The Dark Knight Rises Unsafe (?) Hype Thread |5 Spoiled, 2 Of Them Mods!|

The only option I have of watching this on a legit IMAX screen is an Omnimax/Imax Dome theater. Everything else around me is small screen imax. Going to watch it on the domed imax anyway because it wasn't that bad for TDK...although i'm gonna see it first on a regular screen at the marathon. Either that or I have to go on a road trip

I found some more impressions about the movie. I don't consider the following spoilers, but I'll tag them anyway. (I'll only post the bits I found more interesting - and this is all about the person's opinion, anyway).

- The whole cast is fantastic, but if she were to choose someone that almost steals the show, it would be Anne Hathaway;

- Bane is just as good of a villain as The Joker;

-The ending is awesome;

Her ranking of the trilogy: TDK > TDKR >> BB

Link? Source? Person?

That title is due to a mod fucking my shit up. This ISN'T a spoiler thread. This is a hype thread. Want to talk spoilers? Get your ass to the choppa spoiler thread.

ha, that made me laugh for some reason :P

I see.

Seems to be a split between those that prefer TDK and TDKR. I'm just happy if it's a good movie that brings the series to a nice close.

Ditto, I'm very much okay with the fact that (it seems) they actually pulled off making a good 3rd film. How it's going to rank between the other 2 is simply a personal opinion, but the fact that it'll probably differ immensely per person instead of something like "BB>TDK>>>>>>>>>>>TDKR" overall is a very, very good thing.

I wasn't expecting to be doing that Thursday marathon, but after a 30 second conversation with the crew last night we said fuck it, lets go. Tickets purchased (or as some weirdos on here say "tickets booked"), lets do it. Batman Begins, get hyped. Dark Knight, take nap. Dark Knight Rises, go nuts.

I'm thinking now that I'm gonna see it on the local Regal RPX screen instead of the fake IMAX nearby, as I like the Regal theatre a lot more, and the experience is pretty much the same. I don't mind the "LieMAX" theatres, though, as the legit ones are a bit too much for me anyway. Seeing TDKR on anything but a true 70mm screen is kind of pointless anyway since you're not even going to get the full effect of the IMAX footage.

Heh, well, I'm just going to guess that some people were starting to think that since it hadn't been built in time for the Dark Knight, it would never get done.

They mentioned in DK that they were rebuilding it, thats why all the 'batcave' stuff were in a construction zone.

It's weird becuase when I walked out of The Dark Knight, I thought the Joker was simply amazing, and while the rest of the film was good, as a whole it wasn't better then Batman Begins. Now that I've watched it over five times, it has not only surpassed Batman Begins, but also dethroned Spiderman 2 as my favorite superhero movie ever.

The Harvey Dent/Two Face arc has really grown on me, I love how the complex plot unfolds, and really dig the detective film-like vibe you get when watching it. I still cringe at Bale's Batman voice though, and the joker's end was very anti-climatic along with still being eerie (consider what happened to Heath Ledger).

I don't know how people can do the trilogy marathon in IMAX. Nearly 8 hours of sitting in a cinema seat, watching an enormous IMAX screen. I'd be exhausted by the time TDKR finally comes on.

I think there are like 30-50 minute breaks between movies. The one i'm going to has a 30 minute break after BB and a 44 minute break after TDK

I haven't seen either BB or TDK since their theater run (BB on opening day, TDK a week or so later).

I have both of them on Blu Ray. I really need to rewatch.

Hmm, this is good to know.
Any idea what happens if you show up late? Some of the girls that are going don't want to sit through the whole thing so they were going to show up at 11:30.

NYC press screening happened with 50 people on Friday I believe? Along with another sat. morning in L.A. That is why this thread has imploded with gifs, bale out, puns.

That was for only the biggest NYC press, not the all-media (and certainly no one from online press that I know). I'm a small fish in a big sea here, so it will likely be a few days before it hits theaters.

I assume they'd still let you in, not sure if you can just get a ticket for TDKR and see it in the same screening room as the marathon or what. Also it seems some theaters only have 15 minute breaks in between movies

I did the math for mine, the breaks are probably going to be about 15 minutes. 6:30 start time.

I will be curious to see what happens when all the midnighters start coming in. I have no way of gauging how crowded this marathon is going to be and if there are available seats. If there are seats then I'd imagine they will fill them with the night crowd. It is the best theater in the building. I will reject all of them for not enduring.

i asked this the other day, but didn't really get an answer. i'm going to try again...

can anyone absolutely confirm that nolan and hardy are going to be at the july 20th 12:00am showing at the lincoln square imax in nyc?

it was discussed as fact back in the spring in the (then) current dkr thread. i'm just trying to confirm. i've searched several times on google, but have not come up with anything. any help would be appreciated.
