Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut is coming next week [Up: Out now, my sweet]

Synthesis ending is so ridiculous looking. Especially this memorial wall scene that's trying to be all emotional except everyone are glowing green freaks.

I can't believe people say this is better! All the endings have been made worse except for the new one.

Control is now fan fic.

Only way this could have been salvaged was through the Indoctrination Theory.

I respect Bioware for making an attempt to please fans, but that's the most I can give them. That's coupled with a real half-assed attempt to make the endings palatable because they didn't want to 'radically' change them. After seeing a couple of the ending changes, I'm not going to invest several hours to see relatively minor changes and one additional fatalistic (though honest at least) ending added.

Either fix the fucking thing or don't touch it. This slightly modifying bullshit stinks of lowest amount of effort to avoid confrontation.

Bioware for me use to be like Blizzard, an automatic buy. But unbelievably, this game shot my trust in them worse than Dragon Age 2, which I was much kinder on than others here on GAF. They really need to get their shit squared away and fast.

So picked destroy, got the Shepard lives ending... still place my name as dead on the Normandy. Fucking pricks. I don't care about them I care about what happened to me. But whatever, I stopped caring awhile back... to me the game ended with Anderson's and Shepard watching the view.

Eh. I'm not a big fan of the new Destroy ending.
Even now, no one even brings up the fact that the Geth/EDI died in the actual ending. Joker is just shown to be cool with everything and Hackett still completely dodges the issue even when the Star Child made it so obvious.
Synethsis is still completely stupid.

New Control is definitely fan-fic territory, but out of the three color endings, I think it is the best by far.

They've actually made it all worse, and after all the backlash I find it surprising that Bioware made all 3 essentially the same again, except for a couple of slides.

Your love interests holds onto your nameplate way longer in the destroy ending though. I guess to imply that they think you could have survived.

Which is kinda weird that they wouldn't think that in the other endings, they have no knowledge of what happened to you. Unless the reapers tell everyone what Shepard did in the other endings? lol

It's better in that these at least are "endings", but the whole thing is as half-assed as it looked like it would be and still fundamentally flawed.

Meh. The new endings are disappointing, but that's life; you take what you can get.

Specifically the new
refusal ending STILL doesn't let you "beat" the reapers. Fuck I was expecting some Gurren Lagann-esque "we forge our own paths! scenario" I don't care if it's generic and derivative, at this point a good ending would have been welcomed.

oh and the

"We created synthetics to kill you, to stop you from getting killed by other synthetics"
STILL isn't explained.

My biggest issue with the endings is that Shepard still doesn't call out the Starchild on his bullshit on how the synthetics and organics waging war on each other is inevitable even though Shepard managed to bring the Geth and Quarians to ally with each other.

That 2nd spoiler gets even better now!
Seeing as how the Catalyst rebelled against his creators, such a dick

Yup. Catalyst just says nananana, it'll happen, listen to me or everyone dies.

My love interest never contacted me to say goodbye, and when I chose destroy I saw a flashback to Thane and Joker. What the hell? :(

.

And that's even a major theme throughout all 3 games. Apparently that Gurren Lagann-esque course of action is completely irrelevant when all is said and done.

Refusal ending is canon.

Yeah there are still holes and inconsistencies, but at least they feel like endings now...just barely.

I think I can finally just put Mass Effect behind me. Huge missed opportunity with the way the series turned into some wild sci-fi/fantasy mess, but whatever. These are the potholes on the road to games growing up, I guess.

It's time like these that make me happy knowing there's other richer RPGs such as Deus Ex and The Witcher (and many more coming from those studios) to keep me happily satisfied.

At least there's one thing that Mass Effect 3 has done a favour on and that's to be used as an example for other developers to not do!

It's better because it at least it is an ending.

The original ME3 had essentially no ending because it didn't even bother to tell you what happened after your choices. You saw a bunch of color coded explosions and essentially the same crash on planet cut-scene, and nothing is explained.

Now even if you don't like the ending at least you know what happened.

Thats just dreadful stuff.

Problem ME3 has that these don't feel like synthetic endings. People wanted to feel that their actions up to then would either save, destroy, or half save the day. Or...well...something.

Not too surprised. Always though ME3 would be less 'big' (as in actions etc.) just due to its full scale war and the coming of the end. But still, the game is broken for what it is; DLC/patches won't fix that.

The worst thing is - all the endings are the same, no matter what is added/changed they are all the same and the fact its all paid off in the turn of a second and theres zero player interaction with them is the real problem here. If it were to come to a straight choice, Bioware should have had it earlier in the game and then had you play through it and try to survive/make the best of it.

Game is broken as is.
