS open isn't the issue it's if he didn't slow down.

If I recall the rules say that you can't have an enclosed fairing around the shafts. They don't. I seem to remember reading that they have managed to shape the other arms to enclose the shaft enough to offer as much as possible. There is still a gap and it's not enclosed as per the rules.

The question will be how long it takes anyone else to join in.

Alo, Kimi and Schumi. That's very much a podium I'm happy to see. Incredibly unlucky for Grosjean, who was doing an incredible job, and Vettel who would've won by a mile. I think it was also obvious to see Maldonado was going to cause something horrible to happen. Fucking idiot needs to be stripped of his license before he gets someone killed.

That's not a Red Bull thing, that's every team in the sport. That's how this works.

Maldonado 20 second penalty, moves him down to 12th. Senna up to 10th.

Kobayashi has a 5 grid place penalty for Silverstone. Vergne has a 10 grid penalty and a £25k fine.

Still no news on MSC yet. Gary Anderson on the BBC made it clear that the regulations do not specifically ban the use of DRS during waved yellows. You just have to show you were slower than in previous laps.

Hai guyz, Schumi is cheating, can you strip him of his spot and put Vettel in Webbers place. Thankz

great finish of the race. If Msc gets punished, i don´t think it will hamper his joy about this podium experience. that´s something they can not take one away afterwards. And hopefully they won´t.

mad respect @ Alonso. Deserved win if not for the mechanical failure of Vettel.

and yeah, i also think Hamilton should be intelligent enough to know when his car is out of juice.

Maldonado is an idiot. Could have easily passed in a later corner if he hadn't t-boned Hamilton.

At least he got a penalty, there's a reason Maldonado spent six years in GP2.

Well GAF has been down for me, but I just wanted to say my favorite part was the Schumi/Webber train of passing at the end.

One of the best races ever and Neogaf melts down a few minutes before the race starts.
Sad to see Sauber's shitty tyre strategy of 2011 making a come back. Kobayashi was on hamilton's arse before the first pit stops and somehow Kobayashi ends up 11th and stuck behind the schumy train with Hamilton comfortably in 3rd? And Perez's tyres melted at the end.

Its a shame GAF wasnt working during the race. The one time Valencia was exciting, none of us could express our emotions online :/

I felt really bad for Grosjean. He could've had a solid second, if not, winning the race. You can tell how frustrated he was when he was exiting the car. Hopefully he'll have more podium finishes this season.

Vettel: had the race won until his DNF. Yeah, he's pissed :lol

When he came up to Horner and horner hugged him, Vettel looked like he was gonna cry :P

Hamilton: I know everyone's jumping on Pasta saying its his fault(which it is for the most part), but Hamilton was also pulling one too many defensive maneuvers both on Kimi and Maldonado when its clear his tires were gone and the other two guys are capable of overtaking him. Now dont get me wrong, Schumi did the same to Hamilton last year at Monza(defensive part) but he should've let the other two guys pass and would've probably ended up with more points despite not making the podium.

I did feel bad for him when he crashed and him bashing the steering wheel and throwing it away. After his win at Montreal, its sad to see his race end the way it did :(

Maldonado: on prupose. nuff said (although Hamilton forced him off track, so really what do you expect from him?)

Kimi: nice to see him on podium again. although he got lucky because of Hamilton. Otherwise he would've been stuck in third.

Schumi: amidst all the craziness during the race, the last thing I expected was for this man to get in the podium. After the crap he's been through since his comeback, let alone this season, its nice to see the old man stand on the podium once again.

Alonso: man of the hour. coming off that poor qualifying result and winning the race from 11th (in front of his home crowd no less), was amazing. Like I said, people always seem to forget that despite Alonso's poor qualifying results this season, the man manages to find his way up front so you can never count him out. Great race from him and he's even leading the WDC points at the moment :)

It was nice to Alonso/Kimi/Schumi on podium given how all three are former/current Ferrari drivers and world champions in their own right :D

Hamilton left a car width going into the turn, which is what's required of the defending driver. I think you could definitely make the argument that he should've known Maldonado would've done something stupid on prupose and just taken the best points, but that's kind of the problem. If you have a driver who you can basically count on driving into other cars you need to get him the hell out. If all Maldonado ends up with is a 20 second penalty that's ridiculous.
