Nah, I think he looks great both with and without beard. It's just that a beard, especially a full one, usually makes you look older. @Tess3ract, have you tried something in-between, with a short-trimmed beard?

Mostly my problem. It's patchy and doesn't have good color. Some spots are dark and others are light. I can go a day or two without shaving before I need to. It's a shame because I think I'd look good with a beard or a nicely trimmed goatee.

Just get some clippers and trim it down whenever it starts to get unruly. Over time the patches will fill in and you'll have a nice full, but short, beard.

From what I've seen stubble is the most acceptable form of facial hair. A lot of people out there that don't like mustaches/beards/goatees but not a lot of people that dislike stubble.
