So... an editor at Viz said that there was going to be a One Piece related announcement at Anime Expo that would drive the fans crazy.

We did not get that. What we got was a god damn ice cream truck, and an AR Luffy. And Viz wonders why the fans don't trust them and why they're losing money.

Magi - Volume 8 (ch69-78)

That was pretty awesome. Aladdin made a great reappearance, and the events really elevated the scope of the series in a really big way. It feels like some of the major worldview expansion moments in FMA, like the end of the Greed arc, where stuff really started to open up and the long term goal in the series becomes clearer. Some of the action was pretty badass too. Makes me wish BONES would do the anime instead. :(

The time skip was kinda odd, and I wasn't expecting it, but it seems they used it as a breather + comedy elements instead of really having huge changes develop over that time. Kinda odd, but whatever. It looks like the manga might be entering a training arc after this. Not sure how I feel about that. I hope it doesn't last for too long! >_<

It's more screwing around than an actual training arc.

But yeah, it's not that bad and pretty funny.

Code:Breaker

Fussy Lunch makes me think this series wouldn't be that bad if Ogami was an actual villain and not the protagonist.

Ogami was fine till Sakura fucked it all up.

Now we are stuck with "LOVE ME, GRAB MY BOOBS" garbage. Right now I am just reading it for Heike's trolling.

I kind of have trouble liking series where the main character is portrayed as both sympathetic and a complete monster unless it's a massive crapsack world where everyone is a psycho killer like Dorohedoro.

Have some faith, ffs!

Sounds like you were driven crazy... With rage. They told the truth.

Detective Conan

Holy fuck. getting
kaito kid
into the plan was brilliant. Shame this probably means no more 'main story arc' stuff for another year or 2 T_T.

Not even close, they keep playing hide and seek with the black organization, but there's really no attempt to actively pursue them. Other than the black organization is making their moves.

Odd, didn't the mangaka talk about how he got the ending all ready and what not?

Probably bs/gonna be a while.

It does seem the recent case has finally put something in motion. I fucking hate how when they have a character do the 'mysterious grin/look' at the end of a chapter and nothing happens from it ;/

but fuck it, I'll stay on this train until it ends.

And that's a shame.

I used to absolutely love the manga.

Interesting plot, interesting characters. Possibility of a lot of sub-plots (with kaito kid..etc)
Yet it wasn't moving forward and the cases started to be the same everytime.

In the end I totally lost interest.

So you're saying Conan is Sunday's equivalent to Ippo?

First read when I'm in elementary school, now I'm graduated from college and this is not getting any closer. Suspension of disbelief broken and all that :(

GE 55

"hey, you know that girl you like? She likes you too! You should ask her out, it's a lock!"

"But what if she says no? I DON'T WANNA BE REJECTED"

Magi 89-109

Damn, these past couple of chapters have been great! Everything from the battles to Zagan's messed up dungeon was engaging and fun as hell to read through.

Now the wait begins ;_;

GE 59

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

So, Wiseblade, why did you decide to torture yourself?

Because reading the stupid decisions of a certain other group of people was pretty funny...

EDIT: GE 60

Yes, this is some good schadenfreude!

EDIT2: No, don't explain the situation or anything, just sulk in you bed. That'll solve everything!

Wait, so you started reading it so you could read the posts of other people who did the mistake of reading it?

There's something to be said about this situation.

Kaikisen - Return to the Sea vol 1 END

This is soo good. It's one of those city people vs countryside people mixed in with fantasy elements. I loved the mermaid's legend and how they kept the mystery around her until the end of the manga and the reveal was pretty damn solid. I was also impressed by how detailed the backgrounds were in the manga, really helps to make it more alive.

There was also another short story at the end of the volume which was a nice read but I don't know if it was somehow connected to the main story or not. I think it takes place in the same town?

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha Gaiden - Madoromi no Onna Mahou Tsukai 1

Ah yes, another MMY manga, this time it follows the Mage. First chapter is still the same opening as the other manga adaptations, but they did show the other party members at the end. This should be a different adaptation since it should just deal with the Mage travelling around so hopefully it turns out well.

So I'm looking to buy all 15(16?) volumes of Hokusai Manga but there are so many different prints and compilations and I've heard many of them have been altered. I want to find versions which are true to the originals.

If anyone has some advice on this it'll be greatly appreciated.

Gogo Monster vol 1 END

Why is Taiyo Matsumoto like the god manga? This surpasses Black and White when it comes to mindfucking. That entire segment when Yuki went to the other side is awesome. I really love the ambiguity about Yuki and whether the spirit world is just fantasy, reality or some sort of metaphor. I'm kinda going for the last thing even though there was some evidence it was all real. Good read.
