Bleach

Hey, earlier these dudes discussed the "three battle potentials" right?

Aside from Ichigo, who are the other two?

They seem to think Uryuu should be a lot tougher than he is, so I guess he's the 2nd or something. But the 3rd?

I highly doubt it's Chad or Orihime considering Kubo hates them.

Either Aizen, Isshin or Urahara.

i wish Kishimoto would stop focusing on the the main character sasuke so much and do something with side characters like Naruto

LOL
Not gonna happen, sasuke will always outshine Naruto.

One Piece Nice
Hope we get some screen time during this arc with Dofalamingo.

Bleach:

This is just stupid. Himmler doesn't seem to even be a strong Quincy and he's still kicking?

And Chad and Orohime are useless as always!
Well it is Kubo afterall.

And we've got our table of contents for this week:

Takamagahara (Cover, Lead CP, New Series, 54pg.)
Toriko
One Piece
Assassination Classroom (Center Colour, 23pg.)
Nisekoi
Naruto
Kuroko no Basket
PSI Kusuo Saiki
Haikyuu!! (Center Colour, 23pg.)
Koisome Momiji
Sensei no Bulge (First Ranking)
Sket Dance
Beelzebub
Gintama
Medaka Box (Center Colour)
Bleach
Kochikame
Reborn!
Pajama na Kanojo
Kurogane

Oh come on, Reborn! lower than Bleach, what even? Tsuna has been so good this arc, while Ichigo has been missing for chapters.

Not bad, all 3 SJ chapters were good together.

Naruto

Short but sweet. Madara is going straight after Naruto (yikes) and Sasuke is going to meet up with Orochimaru again. I'm still confused over the logistics of the decision but i'm interested nonetheless.

One Piece

It started out a little slow when they showed us the situation regarding the parents of the missing children, but started to pick up when they returned to punk hazard. Virgo being "Jokers" inside man is a great plot point, and one deserving of a semi-extensive flashback imo. Joker being Dofla's leaves me speechless. Shadowbroker anyone haha.

Bleach

Ok! I wasn't just hallucinating, Tite Kubo has realized that Ichigo's bankai actually does something other than making him look stylish; increasing his speed! Hopefully that comes into play in the later fights. The chapter itself was straightforward and somewhat decent. We were given a fairly detailed look into most of their abilities, (outside of bankai stealing) so they're not just "fullbringers-recolored." Hopefully Ichigo being trapped should allow kubo to focus on characters that deserve screentime (Rukia please!) over characters that don't. (No thank you Byakuya)

One Piece

I know, that Law and Don Flamingo have a past together. Law's Jolly Roger looks just too similar to Don's. Existing to see what his master plan will be and why Law isn't a part of his crew anymore.

Haikyuu!! 14
Great chapter, great victory, last few pages' art was good.
The manga kind of reminds me of Eyeshield 21, that's a good thing.

I have never read anything by the author of this manga, Est Em, but she seems to have done a lot of work. Most of her manga aren't translated and the ones that are translated are mostly yaoi. I will probably still read them (join me DTL) since I want to see how she tackles that particular genre. I also want to see Golondrina getting translated just based on the cover

I want to read Age Called Blue and the apartments one but :(

Anyway I did check out Ultras!

I think Ive definitely become a fan of sketchy art style, or either it feels kind of refreshing and unique to each manga that I enjoy the change of styles. It really works well for the genre as characters always feel a bit more brought to life in it and motion of stuff feels a bit better, and at times it can do faces so detailed.

The main story and the extras for it was good, misunderstandings to both parties admitting their feelings always gets to me, and I enjoyed them (I didn't think people were so into sports to be diehard fan supporters to almost let it interfere with their love lifes, and there was a nice moral life lesson there).

