Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut is coming next week [Up: Out now, my sweet]

Well they certainly fixed it. Not sure if I would call it a "great ending" but I'm much happier with this than the old one.

Not going back to quote, but a "perfect" ending would essentially be destroy as is, but with a high enough EMS, you wouldn't lose EDI and the Geth.

Reject still seems to be the most thematically correct though (at least for my Shepard.) They should have had a branch there between reject-fail and reject-success, where you basically talk starkid/reapers into suicide as you could with Saren and TIM.

The troll is YOU, who complains of everything, blinded by hate. If Valve of CD Project's had a similiar ending for their gaming, everyone celebrating them as genius. Note: i am no Bioware fanboy, instead i swear on them on how they ruined ME RPG component.

you are obviously new to the internet. Welcome.

I swear Shepard's monologue at the end of the Control ending sounds like something straight out of TIM's mouth.

except for the whole part where he said he was going to help all species?

I have no idea what this new content adds, so a straight answer would be nice (I have no idea if you're being cheeky or serious)

you don't get blasted by the beam asap, instead your teammates are almost hit by a flying car and then you throw them on the normandy so everyone is safe then you get lasered beamed in the face then normal shit happens but at some point garrus was all 'lets gtfo, fuck shepard, leave his ass' and then they leave for some reason or something

theres 4 endings, you need to specify bro

The refusal ending is the only one that I find acceptable.

It's a shame that after playing three games in a series, and playing the first one and the second one multiple times, the only ending I can accept is one that completely destroys everything my character was fighting for and invested in and essentially reboots the franchise.

Maybe I'll get lucky and Obsidian or CD Projekt will get their hands on the Mass Effect IP?

...I won't hold my breath.

Can you imagine those guys trying to work on the IP with EA and Bioware breathing down their necks? All of Bioware's dudebro fans will be in shock and outrage mode saying "who are these bums working on my precious mass effect??" and Bioware will have to calm them down saying they'll keep a close eye to make sure everything remains in the "mass effect spirit".

It wouldn't work. It was bad enough with lucasarts and bioware breathing down Obsidian's neck on Kotor 2.

So the ending is still incomprehensible bullshit? Great. Okay. I'll just youtube it.

Sadly, I'm serious. Garrus, how could you?

I seriously thought you were being cheeky. That doesn't even make sense.

as for the kid it's really the only thing about the endings that bug me. i understand they needed a form for the AI to take when interacting with it but they should have used something unique or even used one of the characters you let die through out the series. then simply toss in the contact(movie) line where the alien ai says it's chosen this form so it's easier for you to comprehend.

The kid is really the best way to not raise unique defensive questions from common people regarding the choices you'll have to take.
It's telling you what you should do ... i guess they tried the least agressive existance they could think of

Blinded by disappointment maybe.

As for the rest of your comment...yeah. You're completely spot on. O.o

New content kicks in from when you enter the Citadel. So, you need a save from the beam run (and say hello to Marauder Shields).

No, the ending was bad because it was a bad ending, not because Bioware made it.

is the content up on Origin? I'm not seeing it in the list of available addons.

I want to be disappointed all over again, just like the rest of you.

I seriously thought you were being cheeky. That doesn't even make sense.

That hurts man. First Garrus and now you? ;_;

And here I thought me and Garrus were space bros until the end. :(

I wish there's a new dialogue option when Garrus tells you about drinking in Heaven BS. "LIES, You lying LIAR!! In a few hours, you'd have deserted me by flying away with Normandy. Denying that we were bros!"

Garrus is still my bro. I would have told him to escape with everyone too.

In fact we're such bros that he already knew that and just took initiative.

DeNile is not just a river in Citadel.

Also, the whole Normandy crash thing still doesn't make much sense. What about all the other ships that were in orbit around Earth? Why exactly was the skittlesplosion enough to disable the ship when Earth seemed to be pretty much fine?

And putting up the plaques was kind of odd as well. Timeline there? I mean, they apparently crash land on this deserted, tropical planet, but still have communications and are able to take the time out to determine whether or not Shepard and others are dead?

Please fucking stop.
You are calling this piece of shit, only slightly better than the original one the best videogame endings of all time.

Its impossible to say this with a straight face, not even by Mac Walter or Casey Hudson.

Im not a Bioware hater, well, im right now, but I LOVED the rest ME3 (and ME2, and ME1), but if two hacks are going to be directing the rest of their games with this final decissions, im not going to buy any game of them until they have changed of do a good result at the end.

Since people are asking, things I know they changed:

-Added scene during the march to the transportation laser that shows how your team mates get on Joker's ship. Includes extra dialogue and in my case, I got an extra dialogue choice. If you bring your romance partner, you also seem to get a new romance scene with them during this.

