Having the CGI Ground fall away, is an interesting way to cover up the tracks in the grass, coming from that vehicle.

Was anyone actually trying during that movie? Mann had Whedon's cinematographer, Depp had a CGI double for 80% of the movie, and Bale was counting his money from Terminator Salvation.

Dude doesn't want to go over the table, dude doesn't have to go over the table.

I just watched Batman Begins. I know I saw it when it came out, but I had zero recollection of 90% of the movie, so it was pretty much all new to me. And it's....a really uneven film. In terms of editing, cinematography, acting, and tone. It's really weird. Even with in the the opening, I swear there were flashbacks within the flash back (beta-Inception?). It wasn't made clear what was current day, what was a flash back, and where Bruce went for the 7 missing years. As I was watching it, it seemed like parents die, then he runs off to the middle of nowhere to join a prison for fun, trains for a while, goes back to Gotham for the trail, then goes back to train some more. That doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's how it was edited.

The young Bruce stuff was really bad. I just didn't care for it at all. But I loved the training stuff and Bruce coming back to Gotham. But then he fully becomes Batman and is making quips and jokes that seem completely out of character for what the movie had set up to that point. You had editing that made people seem like they were teleporting or doing things with their bodies that were completely incongruent with their heads and speaking. The tone of the movie went back and forth from super serious to jokey and it was just strange. There were some parts that felt like they could have been in Shumacher's movies. And Gotham itself, especially the narrows, looks like it would fit right in with Schumacher/Burton Gotham. An awful lot of neon going on. The Gotham of TDK feels like a completely different city. It's shot like a different city, too.

Over all I liked it, but it had a lot of problems. It was surprisingly cheesy and comic booky for a trilogy that takes itself so seriously. TDK was vastly better in every way. Can't wait for TDKR.

A guy who doesn't understand editing...clearly has issues.

I love both movies so I don't care which one you liked better, but your reasons for not liking BB are due to you seemingly not understanding the non linear approach Nolan brought to telling the origins story. I found it amazing and one of the best to spice up a rather known story about his parents. Jumping back and forth only to have everything make sense later is something Nolan has done in other movies too. In fact it isn't even confusing in BB.

I hope you don't watch Momento or the Prestige if you don't like that style

No, I understood the information, but the editing of it was weird and out of order in a way that was confusing. The way it was cut made it seem like he went off to train, came back for the trail, and went back to train some more. When actually, he did the trial and then went to train. But it wasn't cut that way. I understood what was being said, but the I found the editing to be really strange. Furthermore, editing within scenes had people traveling great distances across rooms in the blink of an eye. Batman can get away with stuff like that, but Alfred and Gordon can't. Falcone was so out of place as the a 40s style gangster. He was one line away from "yaaa, see coppahs!".

My main issue wasn't from not understanding Nolan's non-linear style. My issue was the movie can't decide if it is a gritty reboot or cheesy comic book movie and doesn't keep a consistent tone at all. I think this is the first movie/TV show where Bruce is more interesting than Batman. I wouldn't have been upset if the entire movie was just Bruce and not have him be Batman until the last scene. It's ok, but I can't believe people prefer it to TDK. I think it is quite a bit below Batman and Batman Returns, honestly. But I love TDK more than just about any movie in the past 10 years.

I am watching and reading all the daily specials Empire has up and can't believe I had never seen the teaser trailer for Batman Begins.

And now that I have seen it, HOW COME THEY CUT OUT THE VOICE OVER DIALOGUE BRUCE IS DELIVERING?!!?!?! Its awesome!

It wasn't cut out of the movie, because it was never in the movie. They recorded it only for the teaser trailer.

So against my better judgment, I listened to ONE track, 13, the one people were saying was the Molossus of TDKR.

Yeah, no.

Molossus/Like A Dog Chasing Cars R.I.P.

:_(

R.I.P. because it replaces them.

Now go watch Mission Impossible 2 you FOOL.

Indeed I am. And I made myself a dummy for an epic disappointment :_(

Sounded like something from the Inception score more than Batman.

Seriously, Mission Impossible 2.

It's been weeks and I still can't over it. I don't know why this bothers me more than Quantum of Solace, but it does.

Argh, looked up at the TV mid-commercial and saw something exploding. I guess it's not really a spoiler that things blow up but I wish I didn't know that this does. Like how they spoiled the hospital in TDK.

Oh well. Waiting for July 20 to hear the rest. But yeah, that was a little too far down the electronic Inception feel for me. It was perfect for that film, but not what I want to hear in Batman.

Really missed the hypnotic driving bass from BB and the sweeping strings from TDK.

I love this version because it really feels more militaristic and revolutionary, which fits in so much with the movie. Especially 4:00 and onward. BB and TDK were great for car chases, but this feels like it's going to mean so much more just from hearing it.

Of course, the scene could probably be Alfred making a sandwich for Howard Hughes Wayne. An epic sandwich though!

While the score its ubber awesome I hate the way they promote the movie with original tracks that are not in the score or the movie.

They did the same with one of the trailers of Inception.
This one.

I would love to have the trailer tracks.