The rest were just one shots, with the one shot about the two swindler dudes, though in their own way, coming together was nice and the most memorable to me. John and Jean Smith were great. The most interesting one was the one on the Onlooker mainly
i was not prepared for him to be turned on just by starring at the dude eating ice cream or something, lol, but it was alright
, unforgettable. The other two were good too, really apart from the first stories slowish start, I think every story was good in its own way.

Pretty enjoyable, nice author suggestion, thanks.

Bleach

So uh, anyone else notice that Kubo drew Ichigo's original Tensa Zangetsu (the cool straight katana with the swastika guard instead of the weird looking upgrade it got when he combined Fullbring with it) the entire chapter? XD

I'd be okay with it looking the way it used to again honestly, even though it's most likely a mistake. His Fullbring/Shinigami combo outfit is cool (could have used more Fullbring representation IMO though) but the sword design was a dud to me.

Naruto
tumblr_m6mn3ymAtK1r6fpeno1_500.jpg

What was Mei Terumi even thinking, giving up?! what even, she should be trying to protect everything and go all out, not back down, surrender and run away. Thank goodness it wasnt Gaara suggesting such a thing, shes honestly a terrible kage.

But Suigetsu returned making this an awesome chapter, right there with Kiba as my favorite secondary characters! Suigetsu says and does some funny things, and gets along best with Sasuke. That was tied for the other two excellent moments this chapter, the Suigetsu Sasuke conversation as well as the Naruto imagining that Tobi is in pain moment. This was fun.

Bleach
This is stupid, the "Oops, the guy is still alive and kicking, my bad lulz!"-bullshit I'd expect from someone else, no Urahara.

Naruto
Is this the first sign of The Sauce's change of heart that I'm seeing?
Not sure about seeing Orochimaru again.

One Piece
The story is coming nicely together. Robin's remark about Luffy and Smoker beeing in a cage again was awesome. I hope Chopper will come to the rescue cause it's been a while since he's been put in the limelight.

Naruto

Ok, ok, you have my interest. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Oro fits into this story with Tobi and Madara. Sasuke may end up turning, which would disappoint me slightly, but there's alot of mystery that will be unveiled before that ever happens, so it's whatever.

One Piece

The best fucking chapter ever...ok, that's going too far. :P But seriously...Doflamingo-bruh, y u such a boss?

Remember that awesome quote on the battlefield back in chapter 556 ("Whoever wins this war becomes justice")? Dude has the potential to be the most awesome villain in One Piece (if he isn't already).

Best girl in manga, NO CONTEST

Manga is currently top 5 for me and absolutely hilarious.

Pastel

Are you fucking kidding me? Another plot revolving around a cat? Unbelievable, seriously unbelievable.

One Piece

INTERESTING

Yeah, Law's flag suggested that he was an ex-subordinate of Doflamingo, but having it confirmed is nice. I can only assume that some explanation of how he managed to climb the marine ranks and maintain he presence as a Warlord will be in the next few chapters, because that part is ridiculous. Did the World Government know? Were they covering for him? Some third thing? WHO KNOWS!

What are you talking about ?
Law once used to work for Doflamingo then he left to do his own thing and became a warlord.
Vergo is a pirate but Doflamingo told him to join the marines as a spy , Vergo worked his way up to VA after 15 years and he is Doflamingo right arm man .
You can't be a Marine and a Warlord at the same time.

Chances are that Doflamingo said nothing, or even praised Law when he made Shichibukai.

One Piece

It's a Flamingo arc!! Yeah.

DoFlamingo's easily on my top 3 of stories to get into in OP. Didn't think this would be about him at all. I want to go full-time into this and go all the way up to Flamingo. My blood will turn blue if it's another "sorta show a tiny bit of the guy, but be about something else" kind of arc. All signs point to this being the big one (provided they change islands eventually).

I'm so excited argh. It's Flamingo, guys, shit. There's that stuff about the "new world", and the guys who told him to kill Moria, and all sorts of nonsense.

I called it that Vergo will be Joker's dude, so that's cool. Also seeing his profile face having french fries on his face is hilarious, I love this guy already.

