Brian Street Team as Nightwing

...and nobody playing John Blake ...

COINCIDENCE ?

I think not

I know you're just joking but here's a serious answer: no one know who Blake is or how big his role is except for those that have seen the movie already.

Edit: Damnit! Someone edit that featurette! I'm so weak... Maybe I'll try to sleep.

Just a friendly reminder, but tread the internets lightly GAF. Thar be spoilers. I would say just go on an internet blackout until you watch the movie.

So, question for regular IMAX (15/70) visitors. I booked tickets for the back row, where I've never sat before. I heard before that IMAX is best experienced when sitting right in the middle row on the middle seat, but since all those tickets were already booked out, I had no choice.

What's your experience on sitting in the back row?

You should be fine. Still depends on the theater, but the back row is normally one of the better places to sit.

Distance between the screen and seats vary from imax to imax. If you could post a pic of the auditorium layout (the screen where you chose your reserve seats), that'd help.

I prefer the back rows at my imax. The giant screen still fills my field of vision, and you don't have to look up.

This is the best actual pic I can find, the screen is 3 more rows ahead and is 32 metres x 23 metres.

Yeah I think you'll be alright. Some people feel that having their field of vision dwarfed by the screen adds to the immersion, but I think you'll get about the same effect in the back rows. That is, as long as you sit in the center (or very near center) of your row.

And besides, much of TDKR was shot with imax cameras, so it uses the full format, unlike say, Amazing Spider-Man. I'd prefer being in the back rows to take it all in.

Yeah, near center. Glad to hear!

Re: Imax seating.
Anytime I've seen something at the Lincoln Center Imax, which is a real Imax, last row middle seats is the most ideal place to sit. I wouldn't even want to sit one row forward.

But each person/theatre is different. I like first row 2nd level because it feels less claustrophobic and I have good peripheral sense.

Go watch ice age or whatever is playing and move around during the thx test and the trailers.

The Lincoln Center Imax does not have two levels. First row level 2 sounds like perfect seating.

-EDIT-
Just listened to that sample DM, fuck..that's soo good.

Looking at this and back at the Gordon pics from TDKR, it's obvious that Gordon's hairline has receded a fair lot. Was this some sort of subtle prosthetic or effect to really solidify how the film takes place 8 years after TDK, or did Oldman's hairline really recede a lot after four years lol

Prolly. Leo looked 10 years younger in Inveption.

Or maybe he just stopped smoking for a few months

I want to see this movie in Imax, but I might not be able to see it in the first week. Can anybody tell me if Imax theaters only show a film in the first week?

I've never seen a film in Imax before so I don't really know much about it. I tried google for my theater (NYC amc lincoln center), but they don't have any showtimes past the 26th.

Yes they will most likely be playing it for a long time so you don't have to worry about it.

palisades-center in west nyack has a great imax place. I went to lincoln square 13 for avatar but I didn't like how they handled the event. It was a week after release and they couldn't handle the lines lol. Anyway, I believe the palisades one is a bit smaller but its 1570 film and its a great crowd. They are still selling tickets for the 20th as well as future dates. I enjoy the drive up there as well if you're into that sorta thing.
