scotus blog: The bottom line: the entire ACA is upheld, with the exception that the federal government's power to terminate states' Medicaid funds is narrowly read.

Embarrassing. Ruled unconstitutional under the commerce clause so they go crazy and jump the gun.

Journalism? How does it work.

Heh.

Lots of people in my office cheering when the saw the CNN headline. Heard a few guys talking about how "Obama's term has now been completely pointless."

Associated Press is reporting that the mandate is upheld, so I'm going with that.

Seriously... my fucking God, really shows how hackish CNN is now. Utterly awful.

And wanna see dat GOP denigrate SCJ Roberts now.

OMG this is going to be so delicious today. Will start reading through all of the conservative sites for maximum lulz today.

The hell is wrong with CNN ?

U.S. Supreme Court strikes down President Obama's health care law requiring Americans to buy health insurance.

Come again ?

Chief Justice Roberts' vote saved the ACA.

Can't believe it was 5-4 in favor. I thought it'd be 6-3 for or 5-4 against.

This court is even more conservative ideologues than we realized.

I'm so lost on this shit. They're all desperate to be first so they're just reporting the first things they read instead of all of it.

Dunno, maybe some are but CBS cut away so she could read it and then came back like 5 or so minutes later for her to explain what it was about and the rulings. Only thing struck down was states can't be forced to expand medicare.

I'd like to take a minute and gloat that I've argued its a tax in every aca thread

(and i still dont support the bill)

judging from fox news seems the new republican talking point will be that the dems lied to the public about it not being a tax (which is true)

That wasn't struck down, it was limited.

So we should be happy that the administration said this wasn't a tax and SCOTUS says the only way it is constitutional is if it's a tax? And the administration will be like yay we won? Lol.