One Piece 673

I'm assuming the reason Franky is asleep is so that Vergo/Law can give back story before he wakes up and just blasts his way out of the cage with a mouth cannon or something?

The chapter was decent enough but I wish Oda would stop tossing Emperors/Shichibukai/Admirals into the arcs all the time now in order to make the stories more "exciting"/make up for weak villains. Law/Ceasar and Vegapunk connection/Aokiji vs Akainu were enough as it is.

I wasn't sure if they were french fries or something sticking off of his marine uniform.

One Piece

So Joker, is Don Flamingo. Vergo works for him, and so did Law in the past. Vergo is also a Vice Admiral and the head of G-5.

All the predictions we made regarding hints from past chapters, and not a single one of us ever guessed any of this as a possibility. Oda once again proving he is the master of this manga shit. :/

One Piece

Hmmm...even though Saobondy was so close to G5 pre-timeskip the marines never intervened with the slave business that Doflamingo was running. Hmmmmm.

I have no idea how I got from "vergo is a subordiante of Doflamingo" to "vergo is doflamingo" over the course of two seconds, but it happened.

One Piece:

Holy shit Oda, you the man. This chapter brought everything together nicely and explained quite a bit, especially the reveal about Law being Doflamingo's subordinate. Law's flag has always been a sign to his affiliation with him but we finally understand his reason for using the smiley flag now. And speaking of which, I totally called Joker being Doflamingo, everything just fit too nicely for it not to be. The reference to Alabasta, the slime monster actually being a DF user, Virgo being a V.A. and the Doflamingo reveal made this chapter WAY too awesome.

Anyone thinking we might actually get to see Doflamingo show up at the end of this arc, sorta like Kuma did at the end of Thriller Bark? That would be too fucking nuts.

I get you completely, but consider that we have to get to these guys eventually. I was always under the impression that most of the big guys in the New World would be people already revealed (well, revealed like Kaido and Big Mom were "revealed").

Imagine if we now had an arc about a totally new guy unrelated from all these people. Fresh as it would be, now one of the dozens of big guys is under-represented. And then in the end all these dudes will pop up in the final war, get rushed into closing up shop, and that's it.
Plus everyone in this thread will bitch that none of the important people are in the arc and that it's boring.

So we're sort of at the point where an arc in One Piece means it's an arc in the cohesive world of One Piece, and not a standalone thing. I could be wrong and we'll suddenly get a new Enel or something, but I don't want you to hope for this too much and maybe be disappointed every arc.

But it makes sense for this to happen there in the NW which is rule by the Emperors.
Akainu put Marine HQ into the NW so the marines can get a better foothold in there .
Plus Doflamingo is the only Warlord that not really get arc with the SH yet.

Plus the SH are not small time rookies anymore there are world renowned pirates there are going to interact with all the big boys from both the marines and pirate world plus where ever else.
Maybe we get a stand alone arc like when they go some country or something else but i expect most arcs going to have a connection to OP world superpowers in some way or the other .

One Piece

INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS. This is awesome.

Question though. Is Big Mom still going to be involved with this saga, or is it Doflamingo's now?

Naruto

The only way this chapter can be good is if Orochimaru comes back as the main antagonist.

Bleach

Stupid boring time wasting. Betting Grimmjow comes in next chapter.

Feck it, new Ch500 prediction: Here comes Grimmjow
I'd love it if they had Grimmjow just stand up from the exact same spot where he was cut down by Nnoitra almost five years ago, and walk over and just start beating the shit out of Kirge.
It'll never happen exactly like those circumstances, but man would that be glorious.

Then the illusion is complete.

I think I need a cold shower right now.

Anway, the big 3 this week weren't that bad although there was a bit of shit in all of them, like Zoro's group running around like idiots, Ichigo getting caught like a fucking noob and Urahara not even noticing it or Sasuke being Sasuke.
