Romney is feeling extra derp know knowing he was on the right side of this issue for much of his earlier career. He'll never live this down.

Amy Howe:
The money quote from the section on the mandate: Our precedent demonstrates that Congress had the power to impose the exaction in Section 5000A under the taxing power, and that Section 5000A need not be read to do more than impose a tax. This is sufficient to sustain it.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait, so it's a tax, but you don't have to pay it....It leaves a lot of room for states' interpretation.

Amy Howe: The court reinforces that individuals can simply refuse to pay the tax and not comply with the mandate.

So there was some thing about the court is unable to review a tax until the tax is in place, does this mean we go through all this again when the mandate (now tax) is actually in place?

So we should be happy that the administration said this wasn't a tax and SCOTUS says the only way it is constitutional is if it's a tax? And the administration will be like yay we won? Lol.

Lol, can't wait for the spin. People are going to be pissed! Bittersweet for Obama too. Increased taxes. Yikes! Not a favorable policy in an election year! Lols

Wow...just wow CNN...in the rush to be first got it completely wrong. Completely embarrassing for a so called news organization.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON

Obama officially raised taxes on people making less than $500,000 a year.

Naw, it's a big victory for the President. I don't like it, but I'm glad at least they're acknowledging they had no authority to do this under the commerce clause.

Lmao @ CNN. They reported it struck down for like 10 minutes first. Dems were trying to be too clever by not calling it a tax but they got bailed out

Tuning into Fox News for some entertainment lol

They still won't apply the same logic to marijuana

Your first sentence is officially the new talking point btw (and its not wrong)

He'd also been pushing the reasoning that "when this is struck down, Obama's term will be pointless". So now that it's been completely upheld, Obama's term hasn't been pointless at all?

It was a foolish decision to hitch his campaign on things outside of his control.
