Anyone fall for Jabba's Palace yet? I'd buy it if not for knowing what a chump I'd be for paying $120 for a 717 piece set :| I must stay strong... Should be able to find it for $99 or less with some luck in the coming weeks.

I want them to release another Yoda's hut (with a NEW Yoda sculpt! We deserve one dammit)

I feel weird saying this but I'd love a UCS Boba bust. This MOC is freaking amazing:

In fact, the piece count doesn't even look that big. It might not even qualify as a UCS set.

I've seen these listed for a few days... nobody wants to snatch these up?

Grand Emporium 10211 for $122

Tower Bridge #10214 for $196

Those are pretty good discounts if you don't mind dinged-up boxes

Do you like lots of tiny bricks that are great for adding detail to MOCs? Do you really want over 500 light tan cheese slope pieces? Or do you just love really awesome and huge sets for a great price?

Then buy Tower Bridge.

I'd jump on it in a second if that wouldn't empty my bank. The fire brigade I got for my birthday came from there and was barely dinged up at all. I can't imagine the 8 dollar price difference means that much more mess.

I've ordered probably 12 or 15 sets off amazon warehouse so far, all "damaged" boxes on discount. At least two of them looked BRAND NEW, i could not even tell why they were marked as damaged! The worst I've gotten looked like it had been drop kicked, but even that is not going to damage the contents.

To those reading, I recommend ordering from them if that sounds acceptable.

So odd. Sets like Tower Bridge, Taj Mahal, and the Modulars don't get tagged as such, but licensed sets do? Maybe that's the caveat here.

They usually don't officialy tag these products as UCS though either. Doesn't say it anywhere on the boxes or manuals, they just get labled as such since the product lines usually have real small cheap sets, and the deluxe sets get labled as UCS since it's not the norm.

lol

and off-topic but now I need a UCS A-Wing :p

I'll take an A-Wing, and a redesigned Falcon and Star destroyer.

Pricing is worrying me though. B-wing and haunted house are significantly more expensive than previous sets. Maybe they have larger pieces and so need more plastic, but haunted house is the same number of pieces as Pet Shop, but the same price as Town Hall. B-wing is only a couple hundred more pieces than the Millenium falcon but $60 more expensive

Price is nothing (unless it is a crazy deal we all can join in on:)) because...

Here's the real question - what's showing up at the home?

That is all that matters. What sets are you getting? Then we know whether to be jealous or not. :)

Well I haven't ordered anything yet as I plan to make a trip to the LEGO Store sometime this week. I do plan to buy all of this though, anyway here's what's in My Bag

Couple of Pick A Bricks
Queen Anne's Revenge
The Black Pearl
Fountain of Youth (For Minifigs)
Isla de la Morta ( For Minifigs)
Dino Defense HQ
All of the LotR Sets

Haha, that's pretty great. I wonder if it would look better if they used flat tile pieces instead of the plate pieces.

Maybe they didn't have that many of that color.

Thanks. :)

Releasing Dec 1st! My wallet is ready. I own all the LotR sets (including orc forge!), so very happy with them :)

I can't wait to buy 5 different sets just to get all 13 dwarves :P :P honestly though, I'll do it without complaints

This brings up an interesting point. How are we going to handle spoilers for this movie going forward? No doubt we'll have images of the LEGO representations from at least a few key scenes, long before the movie releases.

What say you, LEGO-GAF?

go read the hobbit now and save yourself some potential heartache :) it's not a cure-all but it will go a long way. because I doubt many people here will purposefully avoid the images. best get as prepared as possible

one of the biggest spoils would be smaug's design, but i think they'll release some photos before the sets are shown. hopefully :)

I've read the book, so I'm ready, but I wanted to get a least a small consensus before I start posting more pics (probably) in a few days.

The sheer size of the model when completed says otherwise.

And I usually just consider any 10k series model an UCS. That is cheating, but it makes me feel better.

I was just thinking that I am most likely underestimating its scale when assembled, just as I did with the Sopwith. As others have said, though, it seems to lack that "uber detail/density of pieces" look that is somewhat synonymous with a lot of UCS sets.

Good eye - yes it is!

If that price is a good price (I don't know the conversion nor what it would regularly go for), and you're into/interested in Technic, it's a FANTASTIC buy. It was my first larger Techinic set and it delivers on all accounts. It gives you a feel for some basic mechanics, has a V4 engine (which is a blast to assemble and see in motion), and an excellent B-Model (which is the one I'm building now).

Cheers, Nicoga. It's a nice looking set. I'm really only drawn to the aesthetic of it rather than the Technic "buildability" of it. My Unimog and Crane Truck have satiated that thirst for quite some time.

So, that being said, I'd rather drop the bones on something like the 4993 Cool Convertible. Does anyone own this set? Is it - as the name suggests - COOL?!

Someone here owns it - I remember them talking about it a while back.

And yeah, if you've got the Crane Truck (little jelly...) AND the Unimog, you're good. The A-Model of the cruiser is pretty awesome. I'll be done with the B-Model tonight, so we'll see how I feel about it.

With the new 4x4 coming out on the 23rd, I'm unsure if I want to ever dip on the Unimog or just go straight for that Crawler. I probably should buy the Unimog since it'll be around for significantly less time...Excavator is already on order, so I'll have to buy the Unimog next month (I try to limit myself to $200 a month of LEGO, haha), and follow up with the 4x4 in September. October will likely be the new chopper OR some rechargeable battery packs.

Oh LEGO... <3

Dudeeeee. $182 from Germany via Bricklinkkkkk (sure, the shipping costs could be brutal, but it's very much affordable in an 'I'll-say-anything-to-justify-spending-thousands-of-dollars-on-coloured-bricks' kinda way).

Once I get my Excavator and Unimog, I may hunt one down and wait on the 4x4. I'm going to want the 4x4 because "new and shiny", but given that I'm only now getting into Technic, I need to be picky. I also want to Bricklink some of the older cranes and vehicles, so I've got some purchases ahead of me!

Bueno. The Technic bug has a pretty lasting bite - enjoy it! Personally, I'm on a bit of a "Creator-ish vehicle" kick. I was all set to jump on this yesterday, as I think it looks quite awesome:

Around 600 or so pieces, but coming in at a premium (150AUD + shipping) due to its rarity, I guess :(.

Woah, I can't say I've seen that one before. You may be able to check Rebrickable with your current sets + some BL to get it for cheaper (unless you're into complete + box for collectable reasons).

I've got this. I'm not into cars usually, but I think it's the best looking of the Creator vehicles - clearly, I did grab it! The canopy is nice, although the plates are a little fragile. My two-year old loves it as it's chunky and big and otherwise very durable/good for whizzing along the floor. I have only built the main car so far, but want to disassemble and try the other modes soon.

If you can grab it at a good price, go for it.

After building the new R2 set, I kind-of want to collect the pieces to do another one, but of one of the other R2 units you see in the movies. I used to play the Decipher Star Wars Customizable Card Game way back when and they'd had cards for all these different R2 units. One that immediately comes to mind is the one that blows his lid in front of Luke. And in one of the movies there's a black and silver one rolling around a star destroyer or one of the Death Stars.
