I've got this. I'm not into cars usually, but I think it's the best looking of the Creator vehicles - clearly, I did grab it! The canopy is nice, although the plates are a little fragile. My two-year old loves it as it's chunky and big and otherwise very durable/good for whizzing along the floor. I have only built the main car so far, but want to disassemble and try the other modes soon.

If you can grab it at a good price, go for it.

Thanks, MCF. I think I'll go for it. Also - slightly dumb question incoming - do the front wheels turn?

B-Model was a lot quicker/simpler, but a TON of fun to build.

I was just thinking that I am most likely underestimating its scale when assembled, just as I did with the Sopwith. As others have said, though, it seems to lack that "uber detail/density of pieces" look that is somewhat synonymous with a lot of UCS sets.

Just watch the unveiling video again. The set is fucking massive. Unless the guy in the video is really, really tiny himself.

So, that being said, I'd rather drop the bones on something like the 4993 Cool Convertible. Does anyone own this set? Is it - as the name suggests - COOL?!

I have it too, and no the front wheels dont turn unless i am mistaken, took it apart a few weeks ago.

Hey, Flix, I sent you a PM a while ago, about washing dem bricks. Didn't want to crap up the thread with repeated questions about it.
you did?

I only have messages concerning the Futurama moc, nothing about washing bricks ...

Thinking about getting the Funhouse Duo set, mostly for the figs. The structure looks pretty decent as well though I'm not a fan of Batman's bike. Anyone here own it?

I ordered the figs seperately on bricklink, I couldn't bring myself to buy the set as it looked pretty crap to me.

I don't understand why they didn't include at least one pilot minifig, the cockpit looks to fit one quite well...

And I hope those orange circles aren't stickers x(
Strangely, I hope they are stickers. That way I don't have to put them in and then I have two solid gray pieces to match all the others in the set instead of two random orange ones.

Bought it yesterday at the Lego Store in Frankfurt for 49 Euro.

I'll post pictures when I'm finished building it. So far, I'm very pleased.

After building the new R2 set, I kind-of want to collect the pieces to do another one, but of one of the other R2 units you see in the movies. I used to play the Decipher Star Wars Customizable Card Game way back when and they'd had cards for all these different R2 units. One that immediately comes to mind is the one that blows his lid in front of Luke. And in one of the movies there's a black and silver one rolling around a star destroyer or one of the Death Stars.

Although I'm sure you could make it to fit a minifig, I thought it looked bigger than minifig scale.

Do UCS models have flick missiles? Please no.

I own it, it's my favorite of Batman sets in-print, probably my favorite one ever produced to-date (UCS Batmobile was just okay), you can't beat the minifigure selection and it's a cool motif. I also really like the Batcave.

Going on the precedent set by the circle decal stickers in the Sopwith set, I'm sure they'll follow suit. Circle stickers are fine; they're hard to screw up.

Should I buy new 21005 for $40? I never purchased a set from Architecture series before but price seems quite good.

For $40? Absolutely. I have a close relationship with that set - definitely worth retail price, and a RIDICULOUS deal at 60% off.

Picked up your creator set for a cheap build. Decided to build the hidden build suggested by Milamber

Very cool. I have the instructions saved to my ipad and may build it sometime this weekend. I still need to try out the jet and the hovercraft as well.

And to PhoncipleBone - I'll be on the lookout for the Sonic Boom set, it's in my amazon wishlist at the moment. :)

Pretty cool, especially given the cost it took to produce (I'm sure it wasn't cheap!). It's good to see LEGO popping up in unique places!

Does anyone read Brick Journal regularly? I'm thinking of buying a bunch of the issues, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money...

I usually pick up an issue when I'm in the Lego store. It's a bit hit and miss, with a feel of a fanzine more than a professional magazine. I do like how they often theme an issue, but then that could alienate you if you aren't into gundams or steam punk or whatever the theme is.

I think digital back issues aren't that expensive, so it's worth trying a couple out, see what you think

I think they're like, $4. I'll check it out.

Also, Excavator will be here on Thursday. Fffffff <3

Went to Target to try and get the Orc Forge, and there were no LOTR sets there. In fact, the entire Lego aisle looked like a hurricane hit it. And all those "clearanced" Lighthouse sets were gone. Guess it actually got lowered in price and people snagged them. They still had a Queen Anne's Revenge for $84, but that was still too much for my blood.

And Toys R Us didn't have shit in either today. It is probably for the best.

Thanks to Tempy's awesome instructions a few pages back I've gone back to replicating the mini-modular pet shop. I just have the bottom floor left to do which seems to be a lot easier so far.

The only problem is that there is one piece that I can't recognize.

Does anyone know what piece was used right above the entrance to the Pet Shop? It's the one that's got a kind of angular arch to it. On the guys Flickr page another user complimented the builder for his NPU of that piece, but didn't mention what it was, haha.

Ha, that looks like a wheel well piece that you see on a lot of smaller lego cars.

Once you're done, could you put together some photos showing the build or details, so we can have a go too? Its a fantastic looking model

IF I ever finish it, yes I definitely will.

I've hit YET ANOTHER roadblock in this devil of a build. The bottom floor appears to be made of (from right to left) 5 plates, then a sideways brick, then a plate, and finally a flat tile. I made that just how it looks, but I have no idea how to connect it to anything else.

It's pretty much done, I just have to find some way of connecting that window to the rest of the structure; it's literally the last step to finishing it. D:

Oh snap! I think i finally got it to work
