Good God.
I'm literally hard right now.
The real surprise here is how many posters seem surprised about the glory of the DSi XL - the baller Cadillac Escalade of handhelds. I've bought and sold a fair amount of my gaming hardware in my day, but selling my XL was the one move I really regretted (needed the money and technically I still have a Lite for my DS/GBA games, so I couldn't justify the DS redundancy). That bronze XL was heavenly. 
I sold my launch 3DS a while back with no regrets, but by the time the US gets some non-Playskool colors, I'm hoping the game library has improved enough for my tastes to justify a 3DS XL.

- the screen looks good, very good
- while the image looked worse on a DSiXL than on a DSi, it's not the case here. 3DSXL pixels look as defined as on 3DS.
- the screen seems very luminous
- 3D effect is more comfortable and more immediate
- the analog stick is more convenient to use, no need to bend your thumb anymore

Just made this to show the extra room below the d-pad, and to prove that both the d-pad and circle pads are both the same size, as they layer over perfectly:
There's a significant amount of extra room on the XL below the D-pad that isn't on the original 3DS, which should make it far, FAR easier to use.

I myself think that DSi games on DSi XL look good. I prefer to play them on the big screen.
Now the question is: Will playing DSi games on 3DS XL be the same - size-wise - as playing DSi games on DSi XL, and will the transition DSi > 3DS XL - quality-wise - look worse or same as DSi > DSi XL???