-There's a few added things before you get into the room with all the human body parts. Shows what the people in space are doing, and shows how Shepard ended up laying on the floor in a short cutscene as opposed to just waking up there randomly. The beginning conversation done here is also now converted into cutscene form rather than controllable, but you get control shortly after.

-A few short added scenes to help explain how you get to the star child a bit more.

-New added dialogue options with the star child to help explain things.

-A couple new endings, including an ending where you can deny what the star child proposes, and the 'everything becomes synthetic' ending now has a paragon and renegade version of the ending as well.

-The laser for the synthetic ending is no longer green, but blue. I'm almost certain this is to stop all the color jokes.

-A few added characters flash by when choosing your option.

-A new scene showing Joker and your team mates before helping explain why they're driving away, as well as a few extra scenes to show what happened to the Relays.

-New epilogue after they get stranded on the planet. Shows several new scenes and a series of slightly animated pictures play showing the 'outcome' of many of your squad mates story strings based on your choices. (there are more scenes beside the picture ones, though)

-I also hear if you complete it on a Legendary file, there's a new short added scene as well.

That's about all I noticed. Also I actually like the ending. I do think not everyone will though since it's exactly what they market it as, extended and with more detail and additions, rather than an all new ending together (though they do add in a new ending or two).

well krogans have babbies so i don't think the order in which they show it is accurate

Maybe Garrus was on to something!

So, did this auto patch into the game, or is there an addon I need to download on Origin?

r00d. Have some new synthesis ending and marvel at the horror.

You are probably Yurop peasant. That's why you can't see the DLC yet...until 4th of July. AHAHAHAHAHA!

I kind of liked Synthesis, I mean, yeah the logic behind it is pretty fucked, but I thought it was a nice ending that gave some closure without being the expected ending that Destroy gave you or the grim emo ending Refusal gave. The scene with Liara and EDI was pretty cool imo.

Control was fucking stupid though.

Each ending is now worse than it was before, tacking some digital paintings on the end with a voice over changes nothing. RGB now with added gold option. Choices meant dick, nothing of any real importance was expanded on, space kid still sucks. If anything I felt like I was being patronised by the voice overs (especially on the destroy ending). Good luck to you Bioware in all your future MP lucky dip scams, you have lost a loyal customer.

I really don't see how anybody can really say they are "worse" than before.

Watched two of the endings (Synthesis and Reject) on YouTube.

Well..
As for Synthesis: I liked the slideshow showing the fate of your crew, but it was too short (and cheap). They should have included more of them.
I don't know how I feel about the Krogans looking at a building plan smiling with the crane in the background. Or happily walking in the park with their children. The green glowing eyes.. ugh.

Reject: I could see this as the "real" (canon) ending, but I found it too short too. Should have showed a longer part of Liaras message and maybe one or two scenes of the next cycle's species defeating the Reapers, dunno.

I guess I'll play the other two myself, or at least one.

Conclusion: At least Synthesis isn't that bad anymore, but because of all that Starchild bullshit, the ending in total still sucks ass.
I'm back to stage 4, depression.

So the beam run afterwards are where the new things start? Sounds good, I think I have some saves from before the final Earth battles. I'll just set it to Narrative and call it a day.

All the endings are still terrible. 1.9 gigs of slide shows, amazing Bioware. Leave it to them to say they are going to try and fix the endings only to not even change the biggest problem, choices don't matter. At least the Refusal ending is okay I guess...
I don't regret selling my copy months ago.

Well I decided to watch them on youtube (Control, Refuse and Destroy) and I have to say they are better than what we got. They explain a bit more and show what actually happens after your choice. There is still some stuff that was a bit stupid but it was better. The Refusal ending should have a good and bad branch though.

I liked how the control ending was pretty much what I expected it to be way back when I first picked it. They aren't great endings but at least they are better. They still could have done a whole lot better though (not just with story, I mean making the Earth mission like the Collector's base mission in ME2).

They didn't deliver, which taints the whole thing more.

Destroy ending satisfied me enough. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either. It gave good closure, retconned some stupid things and plugged up some plot holes. Considering that they just extended the ending and didn't completely redo it, they managed to salvage it at least.

So how long till someone tracks down the originals to all the new ME3 slideshow photo's?

Will Krogan Baby end up being a photoshopped advert for diapers?

To be honest, I think my favorite part of the extended DLC (besides the explanations) isn't the ending itself, but the new scene you get with your teammates
before they take off on Joker's ship.
The ones I've seen/experienced so far have been pretty well done and appropriately a bit touching, as well as if you do it with a romance partner it's essentially an added romance scene.
