What excuse did you use when someone used this tactic on you during your epic trolling of The Avengers earlier this year?

How my hair look Mike.....

No but seriously if The Wire is on Netflix atm folks should watch. A really good show. Not a movie, but its worth the time. Hit up the LTTP thread afterwards. If not, HBO GO that shit.

Signed up for Netflix hoping they'd have Hell's Kitchen on there...

Hulu has Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, as well as a couple other shows from the UK. Ramsey is the main reason I signed up for Hulu. I love the meltdowns but he also has a side that is pure excellence. It's great to see it in action.

Just so we have every opinion: Super 8 and Prometheus are both interesting and frustrating and I'd watch each again. I prefer Super 8, slightly.

Does anyone organize their instant queue? If so, how do you do it? Just by genre? I need to do something to make my queue easier to navigate when I'm in the sluggish menu of my consoles/bluray player.

Also - I'd like to throw a recommendation out there for Portlandia. Funny sketch comedy that reminds me a bit of modern/hip Kids in the Hall. And its been recommended a bunch before but I'm going through Trailer Park Boys again and its so friggin funny. Great show.

Just finished watching The Peep Show on Netflix. One of the best sitcoms I've ever seen.

Glad you enjoyed it, makes me proud to be British. I love that even though so much of it is UK-centric it's so popular abroad. Series 8 is coming out in autumn, don't know how long it'll take to get onto Netflix though.

I try to organize it by rating, but Netflix and even 3rd party apps make that absurdly hard to do.

I don't have a massive queue (around 100 titles right now), but I split it up by TV shows and everything else (movies, documentaries, etc.) and alphabetize both. Simple, but it works for me.

I just keep what I am seeing now and what expires at the top. But I haven't ordered my stuff, wished Netflix had some stuff for that.

I use a Firefox plugin to organize my queue alphabetically.

Half the time I try to organize it on Netflix's site, it doesn't preserve the changes. And stuff leaving and coming back messes it up too. So mine's not intentionally organized, but a lot of it is ordered just due to me going on sprees of adding certain types of movies. So I've got a stretch of noir, section of horror, and so on.

A lot of good movies came out today. I have no idea if they have been on netflix before but some of the highlights:

Red Dawn
Taps
Syriana
K-19: The Widowmaker
Stigmata
Boyz N The Hood

And more!!!

I can definitely say i am now content to be a netflix member. What i like about these new releases is what i was initially disappointed with when i first signed up was the lack of older movies on netflix and it seems at least for today netflix has made a small step in the right direction with some of these older movie releases.

hmmm never saw red dawn

I watched Taintlight last night. It's a low budget sophomoric parody of Twilight. It's absurd, ridiculous, and self aware. It's only an hour and you'll be laughing uncontrollably at all that's happening.

MOTHER OF FUCKING HELL, THAT WAS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF SHIT MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFETIME!

I got suckered in watching Transformers 2 & skipped this movie when it was out.
Watched it out of morbid curiosity last night. I remember glancing over the Transformers 3 movie thread back a few months & how some people were saying Micheal Bay is one of the industry's best directors & how Transformers 3 was sooo much better than 2.

If I say anything more about the movie or about those people who liked it, I will without a doubt be banned, so I'll say say this, do yourself a favor & don't watch this film. Those fake Transformers direct to DVD, Transmorphers, movies are probably better than the shit I saw last night.

I just discovered The Rum Diary is up on netflix. I kind of want to watch the movie, but I've heard so many things about how it misses the point of the book completely and is basically Fear and Loathing in Puerto Rico. I do want to watch a movie tonight, though. Can anyone here recommend it?

Rotton Tomatoe gave 21 jumper street reboot got a very good rating. The movies is so stupid and over the top.

You do know the nature of Rotten Tomatoes, right? It doesn't "give" a movie anything. It's an aggregate of reviews. And a movie with 90 percent RT rating might not be as well received as one with a 75 percent rating.

Oh shit, a movie was over the top? Fuck, I hate it when they aren't all as boring as the average person's day to day life.

I actually had the chance to watch it last night. The movie gets the dialogue right but it's about the only thing it gets right. The shots of puerto rico are nice but overall a pretty bland movie. The movie has these characters that they introduce you to but you really don't care about. Not too mention the ending is pretty generic. I would give it a 5/10. Rum Diary isn't worth the time (unless if you've read the book already).

Yeah I've read the book and really liked it, and was pretty psyched when I found out they were making a movie because I thought it could translate well to film.

The first half of the movie was really good but it went downhill from there. I would give it a 6/10. I've never read the book though.

Eh I worded wrong.

I watched the movie and thought it was great; regardless you're trying to argue that RT's aggregate rating disagreeing with your opinion alone proves the entire site false, which isn't a sound argument. Just like using RT as evidence that your opinion is correct isn't a sound argument. RT is useless for anything but seeing what critics on the whole felt about a film, and even for that it's shaky. Average reviews can be counted as rotten or fresh and skew the score.
Basically what I'm saying is it only makes sense to discuss your own opinion on a film

ok

The Fifth Element? YES!

Never seen it in it's entirety. Going to now! :D

One of the most fun sci-fi movies of the 90s IMO (not quite up there with Starship Troopers). I wish I could see it for the first time again.

"Anybody else want to negotiate?"

Bwah ha ha ha!

Thanks to everyone who recommended The Fifth Element. I loved it!

I watched it just the other day. It was OK, as others have said it's a little lightweight and doesn't really say much of anything in particular. I did like how they included the incredibly tense and racially dodgy scene I remember from the book
at the dance party. Man, seeing that on film makes me realise how racist that scene is. One blonde girl. Lots of black men. Sweaty, glistening, ripped black chests. Rock and roll music. Anonymous black men seem to have some psychic link to kick out the white guys. Blonde girl suddenly gets about 12 more dicks than she was expecting. I don't know if I'm suggesting that the filmmakers or Hunter were explicitly racist, but the scene knowingly trades on white anxiety around black sexuality, and as such it's incredibly charged and scary. Food for thought
