Serious answer: I'm pretty sure Krillin asks King Kai this at some point and King Kai explains that he's actually doing it still, but he's doing it so fast you can't see it. Something like that.

So a couple of weeks ago, I willingly watched this
And for the life of me, I can not tell if it was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek or legitimately believed its own bullshit.
Like, let's put aside that it's nothing like the manga or the anime. That's fine. If you want to use a license to strike out and make your own story, go for it. But it hedges this weird line it wants to try and stay accurate while in no way being accurate while being super serious and trying to lampshade that it is pure shit. It's like six different directors jizzed their idea of a martial arts movie in to a cup, stirred it together, and tried to inject it directly in to a camera.
And Chow Yun-Fat is in it, poor, poor Chow Yun-Fat. You can tell he legitimately wanted to try. You could tell that when his agent told him he would be in a Hollywood-produced Dragonball movie as Roshi that he had big ideas of what it would be. And you just see his soul get crushed more and more, scene after scene, until life just wasn't worth living anymore. Until watching this movie, I have never seen anyone look happy in their own death scene, but you can tell CYF was jut tired of it and wanted to leave.
Also Yamcha wins a fight in the movie, so what the fuck is that, Dragonball Evolution? Yamcha can not beat any non-supernatural enemies, including aliens. You had one job. ONE JOB.

Snap. A show is usually garbage when 90% of the dialogue is "AHHHHHHH" "WHAT THE?!" "HE'S TOO STRONG!" or when a basic plot is repeated constantly.
People didn't watch DBZ because it was good. We watched because it was AWESOME
