what is the secret to not getting permanently banned from NeoGAF.com?

I always assume blame space is telnetting into space and posting his posts through a space proxy.

He didn't become just famous, he became PRETENTIOUS. Super preten even.

And Timedog after winning that other thread vs . Blame Space became all hollywood, sold out and got a huge ego. Now he's all above normal gaf threads.

Typical.
 
There is no surefire way to not get banned. The only thing preventing massive IP-wide bans is the constant war raging between the mods themselves for supremacy.

This is some good GAF psychology lessons here. There are indeed a few members who love to bait people and watch them get banned, I am not gonna name them, but some were mentioned already, and to the good observer, a "bait" quote reply should be obvious, they slowly reel you in adding soft jabs at your comments , be careful new GAFers.

I've never once felt this way about a gender-related thread. Most people just wander into threads about sexuality or gender and seem to forget they're talking about people somehow.
 
Verging on 15k posts and I haven't been banned yet. I don't really have a strategy, but if I did it might be something like:

  • Don't be a dick.
  • Explain yourself.
  • Avoid sweeping generalizations.
 
Also is Blamespace going for a mod promotion or something?

Please don't laugh at my ignorance if such thing is not possible, I've lost my NeoGAF history book before I even read it.

I've notice recently all he does is make "helpful" threads for GAFers in general, he also seems very PC in his comments, just seems to be all around good "helpful" guy.
 
I heard a rumor which said that if you send a mod a picture of you hugging a pillow with his/her avatar on it you can get unbanned.

This is all I can say. Source is the neighbour's cat

that doesn't actually get you banned but it def gets you shat upon
 
The problem with the ToS is that it doesn't contain the more specific banned memes, pictures etc which you can post by accident.

I don't care for any of them. The fact that any one person treats any other person like they're better or special is crazy to me, regardless of whether they have a tag or a red name. When it comes down to it they're all just people behind computers. Talk to them like you'd talk to anyone else.

I always like to point out that there are so many incredibly kind, generous, and helpful posters here that go unnoticed because they don't seek attention.

There was a short period recently where most of the "celebrities" were banned at the same time. Paradise.

who cares about being a celebrity? I'm the King of Games.
 
I'm no GAF celeb, I just get former mods judging me based on my username.
And by judging I mean insulting me completely unprovoked.
 
1) Don't demean or ridicule gay, lesbian, or transgendered people.
2) Don't admit to piracy or tell others they're pirates.
3) Don't say something that is sexist or racist.
4) Don't deny the Holocaust.
5) Don't say you want to have sex with your daughter.
6) Don't tell Evilore to eat a bag of shit.
7) Don't say every game on a particular platform is crap.
8) Don't spoil something that most people haven't seen.
9) Don't make a joke in a topic about someone who has just died, or in a topic about someone who has just had something really terrible happen to them.
10) Don't post gigantic pictures of pornography.
11) Don't hack the site or steal a moderator's account.
12) Don't tell a moderator to "fuck off" during a debate.
13) Don't tell people you object to anything on the basis of your religious views.
14) Don't steal from people in the buy/sell/trade thread.
15) Don't claim to have insider information when you are not actually an insider.
16) Don't threaten someone's life or say you wish a real person was dead, unless that person is a killer, murderous dictator, terrorist, or other vile person.
17) Don't post a topic specifically to make fun of another topic.
18) Don't post personal information about a forumer, especially if that forumer is part of the gaming industry.
19) Don't admit to enjoying any criminal activity that harms another person.
20) Don't post anything so vulgar that you'd be ashamed to read it to your best friend.
