Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut is coming next week [Up: Out now, my sweet]

Anyone have a link to the new "refusal" ending? Only version I haven't seen.

The other ones are all "better", but still pretty shit. Control/Blue is probably the best of the colored ones now.

Still some pretty bad plotholes, but they plugged a decent amount. LOL at this taking so long for a slideshow (and it's 2GB too!)

Worst (best?) thing about the extended cut is that it pretty much rules out indoctrination theory.

Why would you want to fight on your own terms and fight for freedom for everyone, that'll just get you killed. All you gotta do to win is accept bullshit.

Well, just watched one ending.

It was obvious that they weren't going to change space casper, but atleast there's a decent epilogue about the universe you tried to change throughout the 3 games.

Better than the original.

Is it something that only happens if they're on the ground with you? Or if they're on the ship do they come out when you're ushering your two wounded squadmates away?

They helped me get Javik on the ship, didn't say anything. Javik was too busy begging to come die with me. Poor guy.

Oh god Synthesis ending
Krogan and Turians with green eyes are fucking creepy ahahah oh god
Still the worst ending.

Destroy>fan-fic Control>>>Reject>>>>>>>>Synthesis

My main beef with the endings were some inconsistencies and the lack of show of the results of my actions/choices. They fixed some of that, so it's better than nothing for me. But Synthesis is still dumb.
Bam, magic, now everyone's a half-synthetic.

Is all that true?

JUST CHECK THE DATABASE CONTAINING ALL THE INFORMATION IN THE UNIVERSE THAT IS FUSED WITH YOUR DNA, MY SWEET.

EDIT: Green eyes "space magic'd" Buzz Aldrin photoshop, now.

So I only watched the destroy ending on youtube so far, it was pretty terrible though. Bioware's stunning inability to write a good story anymore is pretty hilarious. They really did go full dudebro.

seen all the endings. personally i was okay with the originals, bioware was lazy by not giving each choice it's own unique cutscenes but the game was rushed so shit happens.

the extended cuts are what we probably would have gotten if the game was delayed and im happy that bioware stuck with the original vision instead of giving into the cry babies demands. i think some of the additional dialog is unneeded since you can put it together by thinking a little but i guess it'll help those who need everything spoon fed to them.

im not 100% sure but it seems like the last thank you message was changed a bit to confirm more mass effect games. im happy there will be more since the universe is one of the best out there but im not sure where they go from here. prequels would be boring but at the same time ME3 is kind of the end game. i guess well see.

I haven't played Mass Effect 3 but I just checked in to see if the EC was a hit and accidently read the control ending.

Hahaahhaah

Thematically, Reject is actually a great ending, go down swinging on your own terms, and at least give the future a chance beat this thing even if you don't do it.

I'll actually go Reject=Destroy>>Control>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Synthesis.

So, will the endings now take into consideration what I have done throughout the trilogy or are they just extended cuts of the vanilla endings?

I guess what I'm asking is: Should I play this for optimal experience or is YT enough?

there never was an original vision!!

read some interviews.dont be a biodrone.

before relays were destroyed, now they are damaged.they changed it as they changed a lot of other stuff during the making of the game!

What was with the Reaper roar when you first get on the Citadel? I assume it was just something to appease the theorists.

Agreed, and from the end credits you can assume the next cycle stopped the Reapers or is ready to stop them for good.

Well....I guess these arent horrible. Definitely better than the original endings thats for sure. I still dont get the need for jungle planet but whatever.

YT is more than enough.

Indoctrination theory turned out pretty well.

There were some people arguing pretty hard for that. They must feel like that was time well spent right now.

Nobody really believed that, it was all sad and pathetic desperation. A knee-jerk reaction from fans who saw Bioware flush a promising series down the toilet in the form of one child.

The endings were and still are a comedy of errors. Despite having retconned plenty from the originals, it still leaves us with plotholes big enough you could fly a Shepard-Reaper through and silly/unbelievable conclusions that come about contrary to your decisions over the course of the series.

I just remembered something that bothered the shit out of me. Harbringer just sits there and stops firing while I loaded Javik on the Normandy... sigh. And at one point I thought he was going to talk when Shepard started running again after the Normandy departs, but nope, back to pew pewing.

Lmao, retcons ahoy in Destroy.

the relays are severely damaged

Also, what was the point of the
Jungle planet then? Like just a pitstop?

I bet those animated flames with the alliance helmet took up a lot of that 1.9 gigs.

...And that's it? F:NV slides with a shitty narration?

Sigh. Fuck you Bioware. I'm done.

If these had been the original endings I might have been able to stomach it, but as a "redone" set, they are barely better.

edit: Ahahaha, they changed the Buy more DLC message.

edit2: New Control is lol-worthy. Literally God in the machine.

on weekend confirmed they talked about this. the writer that worked on the first two games before leaving bioware said they only ever had a vague outline of where the series was going and that large changes and rewrites for different ideas was common. like cerberus was never part of the story but they rewrote stuff to make it work. they were pretty much making it up as they go although they would leave you to believe they had it all thought out.

I'm satisfied. The endings aren't great, but at least a lot of the plot holes are addressed.

Still confused
what the point was of landing on the jungle planet in the first place though.

And am I the only one who kinda likes the Synthesis ending?
The whole "He gave his life so I could live" spiel I thought was very touching.

I think I'd go with the Control ending.
There are still lot's of flaws and plot holes but it's not as ridiculous as Synthesis and doesn't necessitate the destruction of the Geth. Kinda' reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey where Bowmen becomes the "Starchild" - a mixture of human and Alien.
It does mean that Shepard is now an intergalactic UN. But I'm okay with that.
I never felt so bad about the endings that it would put me off buying another Bioware game, that just seems silly. I'll judge a game on it's individual merits. I do see how this whole episode has been a real problem though. But, for me it's over. But I would like to see some actual DLC for the single player game at some point. Will it happen?
